Matthew 24:3-14 3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” 4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all[a] these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences,[b] and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.
11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Prophecy Update End Times News Headlines – 5/13/19 A fast-paced highlight and review of the major news stories and headlines that relate to Bible Prophecy and the End Times… All the signs of the last days are converging at the same time. Bible Prophecy is happening right before our eyes and like birth pains, the predicted events are happening more frequently and more intently. Never, in the history throughout the world have so many forces, including economic, scientific, techno-logic, ecologic, cultural, geopolitical, moral, spiritual and religion, converged together to bring this world that’s already teetering over the edge into the abyss, to a point of no return. Jesus said when you see all these signs happening, know that I am near, even at the door.

Luke 12:37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them
(Romans 12:2) to seek God’s will, the Lord says, Do not worry about what you’ll eat or drink or wear. But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well
(Matt. 6:31-33).
Rev. 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth:
so won’t you accept Jesus now and be removed from that event and live forever with Jesus in the Family of God?
2 “(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)” (2nd Corinthians 2:6)

QUESTION:    At the end of the Millennium, who will be resurrected? Will they all be judged at the Great White Throne? Will we witness this? that is, will we see the resurrected before the Throne? Will they all be sent to Hell? Some have said we will be aware of their punishment; that we will be taken to see the damned and witness their condition. In Eternity, will we, can we, be aware of the damned?
ANSWER:    At the end of the Millennium the unsaved dead from all ages will be resurrected to face judgment at the Great White Throne (Rev. 20:11-15). I tend to think the Church will not witness this judgment. If it’s true that the rapture brings a new life of everlasting joy, how could we be made to witness the judgment of unbelievers, some of whom we’ll know?
The dead will be judged according to their works, but since the only work God requires of man is that we believe in the one He sent (John 6:28-29), I assume this will be the standard for judgment.
In John 15:5 and 1 Cor. 3:12-15 we’re told that work we do apart from the Lord is of no value, no matter the outcome, so I don’t think unbelievers will be judged on the “quality” of their lives. Those whose names aren’t found in the Book of Life will go into the Lake of Fire.
Isaiah 66:24 says the people of Earth will be able to look upon the dead in their torment during the Millennium , but I don’t believe this passage deals with eternity.

QUESTION:    Recently I heard a sermon on “wiping away our tears”. It was stated that Rev. 21:4 was in reference to the Great White Throne judgment. We will witness this judgment and will be sorrowful for who we see condemned to Hell. God will have to wipe away our tears. What are your thoughts?
ANSWER:    According to Rev. 20:5 the unsaved dead will be resurrected at the end of the 1000 year millennium. They’ll be judged before the Great White Throne at that time. Although the verse where God wipes away our tears appears appears later (Rev. 21:4) it actually takes place 1000 years earlier, at the beginning of the Millennium.
The confusion stems from the fact that John described the ultimate destinies of Satan and the unsaved in Rev. 20:7-15 while he was on the subject, before backtracking to the beginning of the Millennium in Rev. 21 to describe the New Jerusalem. We know this because in Rev. 20:7 John wrote “When the 1000 years are over” but he began Rev. 21 with a direct quote from Isaiah 65:17-25, which is a Millennial passage. Also the first 6 verses of Rev 22 mirror a passage from Ezekiel 47:1-12, another description of the Millennium, where it’s clear we’re still governed by time. This is an indication Eternity hasn’t begun yet.
With this understanding you can see that the preacher you heard can’t be correct because after God wipes the tears from our eyes at the beginning of the Millennium we’ll never again experience any death or mourning or crying or pain.

