But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! (Galatians 1:8)
(John 8:32) And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free

QUESTION: I have a question. I have prayed many times and asked the Lord to save me. However at times I feel like I must live right to be saved which I know is wrong but I don’t know how to stop. Plus I want to do things that I know is sin because it is fun even though I know it is wrong. Do you have any suggestions? Am I even saved?
ANSWER: Every believer experiences conflict of this sort. The feelings about living right come from the Holy Spirit prompting you to live in a way that pleases the Lord as a way of expressing your gratitude for the free gift of salvation. Paul called it living up to what we have already attained (Phil. 3:16).
The feelings about sin come from the fact that even though you are saved, the desire to sin hasn’t left you. This conflict will last through out your life. Paul also spoke of this (Romans 7:18-20.)
The important thing to remember is that salvation is by faith. In other words, it depends on your belief in what Jesus did for you, (John 3:16) not on what you can do for yourself.
Jesus said, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Matt. 7:7-8) This means everyone who sincerely asks for salvation receives it. Romans 10:9, Romans 10:13, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:4-7 all confirm that if you’ve sincerely asked the Lord to save you, then He has done so.

If one has professed of being born again but in time has gone back to the ways of the world (one’s sinful deeds), continues on in such behavior even when one knows that it is wrong, never asks forgiveness and then passes away before repenting. Where would one go? Will the person be accepted in the Kingdom of GOD, but have a minor role in GOD’s Kingdom? Or will the person be identified as one who never really accepted CHRIST as ones’ Personal SAVIOR and thus be delegated one’s portion with the wicked? I hope I made sense in my question and hope by GOD’s favor you will be able to enlighten me.
ANSWER: I’ve answered questions like this many times but the answer bears repeating every now and then. Ephesians 1:13-14 is the clearest of many verses that address your question. It goes like this.
And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession–to the praise of his glory.
Paul expanded on this promise in 2 cor. 1:21-22 to show how God Himself has taken responsibility for keeping us saved.
Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
Together these verses show that at the first moment of belief, we were saved. Before we had done anything good to deserve it or anything bad to lose it, the Holy Spirit was sealed within us as a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance. Being sincere in our belief, we have met the single requirement for salvation (John 6:28-29) and God has marked us as His own, off limits to anyone else.
Therefore, sinning and failing to confess won’t cost us our salvation, because it has been guaranteed. But it will cause us to live a defeated spiritual life here on Earth. And while we’ll still be a child of God’s we won’t have enjoyed any kind of relationship with Him. We’ll miss out on tons of blessings here on Earth and some crowns when we get to heaven. But even if we receive no rewards at all, we won’t be relegated to some kind of 2nd or 3rd class salvation. We all get the same, because our salvation isn’t based on our behavior, it’s based on our belief (1 Cor 3:10-15).
And while it’s true that behavior such as you described may be a sign that a person was never saved in the first place, that isn’t ours to judge because we can’t know the motives of another person’s heart. That’s between the person and the Lord (1 Cor. 4:5).

Israel believes that the attack will be launched directly by the IRGC – and not by proxies as done before – under the command of Quds Force Commander Qassem Soleimani in the form of precision-guided missiles or armed drones from a base in Syria. “Israel will react strongly to any Iranian action from inside Syria,” a senior IDF source told Sky News in Arabic, adding that Iran plans to attack Israel from Syria, gaining control of the Arab state though its air force.

“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.” Zechariah 12:2 (KJV)
EDITOR’S NOTE: Yes, Israel carried out a direct attack on an Iranian military installation in Syria last weekend, where Iran is setting up an air force compound from which to launch attacks against Israel. Israeli forces fried the airbase to a crisp. Now the IDF believes that Iran, for the first time, is planning a non-proxy retaliatory response to that strike, and they are getting ready for that right now. We have been telling you for months now that open war with Israel and Iran is unavoidable, and that is exactly what’s playing out right now. The only question is how many other countries are going to side with Iran – Russia, China, Syria, Lebanon – once the action finally does start? That swooshing sound you’re hearing right now is Bible prophecy leaping off it’s pages and into the headlines. Make sure you’ve circled May 14th on your calendar…

“Israel will react strongly to any Iranian action from inside Syria,” a senior IDF source told Sky News in Arabic, adding that Iran plans to attack Israel from Syria, gaining control of the Arab state though its air force.
