Matthew 24:3-14 3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” 4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all[a] these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences,[b] and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.
11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

THE TRIBULATION OF THE UNJUST IN REVELATION CH 6 -22:
DAILY CHRISTIAN BIBLICAL QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:
“OSAS” (ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED) AND PHIL. 2:12
God bless Jack, and thank you always for what you do.
QUESTION: My question is simply, how do we reconcile eternal security, (Once Saved Always Saved) with verses like “work out your salvation through fear and trembling” (Philippians 2:12). My pastor whom I love very much and support does not believe in OSAS and he brought up this scripture in making that defense.
ANSWER: First of all, you should remind your Pastor that the Bible has to be consistent. It can’t say something in one place and something different in another place. Whenever we think it does it means that we’ve misunderstood the contradictory verse. Since there are a half dozen or so verses that clearly promise eternal security, and most of them were also written by Paul, then your pastor’s interpretation of Phil 2:12 has to be wrong.
So what does Phil. 2:12 mean? Well, it follows Phil. 2:5-11 and is connected to them by the word, therefore. Since at the end of the age every knee will bow before Jesus, friend and enemy alike, we’re dealing with the most powerful person in the universe. Being on His wrong side will have disastrous and eternal consequences and we should tremble at the thought.
In Ephes. 1:13-14 Paul said that we were included in Christ and sealed with the Holy Spirit at the first moment of belief, and in Ephes. 2:8-9 He said that salvation is by faith, not works. That means salvation is an event not a process and is achieved solely by faith. So by the phrase “continue to work out your salvation” he must have been talking about something more than just getting saved.
And sure enough, in 1 Cor 9:24-27 he described salvation as being to the victorious Christian life like qualifying for the big race is to the athlete. The athlete isn’t satisfied just to have qualified, he wants the win the race. Christians shouldn’t be happy just to be saved, we should aspire to victory over our sin nature as well. The reason is that it will please the Lord and we all want to please the Lord. After all, He’s the King of the Universe. While we can’t lose our salvation, we should be fearful of embarrassing or offending Him by our behaviour. That would be a sign of ingratitude.
Phil 2:13 is part of the same sentence as verse 12 and it says,
“For it is God who works in you to will and act according to His good purpose.”
Here we’re told that it’s God Who’s doing the work so in effect our part is to follow His direction. When we submit to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, our lives are pleasing to the Lord and a demonstration of our gratitude for all He’s done for us. (Romans 12:2)
“Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come” (2 Cor. 1:21-22).

NOT OVER: AS CEASEFIRE GOES INTO EFFECT, NETANYAHU SAYS GAZA CAMPAIGN NOT OVER AND ISRAEL IS PREPARING TO CONTINUE FIGHT AGAINST HAMAS
“Over the past two days, we have hit Hamas and Islamic Jihad with great force, attacking over 350 targets and terrorist leaders and activists, and destroying terrorist infrastructure,” Netanyahu said in a statement.“The campaign is not over and requires patience and judgment. We are preparing to continue,” the prime minister added. “The goal was and remains to ensure the peace and security of the residents of the south. I send condolences to the families and wish a speedy recovery for the wounded.”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday commented on reports of an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire deal in Gaza, after two days of fighting in which four Israelis were killed, saying that Israel was readying for further confrontations with terrorist groups in the coastal enclave.
As we told you yesterday, it is no coincidence of any kind that the United States is sending over the USS Abraham Lincoln to the Middle East to deal with some vague, non-specific “Iranian threat’ at exactly the same time Hamas wants a ceasefire. Netanyahu has zero intentions of letting this one go after Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad rockets killed 4 Israelis over the weekend.
“Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.” Psalm 121:4,5,8 (KJV)
And why should he? The Israelis elected Netanyahu to keep them safe, and to do what needs to be done to protect their borders. That is the main job of any elected leader in any nation on the face of the earth. And with an ally like President Trump in the White House, providing the backup, there will never again be a better time to wipe out Hamas than right here and right now. Netanyahu is well aware of that, Trump is aware of that and guess what? Hamas, the PIJ and Iran are well aware of it also. Game on.
AS CEASEFIRE GOES INTO EFFECT, NETANYAHU SAYS GAZA CAMPAIGN NOT OVER
FROM TIMES OF ISRAEL: “Over the past two days, we have hit Hamas and Islamic Jihad with great force, attacking over 350 targets and terrorist leaders and activists, and destroying terrorist infrastructure,” Netanyahu said in a statement.
“The campaign is not over and requires patience and judgment. We are preparing to continue,” the prime minister added. “The goal was and remains to ensure the peace and security of the residents of the south. I send condolences to the families and wish a speedy recovery for the wounded.”
