Pastor J.D. talks about why there’s a movement to remove Israel’s Prime Minister and the U.S. President.

(Romans 12:2) to seek God’s will, the Lord says, Do not worry about what you’ll eat or drink or wear. But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well
(Matt. 6:31-33).

QUESTION:    Thanks again for this opportunity to ask a good bible teacher a question. Is there a difference between the Holy Ghost and the Holy Spirit?
EXAMPLE:   Act 8:17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise,
If they are one in the same, why did they have to lay hands on to recieve one time, and only had to believe another time.
Thank you very much for your time and God bless you even more.
ANSWER:    The term Holy Ghost is used 90 times in the KJV while Holy Spirit is used 7. The Hebrew and Greek words are exactly the same in all instances. No one can explain why the KJV translators chose to use one term in some places and the other one in others.
In Acts 8 there was a question in the mind of the believers in Jerusalem as to whether the Samaritans had fully apprehended the Christian faith, even though Phillip had preached the Gospel to them and baptized them in the name of Jesus. (The Phillip mentioned here was one of the seven deacons chosen by the Apostles, not the Apostle by the same name.)
Some conclude that only the Apostles could impart the Holy Spirit at this time and that’s why Peter and John were sent to lay hands on them.
Others contend that the involvement of Simon the Sorcerer cast doubt on the legitimacy of their baptisms. Simon was thought by the early Church to be an arch heretic, the father of what became known as the Gnostic error.
Whether these opinions reveal what was behind the Samaritan issue or not, the Apostles were sufficiently concerned that they sent Peter and John to make sure the conversions there were legitimate.
In any case Paul later clarified the matter for believers in his letters to the Ephesians (1:13-14) the Corinthians (2 Cor 1:21-22) and the Galatians (3:2). When we hear the gospel and believe it, the Lord marks us with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit. No more is required.

QUESTION:    I have been attending a great bible teaching church and in the last few month have come to realize that the pastor believes that we don’t receive the Holy Spirit until we are baptized. We have spoken at length and agree that when you believe on Jesus as your Savior you are saved and will spend eternity with him and the father. He says that Ephesians 1:13-14 is saying we are sealed (as in marked) for our future inheritance, but the spirit doesn’t dwell and live within us until we get baptized and that is when we receive the promise of the Father. He says the Lord’s own baptism is our example of this and in Acts 2:38 Peter placed baptism before receiving the Holy Spirit.
I think that baptism is very important and we should do it because it is commanded and it is a public display of our choice to be a follower of Christ, but I disagree with my pastor on this issue. I have studied at length and hoped you might help?
ANSWER:    I disagree with your pastor’s interpretation on several counts. There’s no reason to believe Jesus was only prophesying about the Holy Spirit in John 20:22. It’s reasonable to assume that having first been followers of John, several of the Lord’s disciples had been baptized. But there’s nothing in the Biblical record indicating that they all were, and even those who were did not receive the Holy Spirit at the time. Neither did a baptism precede either the event in the Upper Room or the Day of Pentecost. A literal reading of Ephesians 1:13-14 clearly says the Holy Spirit was sealed within us at the moment of belief. Paul repeated this promise in 2 Cor. 1:21-22 and 2 Cor. 5:5 without mentioning baptism. Saying he thought it would be redundant to mention baptism is putting words in his mouth.
It’s important to remember that in Acts 2 Peter was speaking in the Temple to a Jewish audience who had a different understanding of baptism than we do. They had used baptism (they called it a Mikvah) for centuries as a rite of purification before the Sabbath or a marriage or some other important undertaking. The Church uses baptism as a public declaration of having been born again. So for them it preceded an important change, while for us it follows it.
Also, to say that Jesus did not possess the Holy Spirit before His baptism is tantamount to denying His deity from birth. It would mean that before the baptism He was just an ordinary man. Remember John, who had known Jesus all His life, questioned His need for one. I believe He was being obedient to the Law by taking a mikvah at the outset of His ministry. The sign of the Holy Spirit descending upon Him was to show He was being equipped for ministry and to give an indication of His Father’s pleasure (Matt. 3:13-17).
The Holy Spirit dwells within us from the moment of belief to guide and direct us. But once in a while, He may come upon us in power to equip us for a special task or challenge. This is what happened with Jesus, it’s what happened with the disciples, and it’s what happens with us.