This is what remains of the Iranian-run T4 airbase in Syria after Israel neutralized it.
Aerial photos of Iranian bases in Syria were released Tuesday morning showing that Tehran has increased the scope of its military relationship with the Assad regime under the auspices of the IRGC’s air force commander Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh.
The source stated that both civilian and cargo airlines Simorgh and Pouya Air are used by the IRGC as a front for military transport flights bringing in soldiers and weaponry to bolster Iran’s military presence.
According to the pictures, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps has established several bases in Syria including one military base in the Deir ez-Zor province in eastern Syria seen with Ilyushin planes transporting weapons from Iran to Syria.
The aerial intelligence photos showed five other airbases with IRGC presence: T4, Aleppo, Deir ez-Zor, Damascus International Airport and an additional airfield south of the capital. The aerial intelligence photos supposedly illustrate how Tehran remains capable of flying in surface-to-surface missiles as well as unmanned aerial vehicles to the war-torn country under the guise of humanitarian aid.
The release of the photos comes ahead of Israel’s 70th Independence Day when Iran will also be marking it’s National Army Day. Tensions have risen dramatically between the two arch-enemies following the infiltration of a Iranian drone into northern Israel which the IDF announced on Friday was armed and on a sabotage attack mission against the Jewish State.
Last week, an alleged Israeli airstrike on Syria’s T-4 Airbase in Homs province killed seven IRGC soldiers, including Col. Mehdi Dehghan who led the drone unit operating out of the base.
A senior IDF official confirmed to The New York Times on Monday that Israel was behind the attack, stating that the February incident “opened a new period” between the Jewish state and the Islamic Republic.
“This is the first time we saw Iran do something against Israel — not by proxy,” he said, adding that the strike on the Iranians at T-4 “was the first time we attacked live Iranian targets — both facilities and people.”
Following the strike, Ali Akbar Velayati, the top aid to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, warned that Israel “should be waiting for a powerful response” to the strike on the airfield, saying “it will not remain unanswered.”
Khamenei’s representative to the IRGC Ali Shirazi also cautioned that “if Israel wants to continue its treacherous existence … it should avoid stupid measures. If they give excuses to Iran, Tel Aviv and Haifa will be destroyed.” source

FURIOUS: Putin Sends Warships Laden With Tanks And Military Vehicles Sailing To Syria As World Awaits Russia’s Response To Airstrikes

An Alligator-landing ship was pictured cruising down The Bosphorus on Sunday as the world awaits Vladimir Putin’s response to this week’s co-ordinated military action against Syria. The vessel was spotted on its way to the Russian naval base at Tartus on the north Syrian coast. On its fourth deployment of Russian military equipment to the war-torn country the ship was seen laden with tanks, trucks, ambulances and an IED radar.
Two Russian warships laden with military vehicles have been spotted en route to Syria after Friday’s US-led airstrikes obliterated three suspected chemical weapons sites.
EDITOR’S NOTE: For the past 48 hours, the geopolitical world has been wondering what sort of response Putin was going to have to Friday night’s missile attack on Syrian chemical weapons production by Allied forces. Warship and enormous cargo ships filled with Russian military equipment are at this moment steaming towards Syria. Putin has not said exactly what he plans on doing, other than promises to “respond with consequences” in a meaningful way. But it looks like he’s getting ready to respond.
A yellow RoRo Alexandr Tkachenko was also pictured heading for Tartus carrying high-speed patrol boats, a temporary bridge structure and several trucks. The images were posted on social media by Bosphorus-based naval observer Yörük Işık.
They come in wake of Friday’s US-led campaign against Bashar al-Assad’s regime and a chemical weapons attack that brutally murdered 75 civilians.
The blue Project 117 LST Orsk 148 ship was carrying Soviet BTR-80 tanks, Ramaz trucks and a Pelena-1 bomb radar, used to detect IEDs. A second yellow cargo vessel was equipped with a BMK-T boat used for building temporary bridges and an array of other military hardware.