A spokesperson for Hamas similarly said, in response to the prime minister’s statement, that although the recent flare-up in violence had come to an end, the wider conflict would continue.
“The resistance managed to deter the IDF,” said Sami Abu Zuhri, according to the Kan public broadcaster, referring to the Gaza terror groups. “Our message is that this round is over, but the conflict will not end until we regain our rights.”
THE LAST 48 HOURS IN ISRAEL:
690 rockets fired from Gaza at Israeli civilians
240 Iron Dome Aerial Defense System interceptions
210,000 children had school cancelled
4 Israeli civilians killed
The ceasefire between Israel and the Gaza terror groups went into effect at 4:30 a.m. Monday, according to the Hamas and Islamic Jihad terror groups, ending two days of intense fighting that saw more than 600 rockets fired at Israel and four Israeli civilians killed.
Over two days, in response to the rocket fire, the Israeli military conducted hundreds of strikes from the air and land, including one highly unusual targeted killing of a terrorist operative who the IDF said funneled money from Iran to terror groups in the Strip.
Palestinian medical officials reported 29 dead since Friday, including at least 11 terrorists, The Times of Israel confirmed. The Israeli government refused to confirm the reported truce, apparently so as to avoid publicly acknowledging its negotiations with terrorist groups. However, the military announced that, as of 7 a.m., it was lifting all security restrictions that had been in place in the south during the fighting, and that schools would be allowed to open, indicating that a ceasefire had indeed been reached. Israel’s Netanyahu orders ‘massive strikes’ on Gaza militants
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he’s ordered the army to keep up what he calls massive strikes on Palestinian militants in response to rocket fire from the Gaza Strip. Hamas has made a similar vow. The violence has claimed lives on both sides of the border – and there are reports that casualties are rising. Gaza militants fired more than 400 rockets at Israel over the past day in one of the deadliest escalations in in years. Israel reported first fatalities from rocket fire since 2014, with Hamas commander Hamed al-Khoudary among the dead.
The morning after the latest round of fighting between Israel and Hamas looks exactly like the morning before it began. It’s as if nothing had happened.
In two days of conflict, more than 700 rockets were fired toward Israel; four Israelis were killed, along with 29 Gazans (at least 11 of them members of the terror groups); and considerable damage was done to Hamas and Islamic Jihad infrastructure in the Strip.
But as usual, Israel and Hamas find themselves in a shaky truce without the situation having changed in the slightest. As they say, the more things change, the more they stay the same.
Neither side has any substantive achievement to boast of, nor have they made a move that has altered the status quo.
Hamas has shown that its military capabilities have improved, with the lethality of the rocket attacks and their ability to overcome the Iron Dome missile defence system on multiple occasions, as well as the minimal harm sustained by members of the terrorist organisation.
This attests to constant improvements to the terrorists’ military wing in the run-up to the next campaign.
On the other hand, the Israel Defense Forces improved its list of targets and managed to hit important Hamas military facilities. It also showed its ability to carry out a targeted assassination against a member of the terrorist group who had tried to remain under the intelligence radar, with a missile strike on the car of Hamed Hamdan al-Khodari, who funneled Iranian money to Palestinian terror groups in the Gaza Strip.
THERE ARE, NONETHELESS, MANY CAUSES FOR CONCERN ON THE ISRAELI SIDE.
It is clear that Hamas has learned to defend itself. Most of its senior operatives took cover in the subterranean bunkers and tunnels the terror group has dug underneath the enclave, and escaped the flareup unharmed. Its missile launch and command and control capabilities were impressive.
All of these things should ring warning bells in Israel.
The big problem for Hamas is that on the first morning of the holy month of Ramadan, it cannot present any hope of an economic solution to the people of Gaza — and certainly not of a political one.
This failure on Hamas’s part comes despite the fact that many Gazans expressed willingness for a major military operation, if only to bring about a change in their situation.
While Qatari money may enter Gaza in the coming days, it will not alleviate the overall crisis: Unemployment stands at 51 percent and there is abject poverty.
Hamas does nothing to help the local population. Instead, it imposes more and more taxes, which it uses for military infrastructure (including the aforementioned tunnels and bunkers for senior Hamas officials) rather than improving the overall situation in Gaza.
Gazan’s are starting to show signs of discontent with Hamas — although not enough to bring them out to the streets as was the case earlier this year. But there is now criticism of the terrorist organisation on social networks.
The latest round of fighting was likely also an attempt by Hamas to divert Gazan public anger away from the organization and toward Israel.
Ultimately, both sides are hostages to Israel’s decision six months ago to approve the transfer of Qatari money to pay the salaries of Hamas employees.
That money was interpreted in Gaza in only one way — an Israeli surrender to Hamas’s extortion.
It is clear that whoever on the Israeli side made the deal with Hamas — whether they were from the Mossad or the Prime Minister’s Office — did not understand this.