You and your pastor agree that this is not a salvation issue. Personally, I think if this is all you can find to disagree about, you should consider yourself blessed.

Russia’s Geopolitical Rivals Preparing For Space Wars And More Conflicts: Russian General
Chief of the Russian General Staff and First Deputy Defence Minister, General Valery Gerasimov told reporters Saturday that the US is preparing to wage wars against a “high-tech adversary,” which will involve high-precision air and space-based missiles, electronic warfare weapons, and active information warfare.
“Therefore, the search for rational strategies for waging war with a different adversary is of paramount importance for the development of the theory and practice of military strategy. We need to clarify the essence and content of military strategy, the principles of prevention, preparation for war and its conduct”, the Chief of the General Staff said.
He told reporters that Russian Armed Forces were actively preparing for war and armed conflicts on the modern battlefield by developing “classical” and “asymmetric” warfare techniques.
Gerasimov warned that the US and its allies have set aggressive tones in their foreign policy, and are working on offensive military operations.
The US and its western allies are planning to eliminate statehood in weak countries, which is evident by the recent developments in Venezuela, he noted.
“The United States and its allies have determined the aggressive vector of their foreign policy. They are working on offensive military actions, such as global strike, a multi-sphere battle, they are using the color revolution technology and soft power. They aim to eliminate the statehood of countries they dislike, undermine sovereignty, change the legally elected bodies of state power”, Gerasimov stated.
He mentioned Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and Ukraine as examples of such a strategy.
“At present, similar actions are being observed in Venezuela”, Gerasimov noted.
He further went into detail on how the Pentagon has developed a new warfare strategy centered on using protests to trigger social destabilization in targeted countries while simultaneously striking high-value targets with precision weapons.
“The Pentagon has begun to develop a fundamentally new strategy of warfare, which has already been dubbed the Trojan Horse. Its essence lies in the active use of the protest potential of the ‘fifth column’ for the destabilisation of a situation while simultaneously attacking the most important facilities with high-precision weapons”, Gerasimov told reporters.
According to Gerasimov, Russia will combat this new type of warfare by deploying an active defense approach, which provides room for pre-emptive measures to neutralize threats to the security of the state.
“The justification of the measures that are being developed should constitute the scientific activity of military scientists. This is one of the priority areas for ensuring state security. We must be ahead of the enemy in the development of military strategy, one step ahead,” Gerasimov said.
He added that Russia’s involvement in the Syrian conflict allowed them to develop and employ a new practical sphere in the Russian defense strategy. This means defending Russian national interests beyond the state borders in the framework of the “strategy of limited actions.”
The basis of this new strategy is to create a rapid response force, which is capable of completing missions. In Syria, the Russian Aerospace Forces became the core of such an effective power.
The critical components of this strategy, according to Gerasimov, are information warfare, rapid deployment of forces, and readiness of the managing systems in advance.
Gerasimov’s statements come ten days after the Venezuelan opposition party attempted to truck in trailers of US-sponsored aid into Venezuela through its borders with Colombia and Brazil, which sparked violent protests between Venezuelan officers and pro-aid protesters. President Nicholas Maduro condemned unauthorized aid delivery as part of Washington’s pilot test before military intervention.

In first, US deploys advanced THAAD missile defense system in Israel
The US military deployed in Israel for the first time its most advanced missile defense system as part of an exercise with the Israeli military.
In a statement Monday, the Israel Defense Forces said the United States European Command’s deployment of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) was meant to drill dispatching the system quickly across the world and working together with Israeli air defenses against threats such as long-range ballistic missiles.
“The IDF is working in cooperation with US forces in order to enhance coordination between the two militaries and to strengthen the ability to defend Israeli airspace,” it said.
The military stressed THAAD’s presence in Israel was strictly defensive and “not related to any specific event.”
“The IDF is grateful for this exercise and stands ready to protect Israel’s airspace and civilians against a variety of threats from near and far,” the IDF said.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who also serves as defense minister, said the deployment was “further evidence of the US’s commitment to Israel’s security.”
“Together with our defense systems we are even stronger in dealing with threats from throughout the Middle East,” he said in a video released by his office.
“Israel-US ties have never been stronger. I welcome the joint drill.”
US European Command (EUCOM) said the deployment was ordered by acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan and was meant to demonstrate America’s “continued commitment” to Israel’s security.