The Russian warships approaching Syria come after the United States outlined new economic sanctions in response to Moscow’s continued support of Assad’s regime in Syria.
Nikki Haley, US Ambassador to the United Nations, said measures to be imposed on Monday will send a message to Russia after it blocked six UN attempts to investigate its use of chemical weapons.
In Washington President Donald Trump stood by his comments that the strikes he commanded were a ‘mission accomplished’ after he was slated for repeating George W Bush’s controversial use of the phrase during the Iraq war.
Meanwhile French President Emmanuel Macron today insisted the allied forces had not ‘declared war’ on Syria.
He told a French TV station: ‘We have not declared war on the regime of Bashar al-Assad.’ During the two-hour interview he also claimed he had ‘convinced’ Trump to maintain a military presence in Syria after the US leader threatened to pull out of the country entirely.
It emerged that Trump called Mr Macron twice before he shared his intention to strike Syria in a Twitter post. But he failed to call UK Prime Minister Theresa May in the early stages of the operation, giving the French leader the opportunity to claim France is America’s leading ally in Europe.
Vladimir Putin condemned Friday’s strikes as an ‘act of aggression’ that will worsen the humanitarian catastrophe in Syria and have a ‘destructive influence on the entire system of international relations.
But Trump has vowed to carry out more if Bashar al-Assad’s regime dares to use chemical weapons again.
UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson today defended Britain’s decision to stand up to ‘barbarism’ amid criticism of Mrs May for agreeing to the strike without a vote in the House of Commons. Mr Johnson said failure to respond to Assad’s use of illegal chemical weapons against his own people would have undermined ‘civilised values’.
He said ‘so far, thank heavens, the Assad regime has not been so foolish to launch another chemical weapons attack,’ adding that Britain and its allies ‘would study what the options were’ in the event of another attack.
But amid fears of revenge attacks by Russia and criticism of Theresa May for acting without a Commons vote, Mr Johnson stressed there was no intention of getting more deeply involved in the Syrian civil war.
Concerns have been raised that a cyber backlash could see vital services including water supplies, gas networks, banks, hospitals and air traffic control affected. source

By Louis Rene Beres –
For the most part, Israel has always been able to identify and manage its own particular involvements with Syria, regarding both the incessantly criminal regime of Bashar al-Assad and the sub-national groups in-league with the dictator or opposed to him. Nonetheless, the increasingly belligerent rhetoric of the American president toward both Assad and his principal mentor in Moscow now suggest some potentially imminent and far-reaching conflict transformations in the entire region. In turn, such changes could quickly produce very grave hazards to Israel, risks that lie ominously beyond its own national scope of operational competence or political influence. Ultimately, of course, the most serious of any such transformations would concern a nuclear war between the superpowers.
In those notably unprecedented circumstances, virtually all traditional geopolitical models that were once au courant in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem would summarily become moot.
For the United States, the corresponding “trick” will be to meet both military and legal objectives without simultaneously generating a nuclear war. Significantly, at least on the military side, there are no available experts on the subject of nuclear war – not in Washington, not in Moscow, not in Jerusalem. This is the case, moreover, whether we are presently concerned with deliberate or inadvertent nuclear war.
Arguably, in this particular geo-strategic context, the latter would appear more portentous than the former, at least from the standpoint of plausibility or presumptive likelihood.
For US President Donald Trump, it will be necessary above all to avoid any direct military confrontations with Russian forces or identifiable weapon system assets. In this connection, it is entirely possible that Russian President Vladimir Putin would deploy Russian soldiers to some of the areas most likely to be targeted by the United States. These Russian deployments could be undertaken for purely tactical reasons, or instead for less conspicuous purposes of enhancing credible deterrence.
In essence, the latter purposes would be to erect a suitable “trip wire.” Accordingly, the purpose of the deployed Russian troops would not be to actually fight against the Americans, but rather to “trip” certain expectedly desirable escalations with the United States. Naturally, drawing an exact line between desirable and undesirable escalations here would prove very difficult in practice, and could have a broad variety of possible conflict outcomes.