What appeared to those on the Israeli side as an opportunity to cut a deal with Hamas was interpreted on the other side as sign of a weakness that could be exploited.
Thus, when the Qatari money was delayed last weekend, not due to any fault of Israel, Hamas immediately triggered a broader conflict than usual, thinking and believing that what had worked six months ago would work again this time.
And it seems that Hamas was right.
While the Qataris didn’t get involved initially, the money is expected to be transferred to Gaza shortly — just in time to ensure a Ramadan kareem.

“From now on, you will only suffer failures,” it concludes.
Culture Minister Miri Regev criticizes her fellow Likud MK Gideon Sa’ar for denouncing the decision to accept an Egypt-brokered ceasefire deal in Gaza as “very lacking” for Israel.
This morning, in very rare implicit criticism of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from within his own party, Sa’ar tweeted that “terrorist groups in Gaza are getting stronger. A campaign was not prevented, but postponed.”
Speaking to reporters at the Knesset, Regev reacts: “I think we all have some criticism. Gideon Sa’ar, who was a minister and cabinet member, knows that decision-making isn’t simple and that the prime minister makes decisions responsibly.
“I think Gideon Sa’ar’s remark was uncalled for,” she adds.
Sa’ar is Netanyahu’s political rival and is seen as a potential challenger to his rule.
Despite a ceasefire agreement that went into effect earlier this morning, IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kohavi says that Israel will continue to operate in the Gaza Strip as needed.
“The terrorist army operating in the Gaza Strip that hides among its own civilians has witnessed the strength of the IDF and our defense establishment,” he says at a Memorial Day event at the Mt. Herzl military cemetery in Jerusalem.
“The IDF will continue to strike with force, as demanded, wherever it’s needed,” he says.
In the last 48 hours, Kohavi says the IDF destroyed hundreds of targets linked to Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Gaza, in response to the barrages of rockets fired at Israel from the coastal enclave.
Earlier, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel was “preparing to continue” confrontations with Palestinian terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip.

The explosion killed 21-year-old Pinchas Menachem Prezuazman, who was running for cover when the rocket came crashing through the stairwell of his building.
The Hamas-run Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip says two more people were killed in overnight Israeli airstrikes, bringing the death toll in the Palestinian enclave to 31 since Friday.
The ministry says the bodies of two men were pulled from underneath rubble of their home in the northern Gaza Strip earlier this morning.
The Palestinian death toll in the two-day escalation in violence includes at least 11 terrorists, The Times of Israel has confirmed. Gaza health officials say two pregnant women and two babies were also among the casualties.
Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri slams Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for claiming that Israel’s retaliatory strikes targeting Palestinian terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip over the weekend delivered a major blow to both Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
“Netanyahu’s remarks about the strikes on the resistance are ridiculous,” Zuhri says in a statement carried by Palestinian media outlets.
“The resistance succeeded in deterring Netanyahu’s army, and dragged its nose through the dirt,” he says. “Our message is that this round is over but the conflict will not end until we regain our rights.”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that Israel hit Palestinian terrorist groups hard in Gaza, but says the country is preparing for another round of confrontations in the coastal enclave.
“In the past two days, we have hit Hamas and Islamic Jihad with great force,” he says in a statement released a few hours after an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire agreement apparently went into effect.
“We struck more than 350 targets, hit terrorist operatives and their leader, and destroyed terrorist infrastructure.”
Still, “the campaign is not over, it requires patience and deliberation,” he says. “We are preparing to continue.”
There was no official ceasefire announcement from either side, but the intense fighting over the past two days appeared to come to a sudden halt early this morning and residents on both sides are going back to their daily routines.
Netanyahu has traditionally been cautious in his handling of Gaza for fear of sparking an open-ended war with no clear endgame, but he is facing criticism from members of his own party and prospective coalition partners for not going further to quash the Gaza terror groups.
AIRCRAFT CARRIER STRIKE GROUP SENT TO MIDDLE EAST AFTER INDICATIONS IRAN PLANNED ATTACK ON U.S. FORCES
The United States is deploying an aircraft carrier strike group and a bomber task force to the Middle East on short notice in response to “clear indications” Iran and Iranian proxies were planning an attack on U.S. forces in the region, a U.S. official said.
Late Sunday night, the White House made a surprise announcement that the USS Abraham Lincoln and a bomber task force were being deployed in response to unspecified “troubling and escalatory indications and warnings.”
A statement from National Security Adviser John Bolton said the deployments were intended “to send a clear and unmistakable message to the Iranian regime that any attack on United States interests or on those of our allies will be met with unrelenting force.”
“The United States is not seeking war with the Iranian regime, but we are fully prepared to respond to any attack, whether by proxy, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or regular Iranian forces,” the statement continued.