Muslim Countries in the Middle East will launch an attack on Israel
PROPHECY OF ELAM – (Attack on Iran’s Nuclear Program
EZEKIEL 38 & 39

by Oded Granot –
We need to understand that the shockwaves from a clash between the U.S. and Iran, if it indeed occurs, will reach us. If attacked, Tehran will unleash it’s proxies, chief among them Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, against Israel.
Tensions between Iran and the United States inched closer to a boiling point as Israelis were celebrating their country’s independence on Thursday – as the drums of war are beating ever louder in the Persian Gulf even though both sides clearly don’t want one.
The escalation began with a verbal exchange. On the one-year anniversary of the United States’ withdrawal from the nuclear deal, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani told global powers that his country would cease fulfilling its obligations as part of the deal. At this stage, this mostly means Iran will stop shipping abroad its surplus of enriched uranium and heavy water, as it prepares to enrich uranium at a greater pace.
In response, the White House said it would impose additional sanctions on Iran – not just on its oil production, banks and foreign trade, but on its metals industry. This sector is Iran’s top job provider and hurting it could leave many Iranians unemployed, which in turn would increase internal strife.
But the main factor behind increased tensions in the Persian Gulf over the past two days was the Pentagon’s decision to deploy the “Abraham Lincoln” aircraft carrier and four B-52H bombers to Qatar. The backdrop, as conveyed by the Pentagon, were fears that Iran was planning to attack American forces stationed in Iraq, perhaps via Shiite militias that it controls.
It’s hard to misread these developments. After a year of harsh sanctions, the ayatollah regime in Iran is exceedingly frustrated. This frustration stems from the country’s drastic economic downturn, but also from the fact that European countries – who are co-signed to the nuclear deal – have not kept their promises to compensate European companies that continued doing business with Tehran despite the sanctions imposed by Washington.
There’s no question the Trump administration is also disappointed. Although the sanctions are having an effect, they still haven’t forced Iran to wave the white flag and agree to fundamentally amend the nuclear deal to include shelving its ballistic missile project and ceasing its subversive activities via its proxies across the region.
Moreover, if we can assess the situation according to the behaviour of Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Gaza and the latest round of violence with Israel, Iran has only amplified its subversive efforts. This terrorist organization, which is completely subordinate to and entirely funded by Tehran, ignited the latest skirmish by sniping at IDF officers on the border and it is the one presently spearheading, at the behest of Iran, the most aggressive line against Israel.
How will developments in the Persian Gulf unfold in the weeks ahead? It’s too soon to make a determination. The Iranians’ move to cancel “some” of their obligations stipulated by the nuclear deal is not irreversible and was the least they could permit themselves without being accused of violating it. The main objective behind their move is to incentivize the Europeans to fulfil their promises, and Rouhani even declared a 60-day extension for global powers to reconsider – before Iran accelerates its uranium enrichment.
The Trump administration, for its part, stressed that its military reinforcements are only intended to deter Iran from attacking American forces in the region, adding that the purpose for increasing sanctions is to bring Iran back to the negotiating table.
The problem, of course, is that it’s entirely uncertain any of this will actually transpire in the near future. We don’t know if the Europeans will surrender to Iranian extortion, and it’s almost assured that the White House will not halt sanctions before the Iranians agree to re-calibrate their course of action.
This dynamic is a sure-fire recipe for heightened tensions in the Persian Gulf and opens the door for a military escalation. The ayatollah regime, if it feels it must, could renew uranium enrichment and risk a limited military confrontation with the U.S., over the prospect of regime collapse due to domestic revolt amid the country’s increasingly dire economic situation.
We need to understand that the shock-waves from such a clash, if it indeed occurs, will reach us. During the Gulf War, Saddam Hussein launched Scud missiles at Israel. Iran, if it is attacked, will unleash it proxies, chief among them Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, against Israel.

  • Four ships, including two Saudi oil tankers, were damaged in mysterious ‘sabotage attacks’ off the UAE coast
  • One of the commercial ships was said to be en route to pick up Saudi oil to transport to America
  • American military’s initial assessment is that Iran or Iran-backed proxies are responsible for the sttacks
  • Assessment comes amid rising tensions between U.S. and Iran and warnings conflict could break out ‘by accident’
An American military team’s initial assessment is that Iranian or Iranian-backed proxies used explosives Sunday to blow large holes in four ships anchored off the coast of the United Arab Emirates, a U.S. official said Monday.
The official said each ship has a 5- to 10-foot hole in it, near or just below the water line, and the team’s early belief is that the holes were caused by explosive charges.
The team of U.S. military experts was sent to investigate the damages at the request of the UAE, but American officials have not provided any details about what exactly happened or any proof as yet about the possible Iranian involvement in the explosions.
The official was not authorized to discuss the investigation publicly and