To be sure, these murky and historically unique circumstances could slowly or suddenly escalate out of control, triggering either an inadvertent or very deliberate nuclear war. In either case, most other states in the Middle East could be more-or-less directly impacted, Israel, of course, in particular. Significantly, because true probabilities can only be calculated according to the discernible frequency of pertinent past events, there would be no reliable way to figure out how it would end.
In the obviously worst-case scenario, the ending would involve multiple firings of nuclear missiles and/or bombs – issuing from both superpower combatants.
What about the Russian soldiers? Their only predictable function in such an inherently ambiguous scenario would be to die. Plainly, they could serve no other ordinary military function.
Furthermore, even if Vladimir Putin would not purposefully introduce a trip wire force into the conflict, his already deployed S-400 advanced surface-to-air missile systems could readily elicit identically perilous consequences. In essence, because the Americans would necessarily strike these missile targets first, Russian military personnel could plausibly be among the first casualties of any impending superpower military engagement in Syria.
Then what? For Israel, the answers would depend, in large measure, upon the actual physical and human costs being inflicted upon the Jewish State, whether intentional or as “collateral” harms.
Quo Vadis? Where might President Trump and the United States go now? It’s a question for Israelis, as well as for Americans.
Insofar as Mr. Trump has already announced an allegedly irrevocable decision to employ armed force against Syria, the president’s operational choices are probably foreseeable in Moscow. In response, Mr. Putin could take various prompt military steps to counter the growing American preparations or to best avoid any forms of superpower military engagement altogether.
For Israel, that decision taken in Moscow could produce manifestly different but still decisively consequential outcomes.
All things considered, US President Donald Trump’s available policy options could lead incrementally and/or inexorably to certain direct US-Russian military encounters. Among other things, Mr. Trump’s most advanced strategic thinkers (not ordinary tactical planners) would then need to work very quickly and capably through the hideously complex dialectics of virtually all possible nuclear attack scenarios.
In the final analysis, what will be needed in Washington will be exceptional intellectual skills, not just the far more usual and orthodox operational talents. For the United States, the overriding task must not be to merely maximize target damage in Syria, but also to prevent any grievously destructive nuclear war in the area. Depending upon the precise extent to which US President Donald Trump can keep this sensitive equation correctly in mind, the resultant outcomes will be more or less welcome in Israel.
For the moment, less seems far more plausible.

Bill Wilson –
President Donald Trump did what he said he would do: Bomb Syria for its participation in gassing its own civilians. In doing so, the president also made it very clear what he thought of Russian President Vladimir Putin, tweeting: “President Putin, Russia and Iran are responsible for backing animal Assad. Big price to pay.” In announcing the missile response, Trump said, “Russia must decide if it will continue down this dark path or if it will join with the civilized nations as a force for stability and peace.” Interesting that many of the prophetic players on the world stage are gathered in Syria where the prophet Isaiah wrote, “Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.”
Turkey and Iran are there in Syria. Turkey has been, at least publicly, supporting the removal of dictator-president Bashar Assad. Iran is supporting Assad because Syria is essentially a vassal state of Iran. They have a mutual defense pact. Russia, Turkey and Iran recently met to develop a peace plan, not only for Syria, but for all of the Middle East. Russia supports Assad and Iran in this conflict. But Turkey, Russia and Iran appear to be working together more than just in the public relations/propaganda world. The entire conflict arose out of the immediate past US “president’s” support for Arab Spring uprisings where the US supported various terrorist groups connected with al Qaeda to overthrow Assad.
There has been a lot of talk that this is the time that perhaps Isaiah’s prophecy will be fulfilled. Damascus, after all, is hardly a city nowadays. It is maintaining a heartbeat after years of civil war and fighting that includes various al Qaeda terrorist groups, Hezbollah from Iran, Russian interests, American interests, Turkey, the Islamic State, and, of course the Assad government. The ingredients are there for the total destruction of Damascus. Damascus may be devastated by this massive gathering of many forces, but it is not the total destruction prophesied by Isaiah. As with most prophecy, it often appears to be fulfilled, but in types and shadows, layers, and signs before it is ultimately fulfilled.