“This deployment incorporates key capabilities, systems and people stationed in the continental United States and Europe, and with our partners in the Israel Defense Force,” it said in a statement released by the US Embassy in Israel.

Hamas chief warns Netanyahu against Gaza ‘adventure’ as violence ratchets up
The Palestinian terror group Hamas warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday against any military “adventure” in the Gaza Strip ahead of Israeli elections next month, as tensions spiraled along the restive frontier with Israel.
Netanyahu is currently battling for re-election for a fifth term, facing a tough challenge from a centrist political alliance as well as a planned indictment on corruption charges.
Asked about a potential Israeli military operation, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh told journalists: “If the (Israeli) occupation or Netanyahu think of an adventure, I think they will pay the price that will send them away.”
“We do not fear any adventures from Netanyahu towards Gaza… The resistance has its eyes open,” added Haniyeh.
Haniyeh’s comments came amid a recent increase in the level of violence along the Gaza border, with near nightly Palestinian riots and a return of airborne arson attacks, which had waned in light of a de facto ceasefire in November.
On Monday, Israeli attack helicopters hit two Hamas positions in southern Gaza in response to an explosive device that was carried into Israel by balloons launched from the Palestinian enclave, the army said.
It was Israel’s fourth retaliatory airstrike against the terror group in the past three days.
It came after a bunch of balloons carrying explosives came down between two buildings in the Eshkol Regional Council, the council said in a statement. The bomb exploded, but caused neither injuries nor damage. Two more balloons with explosives blew up in the air over Israeli territory later in the day as Palestinians rioted near the border, the army said.
Netanyahu and his chief challenger Benny Gantz have attacked each other over their records in Gaza. Gantz was the head of the Israeli military during the 2014 war between Israel and Gaza.
Many analysts believe Netanyahu wants to avoid an escalation in Gaza with unpredictable results ahead of April 9 polls.

IDF helicopters pound Hamas positions in response to explosive balloon
IDF attack helicopters hit two positions of the Hamas terror group in the southern Gaza Strip on Monday in response to an explosive device that was carried into Israel by balloons launched from the Palestinian enclave, the army said.
It was Israel’s fourth retaliatory airstrike against the terror group in the past three days.
It came after a bunch of balloons carrying explosives came down between two buildings in the Eshkol Regional Council, the council said in a statement. The bomb exploded but caused neither injuries nor damage.
On Sunday night an Israeli military drone bombed a Hamas position in the northern Gaza Strip in response to a violent riot along the border nearby, according to Palestinian media.
Members of a so-called “confusion unit” held a violent demonstration along the security fence in the northern Gaza Strip, east of Beit Hanoun, burning tires and setting off many explosive devices near the border.
“An Israel Defense Forces aircraft attacked a Hamas post in response to the throwing of explosive devices across the security fence in the northern Gaza Strip,” the army said at the time.
It appeared to be the military’s first time conducting such an attack in response to riots along the security fence itself, rather than to cross-border violence directed toward Israeli civilian communities.
Hours later, the regional council said two more balloons flown from the Strip exploded in the air. It also said Palestinians were taking part in violent protests on the Gaza side of the border and warned residents that further explosions would likely be heard in the area
“The IDF is on the scene and in control,” the council said in a statement.
After halting their activities for several months, the Palestinian “confusion units” recently returned to the Gaza border, holding riots at various locations along the security fence each night in an effort to maintain pressure on Israel by tormenting civilians living nearby and troops serving on the border.
On Saturday evening, the Israeli army said its aircraft fired at targets in the southern Gaza Strip in response to a cluster of balloons attached to an incendiary device that was launched from the Strip toward Israel.
The explosive balloons did not cause any injuries or damage.
The border riots are part of the March of Return protests, which have taken place weekly along the border since last March and have periodically escalated into major flare-ups between the Israeli military and Gaza-based terror groups.
Israel has accused Hamas, the terror organization that rules the Strip, of orchestrating the clashes and using them as cover to breach the border fence and carry out attacks.
Recent weeks have seen a dramatic increase in the level of violence along the Gaza border, with near nightly riots and a return of airborne arson attacks, which had waned in light of a de facto ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas at the end of last year.
Despite a dire economic situation, Gaza’s rulers are opting for a measured response to border protest deaths. But a mass protest planned for Land Day on March 30 could lead to war
Fifty-two point one percent.