A U.S. official told ABC News the deployments were in response to “clear indications” Iranian and Iranian proxy forces were preparing for a possible attack, and that the decision to send forces was made on Sunday.
“The movement of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln to the region was expedited, and it was ordered there effective immediately,” said the official.
The carrier is currently in the Mediterranean after leaving Norfolk, Virginia, on April 1. The Navy no longer provides destinations for its carrier deployments, but the carrier likely would have had to transit through the Middle East toward its new home port of San Diego at the end of its deployment.
The aircraft carrier USS John Stennis operated in the Persian Gulf twice during its recent deployment, for three weeks earlier this year and a week in early April.
“It’s something we’ve been working on for a little while,” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told reporters traveling with him to Europe. “It is absolutely the case that we have seen escalatory actions from the Iranians, and it is equally the case that we will hold the Iranians accountable for attacks on American interests.”
Pompeo did not provide specifics on Iran’s potential actions, but said Iran “should understand about how we will respond to actions they may take” and that for any actions by related third-parties or proxies “we will hold the Iranian leadership directly accountable for that.”
IRAN’S HAND BEHIND THE LATEST FLARE UP IN GAZA, ISRAEL
WEBPAGE ADMINISTRATOR: This God’s prophecy against IRAN in these last days. God refers to Iran (Today’s Name for Iran) as Elam.
Jer. 49:35 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.
Jer. 49:36 AND UPON ELAM will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come.
Jer. 49:37 For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, saith the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them:
Jer. 49:38 And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from thence the king and the princes, saith the LORD.
Jer. 49:39 But it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring again the captivity of Elam, saith the LORD.
Jer. 50:1 The word that the LORD spake against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet.
Jer. 50:2 Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces.
Jer. 50:3 For out of the north there cometh up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they shall remove, they shall depart, both man and beast.
Jer. 50:4 In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God

Iran meddling in Palestinian affairs, intensifying conflict
The violent spasm from Hamas-run Gaza isn’t just another episode in the ongoing Palestinian-Israeli conflict or merely another incident in a cycle of violence in which the Palestinians are given no agency. It is a significant escalation that tests the prevailing rules of the game with Israel where Iran is demonstrating its ability to intensify the conflict by meddling in Palestinian affairs.
Despite the ceasefire previously hammered out by Egypt, a sniper from Iran’s proxy-the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ)-opened fire across the Gaza fence wounding an Israeli officer and soldier on Friday. The attack is all the more brazen as it took place as Hamas and PIJ leaders were in Cairo finishing an agreement to ease the tensions in Gaza and Israel’s south. The IDF responded to the initial incident by targeting a Hamas outpost, killing three Hamas terrorists.
Beginning around 10 a.m. the next morning, the first of hundreds of rockets were fired by Hamas and PIJ into Israel, with around 700 launched toward Israeli homes and infrastructure by Sunday evening, killing four civilians and injuring dozens. Hamas-affiliated Shehab News Agency posted video of a salvo of rockets fired from Gaza.
This latest escalation is significant for several reasons. First is the deliberate increase in range in the rockets fired from Gaza. Hamas and PIJ began by targeting Israeli communities in the Strip’s periphery, such as Sderot and Ashkelon. According to the IDF, after the Home Front Command instructed residents living within 40 km of the Gaza Strip to consult with local authorities and remain near protected spaces, the terrorist groups turned to rockets with increased ranges of up to 70 km. By Sunday, several longer-range projectiles were fired, growing to encompass Ashdod further north. On Sunday, city officials opened bomb shelters as far up the coast as Netanya, which lies north of Tel Aviv.
The kinds of weapons used by terrorists in Gaza are also noteworthy. Interrupting a short lull in the rocket fire, terrorists fired a guided Kornet anti-tank weapon, targeting a car and killing a civilian in Israel. According to the IDF, militants in Gaza also tried carrying out an attack using a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) attached to a drone, which landed on a tank but failed to detonate. The IDF, working with Israel’s internal security the Shin Bet, also thwarted a Hamas cyberattack against Israeli infrastructure and responded by destroying the building housing the headquarters of the terror group’s cyber unit. It was the first such attack while fighting was ongoing.
Of the 700 or so rockets fired from Gaza through Sunday, most landed in open fields, 90 failed to make it out of the strip, and Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system intercepted more than 170 with a success rate of over 80 percent. Despite propaganda attempts by Hamas and its own Health Ministry to blame Israel for the death of a Palestinian woman and her unborn baby, Israeli officials are adamant in refuting that claim.