Second attack on Gulf oil: Drones drop explosives on two Saudi oil pumping stations
“Two pumping stations on a major Saudi East-West oil pipeline were attacked by drones on Tuesday, May 14, Saudi Energy Minister Khalid Al Falih stated, two days after two Saudi oil tankers were sabotaged outside Fujairah port in UAE Golf of Oman waters.
This attack had drawn no international response after 48 hours. The minister called the attack by drones carrying explosives an act of terrorism that targeted global oil supplies.
The two pumping stations belong to Saudi Aramco, forcing the state oil company to suspend operations to assess what Falih described as “limited damage.” The stations are situated in the Saudi cities of Afif and Dawadmi and are linked to a pipeline transporting oil from the eastern oilfields to the Red Sea port of Yanbu.
Earlier, a television station owned by Yemen’s Iranian-backed Houthi insurgents claimed drone attacks on Saudi installations, without identifying the targets or time of the attacks.
The UAE has identified the four vessels sabotaged on Sunday as a very large crude carrier (VLCC) tanker Amjad and crude tanker Al Marzoqah, both owned by the Saudi shipping firm Bahri. The other two were the UAE-flagged fuel bunker barge A. Michel and the Norwegian-registered oil products tanker MT Andrew Victory.
An unnamed US official said Tuesday that an initial assessment suggested that Iran was behind this attack, but there was no evidence of this as yet.
DEBKAfile adds: The second attack on essential Gulf oil infrastructure on the heels of the first took place in the absence of an international response to the sabotage of four oil tankers outside Fujairah port on Sunday. US officials even tried to play the event down. While the first attack, which was more of a warning than seriously damaging, was carried out by Iran’s elite Al Qods special forces, the second was claimed by Yemeni Houthis. Last December, these Yemeni insurgents used an explosive drone supplied by Iran to bomb a government parade and kill a large number of pro-Saudi officers and men. Then, military experts warned that this new Iranian device, after proving its worth as a precise weapon in Yemen, was ready for use against other Iranian targets, including US forces in the region and Israel.
Both targets, the new Fujairah pipeline project and the Saudi East-West pipeline, were designed to bypass the Strait of Hormuz which is controlled by Iran. Tehran’s two attacks this week were both in response to US sanctions on its oil experts and a demonstration of its many resources for causing damage to the Gulf’s entire energy industry and disrupting all its export routes to international markets.

Iran’s supreme leader: ‘There will not be a war with the US’
The Times of Israel is liveblogging Tuesday’s events as they unfold.
Iran’s supreme leader: ‘There will not be a war with the US’
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei says “There will not be a war with the US.”
In a television speech, he also stresses, however, that Tehran will not negotiate with Washington over the nuclear deal which the latter quit last year.
Islamic Jihad official: Mass protests in Gaza Wednesday for Nakba Day
A top Islamic Jihad official in the Gaza Strip says there will be mass protests along the Israeli border Wednesday to mark Nakba Day, Ynet reports.
Palestinians will mark the 71th anniversary of the Nakba, or “catastrophe,” of Israel’s creation in 1948.
Khaled al-Batsh calls on Palestinians to participate in order to reiterate their right of return to lands that now make up Israel.
He also expresses hope that no one will be killed in the demonstrations.
US official in Beirut to discuss border dispute with Israel
Lebanon’s Prime Minister Saad Hariri is receiving a US official as Washington mediates a maritime border dispute with Israel.
Acting Assistant Secretary of State David Satterfield has begun a two-day visit to meet officials in Lebanon, which is in an economic crisis. He did not speak to journalists after his meeting with Hariri.
Satterfield’s visit comes a week after President Michel Aoun presented the US ambassador to Lebanon with a “unified stance” regarding the demarcation of the maritime border between Lebanon and Israel.
Trump denies planning to send 120,000 troops to counter Iran
US President Donald Trump rejects a report that he is considering sending 120,000 troops to counter Iran, but doesn’t rule out deploying “a hell of a lot more” soldiers in the future.
“I think it’s fake news,” Trump says of a New York Times report that the White House is considering a plan to send 120,000 troops to the region as part of a tightening pressure campaign against the Iranian government.
“Now, would I do that? Absolutely. But we have not planned for that,” Trump tells reporters. “Hopefully we’re not going to have to plan for that. If we did that, we’d send a hell of a lot more troops than that.”
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, meanwhile, says: “We fundamentally do not see a war with Iran,” during a joint news conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Sochi.