That is the current unemployment rate in the Gaza Strip. Every second adult is unemployed. Among the young, educated population, the rate is even more striking: over 70%. The numbers are almost incomprehensible.
Gaza’s economy is stuck and has no growth stimuli. Residents may have more hours of electricity per day than in the past — eight — but their future is looking dimmer than ever. If anyone is wondering why we have been seeing another increase over the last two weeks in so-called “popular terrorism” — incendiary balloons, improvised explosives, etc. — the Strip’s economy can supply a sad but sufficient explanation.
And that is just the beginning. At the end of the month Palestinians will be marking “Land Day,” a year since the tactic of mass demonstrations on the border was first implemented. And if until recently it seemed like the Hamas terror group and its leader Yahya Sinwar had an achievement or two to show for it — notably the $15 million monthly cash transfer from Qatar that enabled salary payments to Hamas employees — that has now vanished.
Hamas doesn’t seem to be planning a major escalation of tensions, at least until the end of the month. It is using the weekly Friday protests and other activities as a means of letting off steam. Gazans have been increasingly critical of Hamas over the halt in salary payments and the lack of response to the recent killing of three teenagers by IDF forces during border riots.
Instead of being dragged into an all-out war, Hamas has opted for increasing the daily tensions with Israel. But when the organization speaks about a “million-man march,” it is clear that March 30 will bring something different. And in the Gaza pressure cooker, in which the young generation has no hope, it is likely we will find many of them near the fence, with Hamas’s encouragement.

Bill Wilson –
The headlines we are reading and hearing are about division, obstruction, and revolution. The Democratic Party, led by socialists and communists, have commandeered the media stage with accusation after accusation, investigation after investigation, pitting citizens against citizens, social position against social position, race against race, ethnicity against ethnicity, projection of bigotry, hate, racism, and phobias. This country is divided by a minority of bullies who are dead set on toppling the world’s greatest country and pillaging it of its wealth and resources. America is in a battle for its very soul, for its very existence. A specific future event related to Israel may determine the outcome of our nation as we know it.
In 2005, when president George W. Bush coerced and pressured then Prime Minister of Israel Ariel Sharon to remove some 8,500 Israeli Jews from Gaza, the United States embarked on a collision course with the one true God. It was within a few days that Katrina hit the US coast. Inside of six months, Sharon suffered a stroke and died in 2014 after lingering in “a persistent vegetative state.” America elected a sympathetic Marxist Islamist as president who promised “A New Beginning” with Muslims in his first major speech in Cairo. Israel came under constant attack as that president supported the Muslim Brotherhood-inspired Arab Spring rebellion of anti-Israel interests across the Middle East. During that time, America suffered with national disasters, high unemployment, rising national debt and a host of political disruptions.
President Donald Trump has been a strong supporter of Israel, reversing the political and spiritual direction of the previous administration. He has restored relations, recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, and has moved the US Embassy there in a historic reversal of previous presidents. The United States has seen a turn around in its economy, yet the lingering political disruption has accelerated. The combination of the communistic insurrection fomented by the Democratic Party, the soaring national debt, and one explicit decision by Trump in the near future might form a perfect storm that could determine America’s position in prophecy.
If Trump’s Middle East peace plan seeks to divide Israel with a Palestinian state, there will be consequences. The stage is set with political unrest, economic imbalance, and spiritual emptiness to severely cripple America. These conditions, if they came to maturity simultaneously, could remove the United States from effectively standing in the gap for Israel, which in turn could clear the way for the end time beast to arise.
As promised by God in Genesis 12:3 regarding Israel,
“And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curses thee…”
THE WARNING SIGNS ARE HERE BEFORE US. We need to stand as Christians ought to stand, pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and act as God would have us act. We can’t stop the march of prophecy, but it is far better for America to be on the side of God when the Messiah returns.

Pakistan won’t hesitate to use nukes in face of defeat against India, warns Amarinder Singh
Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh on Monday cautioned that Pakistan would not hesitate to use its nuclear arsenal if it felt it was losing out against India in a conventional battle.
Refusing to comment on the casualty figure in the Indian Air Force strikes on a terror camp in Balakot in Pakistan, Singh, who has served as Army Captain, said, “Whether it was one killed or 100, the message has gone out loud and clear – India will not let the killing of its innocent soldiers and citizens go unpunished.”