IDF spokesman Brig. Gen. Ronen Manelis wrote on Twitter that the death was “the terror organizations’ propaganda at its finest.” Jonathan Conricus, the foreign press spokesman at the IDF told journalists they were “now confident” that the deaths were not due to an Israeli strike. “Their unfortunate death was not a result of (Israeli) weaponry but a Hamas rocket that was fired and exploded not where it was supposed to,” Conricus said, citing Israeli intelligence.
Nevertheless, several rockets managed to make it through, killing four Israelis and wounding several dozen more. The first Israeli fatality was Moshe Agadi, a 58-year-old father of four who was killed when a rocket struck his home in Ashkelon. A 47-year-old Bedouin man, Ziad al-Hamamda, was killed Sunday by shrapnel after a direct strike on a factory, also in the city of Ashkelon. Moshe Feder, a 68-year-old man killed was killed by the Kornet anti-tank missile. A 23-year-old Israeli, Pinchas Menachem Prezuazman was also killed Sunday due to shrapnel injuries he sustained while running to a shelter in Ashdod. In these border communities, there is often less than 15 seconds of warning time between a red alert and a rocket’s impact.
Israel’s response was also significant as it holds Hamas responsible for the situation in Gaza, especially as the precipitating event during this round occurred at the weekly Hamas-sponsored riots along the Gaza fence that have taken place for over a year.
The IDF targeted approximately 320 terror sites in Gaza, including observation control rooms, underground offensive terror tunnels underground infrastructure, weapon storage facilities, military compounds, launch sites, weapons factories, and observation posts. They also targeted an underground Hamas rocket manufacturing site, weapons manufacturing facilities inside a Hamas battalion HQ, and Hamas military intelligence and security offices. Israel’s navy also struck several targets.
More significant is that Israel targeted dozens of private homes belonging to Hamas and PIJ commanders, including the office of Hamas’ interior minister and head of Hamas security services, Twafiq Abu Naim. Moreover, Israel returned to its policy of targeted assassinations as confirmed by the IDF Spokesman. Its first targeted assassination carried out since 2014 struck a vehicle and killed 39-year-old Hamed Ahmed Abed Khudari who was in charge of large-scale money transfers from Iran to terror groups in Gaza.
While Israel’s usual response was to target terrorist infrastructure and assets in the economy section, these latter targets suggest an upgrade.
Israel has also enhanced its air defenses in terms of personnel and equipment and augmented the capabilities of its Air Force. Israel’s chief of staff ordered the deployment of the 7th armored brigade to prepare for a ground operation in Gaza if needed, along with the Golani brigade.
Aside from serving as a reminder that Hamas remains as wedded as ever to its charter, which calls for the destruction of Israel as part of its “struggle against the Jews,” this latest escalation also highlights the regime in Tehran’s ability to impact to the situation in Israel and Gaza, which is likewise devoted to goal of wiping Israel off of the map. The latter’s impact can be seen by the subversive role played by the PIJ as they often operate behind the back of Hamas leadership. As the former head of Israel’s Military intelligence’s Research Department, Yaakov Amidor put it, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, unlike Hamas, is a completely owned and operated Iranian subsidiary, “established by Iran, financed by Iran, and does what Iran wants it to do.” A former national security adviser and current senior fellow at the Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security (JISS), Amidor explained, Hamas was dragged into the current escalation by PIJ, who first tried to deny their responsibility for the attack.
Iran would consider it a benefit if Israel were bogged down in a major operation Gaza, which would give Iran a freer hand to continue its entrenchment enterprise in Syria. Amidor believes agreements with Hamas are unlikely to hold if PIJ acts independently and “if Hamas does not take control and do what it should as an organization that is control of the Gaza Strip.”
It was the PIJ who ignited this latest round even if Hamas was quick to join in. Taking credit for the strikes that reached Ashkelon, PIJ claimed it fired a new type of missile at the city and said, “what is coming next is greater.”
As of Sunday night and early Monday morning, Egyptian intelligence officials along with United Nations Middle East Envoy Nickolay Mladenov were reportedly mediating talks aimed at securing a ceasefire. Qatar, who actively supports Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, has hosted Hamas external leadership, and pays Hamas civil servant salaries in Gaza, also offered to help negotiate a ceasefire.

RUMORS OF WAR: Iran and Iranian proxies planning attack on U.S. forces in the regionhttps://endtimeheadlines.org/2019/05/rumors-of-war-iran-and-iranian-proxies-planning-attack-on-u-s-forces-in-the-region/
(ABC) – The United States is deploying an aircraft carrier strike group and a bomber task force to the Middle East on short notice in response to “clear indications” Iran and Iranian proxies were planning an attack on U.S. forces in the region, a U.S. official said. Late Sunday night, the White House made a surprise announcement that the USS Abraham Lincoln and a bomber task force were being deployed in response to unspecified “troubling and escalatory indications and warnings.”