Iran May Attack Israel if US Standoff Escalates: Israeli Minister
An Israeli cabinet minister warned on Sunday of possible direct or proxy Iranian attacks on Israel should the stand-off between Tehran and Washington escalate.
The United States has increased economic and military pressure on Iran, with President Donald Trump on Thursday urging its leaders to talk to him about giving up their nuclear program and saying he could not rule out an armed confrontation.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, which supports Trump’s hard tack against its arch-foe, has largely been reticent about the spiraling tensions.
Parting with the silence, Israeli Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz said that, in the Gulf, “things are heating up.”
“If there’s some sort of conflagration between Iran and the United States, between Iran and its neighbors, I’m not ruling out that they will activate Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad from Gaza, or even that they will try to fire missiles from Iran at the State of Israel,” Steinitz, a member of Netanyahu’s security cabinet, told Israel’s YNet TV.
Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad are Iranian-sponsored terrorist groups on Israel’s borders, the former active in Syria as well as Lebanon and the latter in Gaza and the disputed territories.
The Israeli military declined to comment when asked if it was making any preparations for possible threats linked to the Iran-US standoff.
Israel has traded blows with Iranian forces in Syria, as well as with Hezbollah in Lebanon and Palestinian terrorists. But it has not fought an open war with Iran, a country on the other side of the Middle East.

‘World’s Most Important Oil Chokepoint’ Is Ground Zero for the Escalating U.S.-Iran Feud
When tensions rise in the Strait of Hormuz, history says trouble is ahead.
The strait—which forms a tiny passage from the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman—is the “world’s most important oil chokepoint,” according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
The narrow waterway forms a crucial link between the vast oil reserves of the Gulf states and the energy-hungry markets of Asia, and there are almost no alternate throughways. It also has longstanding geopolitical significance, a familiar saber-rattling ground for Iran, the U.S., and the Gulf states at large.
On Monday, those tensions rose rapidly, as Saudi Arabia said several of its oil tankers that had passed through the strait had been sabotaged. It’s still not clear the extent of the damage, and no actor has taken responsibility.
But the accusations immediately sparked fears of an escalation between the U.S., whose Fifth Fleet in Bahrain protects commercial ships in the strait, and Iran, which borders it. Relations between the two countries are already strained due to President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw waivers that had blunted the impact of renewed sanctions on Iran. With little information about the oil tanker attacks, the incident stoked fears of a worst-case scenario: a confrontation between the U.S. and Iran.
As recently as this April, Iranian officials threatened to close the strait as retaliation for the renewal of U.S. sanctions, an act that a congressional research paper warned last year would likely lead to outright military conflict between the Iran and the U.S.
The strait doesn’t necessarily threaten energy security in the U.S. Since the shale boom, the U.S. is now an exporter of oil and gas, not an importer, meaning the route is probably less important for global oil supply than it was in previous decades, says Charles Gurdon, managing director of Menas Associates in London. Even still, fears of an escalation were already stoking oil prices on Monday morning.
“This obviously ratchets up the tensions considerably,” says Gurdon. “There’s not only an economic significance, but a political and a military one.”
The world of oil shipping is full of “chokepoints,” from the Panama Canal to the Strait of Malacca near Singapore, but the Strait of Hormuz is arguably the most significant.
The strait is just 21 miles wide, touching Iran on one side, Oman on the other, and serving as the main water transit route to the Persian Gulf states of the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Iraq. Its two shipping lanes are just two miles wide each, with another two-mile buffer zone between them. Despite its narrowness, the route is deep enough for the world’s largest oil tankers.
Between 17 million and 18 million barrels per day of crude oil pass through the strait, including 90% of Saudi Arabia’s output, according to Rystad Energy—equivalent to about 40% of the crude traded globally. Meanwhile, the passage is also a significant route for liquid natural gas (LNG) from Qatar, one of the world’s largest exporters.
For context: take the total daily oil exports of the U.S.; in April, that was about 3 million barrels per day. Multiple that by six, put it on oil tankers, and have the ships sail through a waterway equal to the distance between New York City’s Washington Square Park and the top of Central Park. And, that’s just oil—never mind gas, food, and other necessities that follow the same path.
What makes the Strait of Hormuz all the more important is the region’s lack of alternatives. Pipelines owned by the UAE and Saudi Arabia can’t carry as much oil as tankers, and while Saudi Arabia and Iran have alternate seaports, their neighbors don’t.