He asserted that neither country could afford a full-scale war.
”Pakistan will not hesitate to use its nuclear arsenal if it felt it is losing out against India in a conventional war,” Singh told the media here.
Pointing out that both India and Pakistan were nuclear powers, he said it was not in either country’s interest to use the weapons of destruction but Islamabad could “indulge in such a misadventure if faced with defeat in other battles”.
The IAF strikes had proven India’s resolve to deal with the problem in the wake of the Pulwama attack on a CRPF convoy, the CM said.
And though both are nuclear power countries, Pakistan could act out of desperation to use its nuclear weapons if they found themselves cornered, he warned.

Indian Forces Shot Down Paksitani UAV India’s Airspace
On March 4, a Sukhoi-30MKI fighter jet of the Indian Air Force shot down a Pakistani unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in India’s airspace, near the contested region Jammu and Kashmir, according to Indian sources.
Reports suggest that the downed UAV crashed on the Pakistani side of the contact line, near the area of Toba. Indian sources suggest that the UAV was intercepted in the same area where an aerial confrontation took place between Indian and Pakistani forces on February 27.
BREAKING: Top sources say unidentified Pak aircraft (likely drone) violated airspace around 11.30am at int’l border in Rajasthan. IAF jet scrambled, engaged with air-to-air missile, debris fell near Pak sand dune feature called MW Toba (not Fort Abbas). OFFICIAL WORD awaited
— Shiv Aroor (@ShivAroor) March 4, 2019
These reports have not been officially confirmed so far. However, if the incident really took place, it may lead to another round of escalation between the sides.
Sukhoi downs Pakistan drone on Rajasthan border
An Indian fighter shot down a Pakistani unmanned aerial vehicle on Monday after it came across the international border in Rajasthan, in the third such incident amid heightened tensions along the borders since the February 26 air strikes on a major Jaish-e-Mohammed facility at Balakot in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.
Fighters were scrambled from the Suratgrah and Nal airbases after the airspace violation was detected by air defence radars in the Anupgarh-Bikaner sector around 11.30 am. “The unidentified flying object, which was flying at the speed of a UAV(Unmanned aerial vehicle) or drone, was brought down by an air-to-air missile fired by a Sukhoi-30MKI. The wreckage could not be recovered since it fell across the border near a feature called MW Toba,” a source said
Barely three hours after the pre-dawn air strikes on Balakot on February 26, a Pakistani UAV was shot down along the Kutch border in Gujarat around 6.30 am. “Another drone like object was shot down along the border with Barmer district of Rajasthan a couple of days later. Pakistan is obviously trying to put pressure and test our defences in the Rajasthan sector,” the source said.
Both sides are maintaining a high level of operational readiness, which also includes some re-deployment of mechanised forces along the international border in Rajasthan. “Though there is no large-scale troop mobilisation by us, we have undertaken some precautionary movements and re-adjustments to be ready for any eventuality,” said an officer.

Mass arrests of Chinese megachurch members continue; some ‘violently beaten’
Nearly 50 more members, including 11 kids, of a Chinese megachurch closed down by the communist government in December were arrested at two different venues last Sunday, a watchdog group has reported.
Following the closing of Chengdu’s Early Rain Covenant Church and the arrest of its pastor, Wang Yi, on Dec. 9 for “inciting subversion of state power,” government actors are continuing to harass members of the congregation as they gather for worship inside of homes.
According to an update from the church, multiple homes that were hosting prayer gatherings on Feb. 24 were surrounded by police officers who ultimately interrupted the proceedings. At two of the home church services, every person in attendance was detained.
China Aid founder Bob Fu, a well-respected human rights activist who has on a number of occasions testified before Congress, tweeted that at least 11 of those who were arrested in Chengdu received a punishment of 10 to 14 days “administrative detention.”
“Arbitrary arrest continues,” Fu stressed. “Walk with the these Persecuted.”
There were reports of children, the elderly and even a pregnant woman being mistreated. Pastor Wang’s elderly mother was reportedly insulted and beaten.
According to a statement released by the church, two Christians who were arrested were “violently beaten.”
“Tang Chunliang and his wife were hit in the face by a plainclothes police officer at the police station,” the update reads.  “Some, including children, did not eat anything. Some were not released until 2:00 a.m. Tired children slept on ice-cold tables and floors. Others were not released until 6:00 a.m.”