A statement from National Security Adviser John Bolton said the deployments were intended “to send a clear and unmistakable message to the Iranian regime that any attack on United States interests or on those of our allies will be met with unrelenting force.” “The United States is not seeking war with the Iranian regime, but we are fully prepared to respond to any attack, whether by proxy, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or regular Iranian forces,” the statement continued. “In Iran, any practice that contradicts Islam is regarded as a national security threat, punished severely by the court system.” — International Christian Concern, 2019.
“Revolutionary courts were created to guard against all threats to Islam. These courts have evolved into a well-oiled machine of oppression that operates with impunity under state protection. The courts are closely intertwined with the Intelligence Ministry. Judges have at their disposal Revolutionary Guards (secret police) and a network of prisons used to torture and interrogate Christians.” — International Christian Concern.
“If you recant and repent, you’ll go to jail. And if you don’t, you’ll be killed.” — Dr. Mike Ansari from Heart4Iran, an Iranian Christian minister, reported by International Christian Concern.
“Christians may be looking at large fines, detention, lengthy prison sentences, or even execution under Islamic Sharia law. The sentences of Christian converts are left up to the interpretation of the judge and may be founded on anything—the judge’s mood that day, what he had for breakfast, his interpretation of Sharia law, or his level of hatred toward Christianity.” — International Christian Concern.
The daughter of a former pastor in Iran—Dabrina Bet-Tamraz—recently described the persecution and suffering to which her family is being subjected after being sentenced to lengthy prison terms for “crimes” related to Christianity.
Speaking from the safety of refuge in Switzerland, where she managed to flee with the help of friends, Dabrina Bet-Tamraz, the daughter of Victor and Shamiram Bet-Tamraz, told Gatestone Institute:
“I was arrested many times in Iran. I was threatened, forced to cooperate with the government against pastors, Christian leaders and church members. I was kept in custody with no legal permit, with no female officer present and in male surroundings.
”I now feel safe in Switzerland, but when Iranian MOIS [intelligence agency] officers published an article on social media with my pictures and home address—encouraging Iranian men living in Switzerland to ‘pay me a visit’—I had to move to another house.”
It has been nearly a year since Dabrina appealed to the UN’s Human Rights Council in Geneva to intervene to overturn the “false and baseless charges” imposed on her father, mother, brother and other Christians and Christian converts in Iran. The timeline of her family’s arrests is as follows:
In 2014, Pastor Victor Bet-Tamraz was arrested, along with two converts to Christianity from Islam, during a private Christmas gathering in his home in Tehran.
In 2016, Ramiel Bet-Tamraz, the pastor’s son (Dabrina’s brother), was arrested along with four of his friends, all Muslim converts to Christianity, during a picnic in Tehran. They were held and interrogated at Evin Prison, known for its abuse and torture of dissidents.
In 2017, Pastor Victor Bet-Tamraz and two converts were convicted and sentenced to 10 yearsin prison for “conducting evangelism” and carrying out “illegal church activities.”
Meanwhile, the pastor’s wife, Shamiram (Dabrina’s mother), was summoned to the Office of the Prosecutor in Evin Prison and subsequently sentenced to 10 years in jail for “membership of a group with the purpose of disrupting national security” and for “gathering and colluding to commit crimes against national security.”
Dabrina said that her family has been living in limbo—something that is taking a psychological and financial toll on their lives and livelihood:
“They are trying to survive, not knowing what is going to happen next, not being able to make plans about their future. Their lives are just on hold.
”They are living with constant anxiety, powerless, not having security and safety even in their own home. They are fully aware of the dangers around them but are not able to do anything to protect themselves. They are watched, controlled and wiretapped; it is their everyday life. Every time they get a phone call, they are filled with fear: It might be Iranian intelligence officers calling them for an interrogation session or a court hearing.
The story of the Bet-Tamraz family is part of what the human rights organization, International Christian Concern, has reported to be “Iran’s Terror Factory” targeting Christians:
“In Iran, any practice that contradicts Islam is regarded as a national security threat, punished severely by the court system.
”Revolutionary courts were created to guard against all threats to Islam. These courts have evolved into a well-oiled machine of oppression that operates with impunity under state protection. The courts are closely intertwined with the Intelligence Ministry. Judges have at their disposal Revolutionary Guards (secret police) and a network of prisons used to torture and interrogate Christians.”
According to International Christian Concern, Dr. Mike Ansari from Heart4Iran, an Iranian Christian minister, said about victims of this court system: “If you recant and repent, you’ll go to jail. And if you don’t, you’ll be killed.”
The International Christian Concern report added:
“The penal code lacks guidance for the judiciary regarding Muslim converts. Christians may be looking at large fines, detention, lengthy prison sentences, or even execution under Islamic Sharia law. The sentences of Christian converts are left up to the interpretation of the judge and may be founded on anything—the judge’s mood that day, what he had for breakfast, his interpretation of Sharia law, or his level of hatred toward Christianity.”