Risk of Gaza war remains imminent, UN envoy Mladenov warns
A Hamas-Israel war will likely break out if there is another renewed escalation of violence in the coming weeks, United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Nickolay Mladenov warned during a visit to the Gaza Strip on Monday.
“I hope that after a month of weekly tensions, everyone has learned that the risk of war remains imminent,” Mladenov said. “We have perhaps the last chance to consolidate the understandings that have been reached [between Israel and Hamas] and to make sure that the situation avoids another escalation. The next escalation is going to be probably the last one,” he said.
Mladenov spoke as a fragile calm between Israel and Hamas has held, since a renewed Egyptian-mediated informal truce was reached on May 5.
It ended two days of violence in which Palestinians in Gaza launched 700 rockets against southern Israel, killing four civilians. Thirty Palestinians were killed in Israeli counterattacks.
“I know that last weekend we got the closest we have ever been to another full war. Everyone is extremely nervous; everyone in the situation is very fragile,” Mladenov said.
Among the critical elements the led to the restoration of calm, was the assurance of a cash transfer of $30 million from Qatar to impoverished Gaza families. That money has now been transferred to Gaza and families began receiving those cash-in-hand payments on Monday, according to media reports.
Qatar has also pledged $480m. to the Palestinians, $300m. for the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank and $180m. for UN projects in Gaza.
Mladenov on Monday met with Qatari Ambassador Mohamed Al Emadi in Gaza. He also marked the official handover of a Japanese-funded solar plant in Khan Yunis, from the World Health Organization to the Palestinian Government in Gaza.
Mladenov had sharp words for those who might try to break the calm and push the situation back to the brink of war
“I want to send a clear message to those in the past year who have tried to disrupt the ceasefire discussions. I want to tell them very clearly that if this calm is now disrupted, they will bear the responsibility for what happens after,” Mladenov said.
“If we are to save Gaza from another war; if we are to save the people both in Israel and here in Gaza from the destruction of another conflict, we must do everything we can right now to consolidate the peace and the quiet and the understandings,” Mladenov said.
“We need the cooperation of everyone – of the people of Gaza, the Palestinians here, the Palestinian government, the Israelis and the Egyptians – to make sure that the situation in Gaza normalizes as quickly as possible,” he said.