On Saturday, two more churchgoers were arrested when they went to the Chengdu Police Station to visit their detained friends.
“They were then taken to the Taisheng Road Police Station, where they were locked up and interrogated,” a March 2 statement from the church reads. “At 2:00 p.m., while being interrogated, they were personally humiliated, abused, and violently beaten by seven to eight police officers from the Chengdu Taisheng Road Police Station. They were detained for nearly eight hours.”
Arrests and detentions are not the only forms of harassment the Early Rain Covenant members have faced. According to the church, authorities have put pressure on landlords and employers. This has resulted in some churchgoers losing their homes and jobs. Some have had to move back to their hometowns.
At least one family of a church elder has been forced to move on multiple occasions as they have been deemed “illegal residents.”
“Each time they are evicted, they find a new place to live,” a church statement from Feb. 22 reads. “Then, after they’ve spent a few days adapting to their new home, police and national security come to their door and, through various methods, drive the family out of their home again.”
In December following the arrest of Pastor Wang, over 160 church members were arrested.
China’s crackdown on non-state-sponsored religion has seen the demolition of churches and the removal of hundreds of crosses from churches.

Fighting the Palestinians’ Weaponization of the ICC
The Palestinians have weaponized the International Criminal Court (ICC). Leveraging the decision of the United Nations General Assembly to bestow Palestine with the title “Non-Member Observer State,” the Palestinian leaders decided to join the ICC, which accepted its application with open arms. Then, on May 15, 2018, the Palestinians exercised their “right as a State Party to the Rome Statute to refer the Situation of Palestine for immediate investigation” to the ICC prosecutor, who had previously opened an informal “preliminary examination” on her own initiative.
The Palestinians’ referral checked many of the boxes defining the crimes subject to ICC jurisdiction, particularly crimes against humanity and war crimes.
They charged that the “unlawful occupation of the territory of the State of Palestine and the establishment and maintenance of settlements by Israel in Occupied Palestinian Territory (“OPT”), including East Jerusalem, has (sic) involved the enactment and maintenance of a multi-layered system of violence and intimidation against the Palestinian population, the destruction and unlawful appropriation of their properties, the severe violation of their fundamental rights on discriminatory grounds and the institutionalization of a separate structure of life and dual system of law and other measures deliberately intended to change the demographic composition of the OPT, including in particular in East Jerusalem. It has also involved the widespread and systematic attack on the Palestinian civilian population, through the commission of crimes, to create and perpetuate such a regime. These acts qualify under the Rome Statute as both war crimes and crimes against humanity.”
On May 24, 2018, the ICC’s Presidency assigned the “Situation in Palestine” to the ICC’s Pre-Trial Chamber, which took steps to begin informing alleged “victims” as to the ICC’s role and activities, so they can “properly exercise their rights.”
The ICC’s chief prosecutor Fatou Bensouda’s office issued its “Report on Preliminary Examination Activities” for 2018 on December 5, 2018, which included a section on the Palestinian situation. It appears that a decision is near on whether to open a formal investigation into Israeli actions in the West Bank and Gaza mentioned in the report…
Israel’s Foreign Ministry stated its official position with respect to any ICC proceedings brought against it: “Israel is not a member of the International Criminal Court and our clear stance is that the court does not have authority to deal with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, among other things because the Palestinian Authority is not a state.”
Is Palestine a genuine state? Not really, but that does not matter to the ICC
Israel is right that the Palestinian Authority is not a state in any meaningful sense. Given the Palestinian Authority’s split with Hamas which controls Gaza, the Palestinian Authority is a dysfunctional entity without full control under a unified government of the territory or population it claims comprises the “State of Palestine.”
However, such an inconvenient fact is unlikely to stop the ICC from proceeding with a formal investigation and possible charges against Israeli political leaders, security police, and Israeli Defense Force (IDF) military personnel. The problem is that many states – with the notable exception of the U.S. for now – will abide by the decisions of the ICC and enforce any arrest warrants against Israelis traveling outside of Israel that the ICC may choose to issue.
The time is drawing near when the Palestinians’ lawfare strategy against Israel is likely to fully bloom, with the help of the ICC. Israel will need to be prepared immediately both to defend itself and to move to offense. This article has laid out a framework for such a multi-tiered response.