The Tribulation Period is called a “day of darkness” in the Bible (Joel 2:1-2; Amos 5:18; Zeph. 1:15).
It is not hard for some Christians to believe that spiritual darkness is descending on Israel, the U.S., the world and the Church.
First, in Israel on April 22, 2019 (the day after Easter Sunday in the U.S.), an estimated 100,000 Jews went to the Wailing Wall at the base of the Temple Mount to receive the annual Passover blessing from Jewish priests.
On the same day, Jewish priests from the Temple Institute sacrificed a lamb without blemish at a location in sight of the Temple Mount.
They chose a location in sight of the Temple Mount because there is no Temple, but the article said “the Temple Institute is dedicated to rebuilding the Temple on Mount Moriah (the Temple Mount) in Jerusalem.”
All of these things (trained priests, blessings, a growing number of worshippers, an animal sacrifice, etc.) are moving toward a rebuilt Temple and Israel going back under the Law (descending into spiritual darkness) during the Tribulation Period.
Thankfully, all Israel shall be saved, so Christians should support Israel (Rom. 11:26).
God will bless those that bless Israel (Gen. 12:3).
For whatever it is worth, some Bible prophecy teachers think the Temple should be rebuilt at a freshwater spring called Gihon near, not on, the Temple Mount.
Notice that the Temple Institute is dedicated to rebuilding the Temple on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem, not at the Gihon spring (see II Chron. 3:1).
Second, in the U.S., the spiritual darkness is growing on a daily basis (terminating babies after they are born is a good thing; Rep. Ilhan Omar said Jesus is a Palestinian; Mayor Pete Buttigieg believes he is gay because God created him that way; the Boy Scout “Perversion File” shows 12,254 victims of sexual abuse, etc.).
The U.S. has the Word of God, but foolish hearts have been darkened; and professing themselves to be wise, many have become fools (Rom. 1:21-32).
Third, in the world on Apr. 21, 2019 (Easter Sunday), Muslims blew up eight churches and luxury hotels, killing about 250 people and injuring almost 500 in Sri Lanka.
This story made the mainline news for days; but most of these stories don’t get reported, or if they do, the fact that Muslims are often involved is omitted.
Anyway, Open Doors USA said an average of 105 churches and/or Christian buildings are burned or attacked every month (an average of more than 3 per day), and this is expected to escalate all over the globe.
God loves His Church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it (Matt. 16:18).
He has given real Christians a message of hope and light (the Gospel) that is a cure for the descending darkness that this article is documenting, but the world is persecuting and killing the messengers just like Jesus said they would (Matt 24:9).
Fourth, in Canada on Apr. 25, 2019, it was announced that the Royal Canadian Mint has unveiled a new one-dollar commemorative coin with the image of two men kissing.
Canada’s Federal Finance Minister said, “We should all recognise that we are not at the end of this path – We have more to do.”
I started to write that he is sticking his finger in the eye of Canadian Christians; but no, he is sticking his finger in the eye of God, deceiving others and deceiving himself (II Tim. 3:1-5, 12-13).
The only thing that will change this is the judgement of God, and that will come.
Fifth, in France, a Roman Catholic Cathedral called Notre Dame recently burned, and someone suggested that it be rebuilt with a Muslim minaret on top.
A final decision hasn’t been made, but French Pres. Macron definitely thinks it should be rebuilt in line with diversity.
He is a globalist with a dark desire for world government, open borders, the two-state solution in Israel, and now we can add world religion.
The politically correct like to remind the citizens of the world that Arabs are descendants of Abraham (but they don’t believe what Abraham believed). Muslims believe in God and Jesus (but not the God and Jesus of the Bible); Muslims believe in peace (but their idea of peace is the death of all non-Muslims and the establishment of an Islamic world government and world religion), etc.
The spiritual darkness is great when the leader of a major nation thinks a Muslim minaret on top of an old burned out Roman Catholic church building will promote peace between the religions of the world.
It will encourage more Muslim violence, not less, because they will conclude that they are winning.
They like to have their Muslim buildings and symbols higher than Church buildings because they think that it shows that their religion is greater.
World peace is a wonderful idea, but it will not happen until the Prince of Peace (the Light of the World) comes to deal with the darkness and rule the world.
Sixth, in the Church in late April 2019, it was reported that Antisemitism is rising in the U.S., young people are leaving the Church when they head off to college, a growing number of pastors are afraid to speak out on moral issues, etc.
This descent into darkness and departing from the faith fullfills Bible prophecy.
REPENTANCE AND REVIVAL ARE BADLY NEEDED.