The context of Isaiah 17 is judgment on nations that come against Israel, beginning with Assyria in Chapter 9 and continuing with Palestina, Moab, Ethiopia, Egypt, Shebna, and Tyre through Chapter 24. The phrase “In/At that day” is mentioned no less than four times in this short chapter of 14 verses. This phrase is an indicator for the Day of the Lord, meaning when the Lord returns to judge the nations that came against Israel. Verse 7 says, “At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel.” Verse 11 speaks that the harvest shall be a day of grief and of desperate sorrow. Context is key. It’s dangerous to take just one verse and develop a scenario or doctrine around it. In Syria, we are seeing prophetic movement, but we will know when God fulfills the prophecy. It will be clear.

With all the events taking place in Syria right now, many people are asking, “What does the Bible have to say about Syria and the end times”?
Is this the beginning of World War III and Armageddon?” Those are legitimate questions, but let me assure you, this is not the end. How can I be so sure?
Because the Bible says Armageddon takes place at the end of the seven year Tribulation (Revelation 16:16), and the Tribulation has yet to begin.
That said, I believe recent events in Syria have great significance when it comes to the study of bible prophecy.
This doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed to see the immediate fulfillment of any specific bible prophecy. However, it does mean you should pay close attention.
Why? Because, at the very least, these events are setting the table for the fulfillment of multiple bible prophecies.
Just look around you. The signs of the Second Coming are everywhere. The restoration of Israel (Isaiah 11:12)… The Jews back in Jerusalem (Luke 21:24-28)… The Gospel preached to the world (Matthew 24:14)… An increase in travel and knowledge (Daniel 12:4)… The rise of the European Union (Daniel 2:43)… And many more.
Jesus says once you see all these signs come together, His return is near (Luke 21:28). This means the Tribulation is close, and you should expect to see the fulfillment of many end times prophecies in the near future.
Below are two prophetic events especially relevant to the ongoing events in Syria. The first could take place at any moment.
I believe a careful study of the Bible reveals the second event will take place sometime after the war foretold in Psalm 83.
Either way, both events could be very close to fulfillment. While both could still be several years away, breaking events could lead to their fulfillment in this very hour.
The Destruction of Damascus (Isaiah 17)
Chapter 17 in the Book of Isaiah paints a sobering picture. In it, the city of Damascus is a pile of rubble. The Bible says it will disappear from the face of the earth and become a heap of ruins (Isaiah 17:1).
At the same time, large parts of northern Israel will also lie in ruin (Isaiah 17:3). Now, before you say this prophecy was fulfilled during Old Testament times, keep this in mind… This passage says Damascus will cease to be a city (Isaiah 17:1).
It will be utterly and completely destroyed. Yet, Damascus is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities on record. Its history goes back more than 5,000 years. At 2,600 years old, the Book of Isaiah itself is new compared to Damascus! This prophecy is yet to be fulfilled.
So how do current events in Syria relate to Isaiah 17?
Following the U.S. strike on the Syrian Syrian chemical weapons facilities, a statement was issued by the Russian ambassador to the US saying: ‘Again, we are being threatened. We warned that such actions will not be left without consequences.”
While this statement was clearly in response to a U.S. attack, Russia, Iran & Syria have made it clear they will respond to any nation they view as an aggressor.
This includes Israel and makes a much more likely target than Syria or Russia retaliating direclty against the US. Hezbollah is part of the Iran/Syria/Russian alliance and would be more than glad to launch targeted attacks into Israel with backing from these nations.
While it hasn’t been a major news story, Israel has also been bombing Syria. They’ve attacked Hezbollah targets in Syria several times over the last year and last week bombed an airbase that resulted in several Iranian Republican Guard deaths, including a Colonel.
Hassan Nasrallah, The leader of Lebanon’s Hezbollah terror group said the Israeli airstrike on an air base in central Syria that killed seven Iranians was a “historic mistake” that has brought Israel into direct conflict with Tehran. “This is unprecedented in seven years of war in Syria that Israel directly targets Iran’s Revolutionary Guard,” Nasrallah said.