Tech Tyranny: Apple Bans Natural News for Questioning Global Warming Junk Science
Natural News bills itself as a science-based natural health advocacy organization led by activist-turned-scientist Mike Adams, the Health Ranger. “The key mission of Natural News is to empower consumers with factual information about the synthetic chemicals, heavy metals, hormone disruptors and other chemicals found in foods, medicines, personal care products, children’s toys and other items.”
That being said, Natural News publishes a myriad of articles challenging the status quo and questioning the powers that be.
On Sunday Natural News was banned from Apple News after publishing a report challenging climate change in late April.
Apple wrote Natural News to inform them that their website was being banned based on its claims that are “rejected by the scientific community.” Natural News was quoting data that was confirmed by NASA.
This is the new reality we live in. If you challenge global warming, radical Islam, support Donald Trump, question the deep state and the liberal media then you will be censored, shadow banned or eliminated entirely from thee public square.
As part of the accelerating techno-dictatorship sweeping across the online world, Apple News has banned Natural News for expressing views which Apple claims are “rejected by the scientific community.”
This ban was received shortly after Natural News published a rebuttal to the junk science climate change narrative which falsely claims that carbon dioxide is a poison that will destroy the planet. (Only someone who is scientifically illiterate or completely brainwashed could believe such a falsehood.)
Natural News dares to state the simple scientific fact — now confirmed by NASA — that carbon dioxide boosts the growth of green plants all across the Earth. This is not allowed by the techno-fascists of the Left who run Apple and insist that CO2 is somehow a poison that’s responsible for “climate change.”…
…Even though NASA has also admitted that CO2 is greening the Earth, Apple says that Natural News stories are diverging from the “scientific community,” somehow justifying Apple’s censorship of all news from Natural News, including the hundreds of articles each month that cite scientific journals.

George Orwell’s 1984 Is 70 Years Old – Our World Looks An Awful Lot Like The Book
This month, George Orwell’s legendary novel Nineteen Eighty-Four turns 70 years old, and the warnings contained within the story are now more relevant than ever. Orwell’s predictions were so spot on that it almost seems like it was used as some type of accidental instruction manual for would-be tyrants.
In the world of Nineteen Eighty-Four, there is an all-encompassing surveillance state that keeps a watchful eye on everyone, in search of possible rebels and points of resistance. Censorship is the norm in this world, and is so extreme that individuals can become “unpersons” who are essentially deleted from society because their ideas were considered dangerous by the establishment. This is an idea that is very familiar to activists and independent journalists who are being removed from the public conversation for speaking out about government and corporate corruption on social media.
Orwell is famous for coining the term “double-speak,” which is a way to describe the euphemistic language that government uses to whitewash their most dirty deeds. For example, in Orwell’s story, the ministry of propaganda was called the Ministry of Truth, just as today the government agency that was once known as “The Department of War,” is now called the “Department of Defense.”
There was also never-ending war in Orwell’s story, the conditions of which would change on a regular basis, keeping the general population confused about conflicts so they give up on trying to understand what is actually going on. Some of these predictions were merely recognition of patterns in human history, since the idea of “unpersons” and war propaganda is nothing new. However, Orwell had an incredible understanding of how technology was going to progress over the 20th century, and he was able to envision how technology would be used by those in power to control the masses.
The technological predictions made in the book were truly uncanny, as they give a fairly accurate description of our modern world. Orwell described “telescreens,” which acted as both an entertainment device and a two-way communication device. This type of technology was predicted by many futurists at the time, but Orwell’s prediction was unique because he suggested that these devices would be used by the government to spy on people, through microphones and cameras built into the devices.
Unfortunately, just like in Orwell’s book, people in the modern world are so distracted by entertainment and the divided by politics that they have no idea they are living in a tyrannical police state. This police state was also a strong deterrent in the world of Nineteen Eighty-Four, because although many of the citizens in the book had a positive opinion of “big brother,” it was still something that they feared, and it was a force that kept them in control. Of course, this is not much different from the attitude that the average American or European has when confronted with police brutality and government corruption.
Many of the ideas about power and authority that were expressed in Orwell’s classic are timeless and as old as recorded history; but his analysis of how technology would amplify the destructive nature of power was incredibly unique, especially for his time.