AMERICAN TRADE TALKS WITH CHINA COLLAPSE: “THIS HAS ALL THE MAKINGS OF A COMPLETE DISASTER THAT COULD LEAD THE STOCK MARKET TO CRATER THIS WEEK”
Chaos has returned to global financial markets, and it does not appear that there will be an easy fix this time. For the first four months of 2019, the mainstream media told us over and over again that a great deal of progress was being made on a trade deal with China and that negotiations would soon reach a final conclusion, but now it has become clear that those news reports were fake news. For a variety of reasons, the Chinese have been slow playing negotiations all along. Once they got the Trump administration to suspend the implementation of any new tariffs while negotiations were ongoing, the Chinese no longer had any urgency to reach an agreement. In fact, if the Chinese could have run out the clock all the way to the 2020 election, they surely would have done so. They would very much prefer to negotiate with someone else, and I think that President Trump has finally figured out that he was being played. On Sunday, in a very angry two part tweet Trump announced that he is going to slap China with huge new tariffs…
For 10 months, China has been paying Tariffs to the USA of 25% on 50 Billion Dollars of High Tech, and 10% on 200 Billion Dollars of other goods. These payments are partially responsible for our great economic results. The 10% will go up to 25% on Friday. 325 Billions Dollars….
…of additional goods sent to us by China remain untaxed, but will be shortly, at a rate of 25%. The Tariffs paid to the USA have had little impact on product cost, mostly borne by China. The Trade Deal with China continues, but too slowly, as they attempt to renegotiate. No!
In response to Trump’s angry tweets, the Chinese suggested that they may cancel this week’s negotiations…
Chinese Vice Premier Liu He had planned to bring a large delegation to Washington on Wednesday to hash out a trade deal — and there’d been talk in recent days that something resembling a deal could result. Instead, two sources briefed on the talks said the Chinese side may back out of this week’s negotiations.
That was pegged to Trump’s new threats, they said, which abandon a six-month truce after Beijing waffled on some previously discussed commitments.
And according to reporter Edward Lawrence, the negotiations have now officially been canceled…
Chinese Vice Premier Liu He has cancelled his trip to Washington this week for trade talks following a tweet by President Donald Trump threatening more tariffs because the talks have moved too slowly. #China #Trade #Breaking
Needless to say, global financial markets did not respond well to this news. For most of the year, hope that a trade agreement was imminent had lifted stocks, but now that hope appears to be gone.
In Asia, the major Chinese markets were all down more than 5 percent overnight…
Asia Pacific stocks tumbled in Monday morning trade following a re-escalation in U.S.-China trade tensions as President Donald Trump declared an impending increase in tariffs rates on $200 billion of Chinese goods.
The mainland Chinese markets plunged in morning trade. The Shanghai composite, Shenzhen composite and Shenzhen component all plunged more than 5% each.
And oil prices immediately began falling as well…
Oil prices also saw sharp declines in the morning of Asian trading hours, with U.S. crude futures dropping 2.34% to $60.49 per barrel. For its part, international benchmark Brent crude futures also declined 2.09% to $69.37 per barrel.
Unfortunately, this is likely to be far more than just a temporary setback for the markets. Unless a trade deal can be salvaged somehow, things are likely to get very “interesting” quite rapidly.
According to one top expert quoted by CNBC, this “has all the makings of a complete disaster that could lead the stock market to crater this week and send those external risks to the US economic outlook soaring”…
“Another turn of the screw tighter Sunday from the President’s hard-ball tactics with the China trade talks, and his pair of tweets look like they could unleash a sharp stock market correction,” said Chris Rupkey, chief financial economist at MUFG Union Bank, in a note. “For weeks now markets have been lulled to sleep on the US trade war with China thinking an agreement was imminent. No more.”
“This has all the makings of a complete disaster that could lead the stock market to crater this week and send those external risks to the US economic outlook soaring,” he added.
Could this be one of the triggers that pushes us over the edge and into the economic abyss?
Even without the collapse of trade talks with China, we were definitely heading toward a recession anyway. I really like how economist John Williams made this point during a recent interview with Greg Hunter…
“We have a recession in place. It’s just a matter of playing out in some of these other funny numbers. The reality is on the downside, where you have mixed pressures right now. People who are really concerned about the economy right now, and that includes President Trump looking at re-election, he’s been arguing that the Fed should lower rates, and I am with him. The Fed created this circumstance. They are pushing for the economy on the upside because they want to continue to keep raising rates. Banks make more money with higher rates, and they are still trying to liquidate the problems they created when they bailed out the banking system back in 2008.”
The first few months of 2019 have been surprisingly quiet, but now events appear to be accelerating in a major way.
SO HOLD ON TIGHT, BECAUSE IT APPEARS THAT A VERY BUMPY RIDE IS AHEAD.