Israel issued it’s own threats in response, with senior Israeli security officials saying that if Iran strikes at Israel from Syrian territory, “Assad’s regime and Assad himself will disappear from the map.” They continued, “Our recommendation to Iran is that it does not try to act because Israel is determined to continue on this issue to the very end.”
If Syria and its allies view their situation as desperate, they may decide to use these bombing raids as an excuse to launch a chemical attack on Israel.
This is because drawing Israel into the war could rally the Muslim world to Syria’s side. Saddam Hussein tried this same tactic during the first Gulf War. In 1991, he fired Scud missiles at Israel in an effort to draw them into the war and break up the coalition aligned against him.
If Syria, Hezbollah, or any of their allies managed to strike Israel with a weapon of mass destruction, the response would be swift. Israel would most likely respond in kind. If their intelligence revealed the Assad regime was behind such an attack, nuclear retaliation on Damascus would not be out of the question.
While this is all speculation, and not necessary how Isaiah 17 will be fulfilled, it shows how realistic a near-term fulfillment of this prophecy could be. With current instability in the region, and so many warring factions in Syria, events could spiral out of control very quickly.
At this point in time, it’s not difficult to imagine a scenario in which Damascus is completely destroyed.
The Gog of Magog War (Ezekiel 38-39)
Current events in Syria are also setting the stage for the Gog of Magog War. More than 2,600 years ago, the prophet Ezekiel warned of a future time when a vast coalition of nations will attack Israel.
Ezekiel identifies these nations as “Magog, Rosh, Meschech, Tubal, Persia, Cush, Put, Gomer, and Beth-togarmah” (Ezekiel 38:1-6). These nations have since come to be known as the Gog of Magog alliance.
Now, with the exception of Persia and Cush, I realize most people have never heard of these nations.
But keep in mind Ezekiel used the names of these nations as they were known in his day. Each one is a clearly identifiable nation today. So who are these nations in our day and time?
Below is a list. The Old Testament name is listed first, followed by its modern day equivalent:
Rosh = Russia
Magog = Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan
Persia = Iran
Cush = Sudan
Put = Libya
Meshech, Tubal, Gomer, and Beth-togarmah = Turkey
Collectively, these nations have never attacked Israel. In fact, in the history of the world, such an alliance of nations has never existed.
But today we see it coming together right in front of us. Since 1989, Russia and Iran have gradually strengthened their diplomatic, military, and economic ties.
Yet, in the first 2,600 years after Ezekiel recorded his prophecies, the nations of Russia and Persia (Iran) had never been part of any alliance of any sort. Never. Cooperation between Russia and Iran, especially military cooperation, didn’t take place.
This led many people to claim Ezekiel’s prophecy was symbolic. Why? Because the idea of the Gog of Magog war seemed absurd. After all, at the dawn of the 20th Century, Russia was an orthodox Christian nation and Israel didn’t exist!
But those who believed in a literal interpretation of the Bible knew otherwise. They knew all prophecy would come to pass. Because bible prophecy doesn’t come from mere humans. It’s God’s Word (2 Peter 1:19-21).
In the years since, the stage has been set for the literal fulfillment of Ezekiel 38-39. A 1917 communist revolution transformed Russia from a Christian nation to an atheist nation.
In 1948, Israel once again became a nation. And earlier this week, Russia and Iran issued a joint statement vowing to respond with force to any aggressor.
And Turkey? For decades, people have wondered how Turkey could be a part of this alliance. After all, Turkey is a member of NATO.
And in late 2015, Turkey shot down a Russian jet when it strayed into Turkish airspace. Russia and Turkey seem to be at odds.
So how could Turkey be a part of this alliance? At first glance, it seems unlikely. But in the summer of 2016, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan jailed thousands of political opponents. And recently, Turkey voted to eliminate its parliamentary form of government and give expanded powers to Erdogan.
Ultimately, this could be what pushes Turkey into the Russian sphere of influence. Erdogan is an anti-Western, pro-Islamist leader, and he’s worked hard to strengthen Turkey’s ties with Russia.
He has had several heated exchanges with Israel’s Netanyahu in the press and has shown support for the Hamas uprising along the border in Gaza. Turkey has clearly shifted from friend to foe over the past decade and presents a direct threat to Israel having one of the largest militaries in the region.