Investors Brace For Impact As The Cancer Ravaging “The Real Economy” Starts To Spread
Debt delinquencies are at unprecedented levels, bankruptcies are soaring, retail stores are closing at a record pace, this is the worst economy for farmers since the early 1980s, exports are plummeting and a brand new real estate crisis has now begun.  Economic cancer is rapidly spreading throughout our country, and the U.S. economy is deteriorating at the fastest pace that we have seen since the last recession.  So how long will it be before Wall Street catches up with economic reality?
The retail industry is being hit particularly hard.  At the end of last week, major retailers announced 465 store closings in a single 48 hour period…
The ‘retail apocalypse’ is alive and well this week with major chains such as Gap, JCPenney, Victoria’s Secret and Foot Locker all announcing massive closures, totalling the death of more than 465 stores over the last 48 hours.
And those closings already bring the grand total for 2019 to “a whopping 4,309 store closures”
That builds on recent store closure announcements by Gymboree, Payless ShoeSource, Charlotte Russe and Ann Taylor parent company Ascena Retail, to name a few. A whopping 4,309 store closures were announced by retailers just in the first two months of this year, Coresight Research said in a research note on Friday. That’s well ahead of the number of announcements the market research firm was tracking this same time a year ago, it said.
The term “retail apocalypse” is being thrown around so frequently these days that it has almost lost its meaning, but the worst is yet to come.
Meanwhile, layoffs are starting to come fast and furious now.  For example, I was recently made aware of major job cuts that just happened in North Carolina
Duke Energy Corp. eliminated 1,900 positions in its latest round of job reductions, largely through voluntary buyouts but with some involuntary layoffs included.
For the first time since the last recession, I think that it is time to start visiting sites like Daily Job Cuts on a regular basis once again.  Millions of Americans lost their jobs in 2008 and 2009, and a lot of you can still remember how painful that was.
In the middle of the country, the big news is “the farm apocalypse”.  Last week, we learned that farm debt has now jumped 30 percent since 2013…
“Farm debt has been rising more rapidly over the last five years, increasing by 30% since 2013 – up from $315 billion to $409 billion, according to USDA data, and up from $385 billion in just the last year – to levels seen in the 1980s,” Perdue said in his testimony to the House Agriculture Committee.
As a result of this giant mountain of debt, a ton of small and mid-size farms are going under.  As I noted the other day, farm debt delinquencies have now reached the highest level that we have witnessed in 9 years.
I really, really don’t understand the people that are telling us that everything is going to be okay.
Everything is not okay, and things are getting worse with each passing day.  ISM’s manufacturing survey just hit the lowest level in 26 months, and for a whole bunch more extremely ominous economic numbers please see my previous article entitled “18 Really Big Numbers That Show That The U.S. Economy Is Starting To Fall Apart Very Rapidly”.
Of course it isn’t just the U.S. that is hurting.  Up north, Canada is literally teetering on the brink of recession
The Canadian government shocked the professional financial and economic media with their latest fourth quarter GDP releaseshowing the economy has essentially come to a grinding halt at 0.1% growth.
And over in Europe, things are arguably even worse.  Germany is supposed to have the strongest economy in the entire region, but they are also right on the brink of recession
The country’s economy just escaped entering recession territory last month, with GDP growing at just zero percent following a 0.4 percent contraction in the previous three-month period. But Germany could be just weeks away from a recession-threatening double whammy as a potential no-deal Brexit and Donald Trump’s warning to hike car tariffs by up to 25 percent could send the economy tumbling. Chancellor Angela Merkel’s ministers have entered into a frantic plan to avert an economic catastrophe which could end Europe’s biggest economy’s golden growth for a decade.
This is a global economic slowdown, and many believe that it will be even worse than what we experienced in 2008.
But as I have previously warned, we aren’t just heading toward an economic storm.  Everything that can be shaken will be shaken, and that includes our governmental institutions.
On Sunday, we learned that the House Judiciary Committee is opening an investigation into obstruction of justice by President Trump.  The following comes from Reuters
The House Judiciary Committee will seek documents from more than 60 people and organizations as it begins investigations into possible obstruction of justice and abuse of power by President Donald Trump, the panel’s chairman said on Sunday.
Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler told ABC’s “This Week” the panel wanted documents from the Department of Justice, the president’s son Donald Trump Jr. and Trump Organization chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg, among others.