Wall Street responded to our escalating trade war with China by throwing a bit of a temper tantrum.  On Monday the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 617 points, and that was the worst day for the Dow since January 3rd.  But things were even worse for the Nasdaq.  It had its worst day since December 4th, and overall the Nasdaq is now down 6.3 percent in just the last six trading sessions.  Of course it isn’t just in the United States that stocks are declining.  Since last Monday, a total of approximately $3.5 trillion in market cap has been wiped out on global stock markets.  And since it doesn’t look like we are going to get any sort of a trade deal any time soon, this could potentially be just the beginning of our problems. There is the resurrection known as the first resurrection and then there is the resurrection at the end, at the end of the millennial kingdom, known as the second resurrection. The first resurrection started when Jesus resurrected from the dead. The Bible says He is the first-fruits of the those who have fallen asleep. He’s the first-fruits. No one ever in the history died, resurrected and never died again. Lazarus died, resurrected but died again. He’s not alive, so only Jesus died, resurrected and He’s still alive. Then the Bible says the next phase of the same first resurrection is when us will be taken to be with the Lord.
The Bible says the dead in Christ will rise first and then we that are alive and remain will be caught up with them together to meet the Lord in the clouds. There is the resurrection of the Rapture, and then after the tribulation the saints of the tribulation will be also resurrected. The resurrection of Christ and the Church is the first resurrection and then at the end of the millennial kingdom, God says there will be a resurrection of all mankind, the sea will give its dead, the earth will give its dead and God will judge them all.
Now which resurrection do you want to have part of? The first or the second? You see, Revelation 20 says blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection, over such the second death has no power.
While many find the First Resurrection to be somewhat confusing the issue is easily understood if we consider two things. The first being that the First Resurrection is a category of people not just an event. It is not dissimilar to being “in Christ.”
Revelation 20:6
“…Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years…”
While there are many who would be considered “blessed” in this world, the word means fortunate or well off, there is only way to be become holy and that is to be “in Christ.” It is only those “in Christ” whose old things have passed away, it is only for those in Christ who “all things” have become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Secondly, we need to remember that as a member of the “First Resurrection” there is a new and glorified body that awaits us!
1 Corinthians 15:20
“…But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep…”
The resurrection of Christ from the dead and His bodily ascension from this life into the eternal realm of Heaven paved the way for those of the First Resurrection to follow Him into Heaven in the same way.

1 Corinthians 15:51-57

“…Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ…”
These corruptible bodies are incapable of eternal existence as they have been ravaged by the consequences of sin and the wages of sin is death. Yet being “in Christ” and by that having become part of the First Resurrection the sting of sin’s consequences is overcome by the victory over death by our Lord Jesus Christ.
Colossians 2:11-14
“…In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross…”
The victory that was obtained by Christ was a victory over the first and second death. It was a victory over the first death, the death of our flesh, because His resurrection proved beyond question that there is life after death. His resurrection and subsequent ascension also proved to those “in Christ” that after death there is a bodily ascension into Heaven that awaits us. The dead in Christ will arise first in bodies both immortal and incorruptible, then we who are alive and remain will instantly be transformed into incorruptible immortals and be transported to meet the dead in Christ in the air and forever be with the Lord.
There is also a bodily resurrection of those who are not in Christ and this too is a category of people and not just an event. All who have died without Christ are part of the group known as the second resurrection. Remember, Old Testament saints like Abraham were justified in the same way we are, by believing God. His belief included that of recognizing God would provide for Himself a sacrifice for sins through His only Son, as pictured by Isaac being figuratively offered as a sacrifice. (Genesis 22:8 & Hebrews 11:17-19)
Revelation 20:11-15
“…Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire…”
The most important word in these verses is “anyone.” Anyone who is not “in Christ” which is what writes your name in the Lamb’s book of Life and makes you a member of the First Resurrection, will be judged by their works. Those of the First Resurrection will have their works judged (1 Corinthians 3:12-15) but they will not be judged by their works as it pertains to accessing Heaven.
This reminds us that no amount of religious activity, no number of good works, no amount of financial giving, can gain anyone access to Heaven and escape from the fires of hell. Hell, the lake of fire, is avoidable only by having your name written in the Book of Life. Those in the Book of Life are those of the First Resurrection and the second death has no power over them.
With all that is going on in our world, particularly in the Middle East, now is not the time to be unsure of which group you are in. The First Resurrection or the Second Resurrection. Those of the First Resurrection the second death has no power over, those of the Second Resurrection, they have no power over the second death.
Matthew 24:44
‘…Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect…”
We are the generation that will not pass away until all the things Jesus spoke of in the Olivet Discourse take place. His admonition is that we be ready to meet Him in the air. Those that are ready are those who are already “in Christ” and are of the First Resurrection.
Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus!