In light of these developments, we can see the Gog of Magog alliance coming together for the first time in history.
For the first time since Israel re-emerged on the world scene in May 1948, the main players of the Ezekiel 38-39 alliance are all working together.
Even more important, they all have military personnel close to Israel’s border. The stage is set for the fulfillment of Ezekiel 38-39.
What Will Ultimately Happen?
While terrible destruction awaits Damascus (Isaiah 17:1), northern Israel (Isaiah 17:3), and the entire Gog of Magog Alliance (Ezekiel 38:19-22), we have reason to be hopeful.
Because of these events, the Bible says people will soon look to and acknowledge their Creator – the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Isaiah 17:7).
When He strikes down Israel’s enemies, the whole world will know He is the God Israel (Ezekiel 38:23).
In the days and weeks ahead, we can’t be certain what will happen in Syria. But in the long run, we can be absolutely certain the events of Isaiah 17 and Ezekiel 38-39 will be fulfilled.
Damascus will lie in ruin, and the Gog of Magog Alliance will be destroyed. These events are certain.
Because whatever He has declared, God will bring to pass (Isaiah 14:24). And when these things happen, the world will no longer be able to deny Him. He will destroy the enemies of Israel in plain view of the entire world.
“In this way,” says the Lord. “I will show my greatness and holiness, and I will make myself known to all the nations of the world. Then they will know that I am the Lord.” Ezekiel 38:23 (NLT)

“I will set fire to the wall of Damascus, And it shall consume the fortresses of Ben-hadad.” Jeremiah 48:27 (The Israel Bible™)
As the tensions in Syria have escalated into a US-led missile attack on Friday, several end-of-days experts weigh in on the situation, explaining who are the good guys, who are the bad guys, what are the real causes and what do Biblical sources say will happen.
The rising multinational tensions in Syria burst into flames on Friday when US President Trump led a coalition with the United Kingdom and France in a missile attack against Syrian President Assad’s chemical weapons laboratories. This was in response to a chlorine attack Assad allegedly perpetrated last Saturday against the Syrian town of Dhouma, in which dozens of civilians were killed.
Military forces from many nations are currently deployed in Syria with Russia maintaining air-bases in support of Syrian President Bashar Al Assad. A US led coalition has all but eliminated the Islamic State from the region. However, a myriad of rebel groups battling Assad in a seven-year civil war that has killed almost half-a-million Syrian helped create a Gordian Knot of mixed alliances.
With the situation to the north of Israel spiraling out of control and the tensions rising, several end-of-days experts explain their geula (redemption) perspectives which may give more insight than political commentaries.
The Jerusalem Connection
Rabbi Yosef Dayan is a member of the nascent Sanhedrin, created to re-establish the Biblically mandated court of 71 elders. He also claims to be able to trace his lineage back to the Davidic dynasty. Rabbi Dayan sees the current situation on the Temple Mount as the source for what is happening in Syria and in many other parts of the world.
“The Arabs have no connection with Jerusalem but they took it over the Temple Mount in order to turn it into a place of war,” Rabbi Dayan told Breaking Israel News. “They succeeded and now, because of the significance of the Temple Mount, that power of war is going out into the world. So much so that in Syria, Assad is killing his own people, which doesn’t make sense. Why would a ruler do that? It lessens his rule.
“And the world reaction doesn’t make sense,” Rabbi Dayan noted. “No one said a word about all the death in Syria or other places in the world until now.”
Rabbi Dayan noted another evil that was set loose on the world by the Muslim world’s dominance on the Temple Mount.
“The Muslims lost the Temple Mount in a battle, but they managed to steal it anyway,” Rabbi Dayan said. “This is giving them the power to go out and steal other countries. There are sections of Syria which really belong to Biblical Israel but are now under the rule of Assad. The Muslims are taking over sections of Europe in the same way; without a single battle. Soon this will happen in America.”
The rabbi sees the battle lines as being very clearly defined in terms of Jerusalem.
“There are so many who use twisted logic to justify a Muslim presence on the Temple Mount, even over Jerusalem itself,” Rabbi Dayan said. “The people who are against stopping the murder in Syria are the same ones who do not want Jews to pray for peace on the Temple Mount.”