Joel C, Rosenberg –
Though he was sharply criticized by the media and many foreign policy analysts for a “failed” summit in Hanoi, President Donald J. Trump was absolutely right to walk away from talks that were going in the wrong direction.
Given Trump’s penchant for publicity, it might have been easy – tempting, even – for him to have accepted a far-from-perfect offer from the Dear Leader of Pyongyang, held a joint press conference, and claimed victory in hopes of winning the news cycle.
But it became apparent to the president – along with his chief aides Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and National Security Adviser John Bolton – that Kim Jong Un has not yet truly decided to dismantle his illegal nuclear weapons program in return for sanctions relief, security guarantees and international economic assistance.
Trump knew the deal’s flaws would have been quickly exposed. What’s more, he knew that appearing too eager to cut a deal with a regime that already has upwards of 60 operational nuclear warheads would have cut against his “Art of the Deal” brand, and further undermined American credibility and leverage so badly squandered during the Obama-Biden years.
“Sometimes you have to walk, and this was just one of those times,” Trump said.
I have not always agreed with Trump’s policies or public statements, but in this case I can honestly say, “Good for him.”
What a contrast to the approach taken by President Barack Obama. The liberal Democrat from Chicago famously won glorious headlines and international accolades in 2015 for agreeing to the infamous nuclear deal with Iran known formally as the “Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.” Some wags at the time even suggested the deal helped to “retroactively justify” the Nobel Peace Prize that Obama won in 2009.
Yet the JCPOA was fatally flawed from the beginning. It did not prevent Iran from enriching uranium. It did not require Iran to scrap its nuclear industry. It did not provide for surprise international inspections of all Iranian nuclear and military sites. Nor will it prevent Iran from one day building an ever-expanding arsenal of nuclear warheads. Rather, at best, it merely delays that fateful moment for a 10 to 15 years, three years of which have already ticked by.
If this weren’t bad enough, the JCPOA did nothing to bring a halt to Iran’s feverish efforts to build ballistic missiles with ever-increasing ranges. Nor did it bring a halt to Iran’s military and financial support for terrorist organizations, from Hezbollah to Hamas to the Houthi rebels in Yemen. Nor did its negotiators even try to achieve these aims.
For these and myriad other reasons, Trump and his advisers scrapped the JCPOA in May 2018, and re-imposed crippling economic sanctions on the Iranian regime.
THERE WAS no way, then, that Trump was going to show weakness in Hanoi. He knew full well the Iranians were watching very closely and was determined to ratchet up the pressure on both the Iranians and the North Koreans, to give up their dangerous quests for nuclear warheads and the missiles to deliver them, or face devastating consequences.
There is another element at play here of which few Americans are aware.
For years, Tehran and Pyongyang have been working together closely on a variety of military matters. There is no question they are assisting each other’s ballistic missile programs, and have been since the 1980s. But are they also secretly cooperating on the development of nuclear warheads?
The premise at the heart of my forthcoming political thriller, The Persian Gamble, is this: What if Tehran decided to use the $150 billion in cash it received from the West for agreeing to the Iran nuclear deal to secretly purchase five fully operational nuclear warheads from the cash-starved regime in Pyongyang, even while publicly pretending to adhere to the JCPOA? Might the ayatollahs try to bring such warheads into an Iranian harbor, right under the noses of the CIA and the Mossad? It would be an enormously risky move. But it is conceivable they could conclude the gamble was worth it.
American, Israeli and Arab intelligence officials I spoke with as I was researching and writing the novel say they have not seen evidence that Iran is literally trying to buy operational warheads “off the shelf.” Not yet, anyway.
However, they note with concern the fact that senior Iranian military and nuclear officials have been present for at least three North Korean nuclear warhead tests, and maybe more. They acknowledge it is conceivable that Pyongyang could be selling Tehran the data from each of these tests, helping the Iranians fine-tune plans to build their own warheads without having to test them during the period of the JCPOA.
“I have no doubt the proliferation tie between Iran and North Korea is real and active,” one former senior US intelligence official told me.
The prospect of the world’s two most dangerous rogue regimes teaming up to build the world’s most deadly weapons – along with the ICBMs to deliver them into American and Israeli cities – would be chilling enough if it was only fiction. The prospect that any of this could actually be true in real life makes me all the more glad President Trump is getting tough with both regimes when his predecessor did not.