Torah Codes: Assad is Amalek
Rabbi Matityahu Glazerson is an expert in Torah Codes. Rabbi Glazerson uses a special computer program to search for series of letters in the Bible in order to extract hidden messages. He released a video on Sunday explaining hidden aspects of the events in Syria.
Rabbi Glazerson did a search and found the words “אסד רוצח” (Assad the murderer) in the book of Exodus. Connected to these words is the word “עמלק” (Amalek). He noted that just like the nation of Amalek attacked the weaker elements of the Children of Israel in the Exodus, the elderly and the very young, Assad’s chemical attack also targeted the weak. It was for this reason that Israel was commanded to battle Amalek forever.
He said, “It means, ‘Hand upon the throne of Hashem!’ Hashem will be at war with Amalek throughout the ages.” Exodus 17:16
“When [Assad] kills half-a-million of his people in the conventional way, nothing is done,” Rabbi Glazerson said in the video. “But when he attacks his people with chemical weapons, the United States and others attack. It is difficult to understand. Really, there should have been some reaction before. This is because people are beginning to realize the importance of Torah. This mean the Messiah will be coming soon to redeem us from these very cruel leaders.”
Rabbi Glazerson also found that in this code, the word ‘Amalek’ shares the letter “ע” (Ayin) which is included in the numerical letters of the current year on the Hebrew calendar, תשעח or 5778. This indicates, according to Glazerson that this murderous Amalek aspect of Assad would become even more apparent this year.
Syria Being Punished for Yom Kippur War
Rabbi Nir Ben Artzi is a prominent Israeli mystic whose predictions have frequently come true. In his weekly sermon published online on Sunday, Rabbi Ben Artzi assured his many followers that the recent American missile attack would not result in an escalation of hostilities.
“The United States and Russia both love Israel very much,” Rabbi Ben Artzi said. “Neither Russia nor the US want a third world war or an atomic war, nor do they want to destroy the world. Neither government is in a hurry to start a war.”
Rabbi Ben Artzi emphasized the divine aid afforded the US president in these events. The rabbi also offered a small bit of advice.
“Trump is a smart man, guided from Heaven. The Creator of the World sends an angel to speak through Trump. All of the fighting in Syria is a war for honor. Issues of honor should be put aside so a solution can be found to dismantle the factories for chemical warfare in Syria.”
Rabbi Ben Artzi blamed Syria’s misfortune on its sins against Israel during the Yom Kippur War in 1973. Syria played a leading role, coming dangerously close to annihilating Israel while inflicting massive casualties on the much smaller Jewish State.
“Even until now, Hashem (God, literally ‘the name’) has not forgiven Syria for the pain and suffering it brought to Israel in the Yom Kippur War,” Rabbi Ben Artzi said. “More than any Arab nation, they killed Israelis and tried to destroy the covenant, exactly like the Amalekites. The Holy One, Blessed be He, sees everything and never forgets.”
“No one understands but isn’t it clear?” the rabbi asks rhetorically. “The entire world was brought to fight in Syria. Isn’t it clear that this could only be the Hand of God?”
Beginnings of Gog and Magog: Whoever is for Hashem, come to me!
Rabbi Pinchas Winston is a prolific author on the subjects of the Messiah and the End-of-Days, which he feels are entirely relevant to current events in Syria. For Rabbi Winston, the growing hostilities were divinely guided but entirely anticipated.
“Twenty-five years ago, I read in the Zohar (the seminal work of Jewish mysticism) that the War of Gog and Magog would come from the North,” Rabbi Winston told Breaking Israel News. “Since then, I’ve been looking in that direction. It was never a matter of what would happen but when it would happen. This escalation is the first sign of Gog and Magog, and once you open it up, it is almost impossible to put it back.”
Rabbi Winston is a student of history but emphasized that when viewed solely as a historical process, the situation to the north of Israel should not have played out as it did.
“What is happening now, the threat to Assad’s government, should have happened years ago when Obama first took apart the Middle East,” Rabbi Winston said. “As a direct result of Obama’s policies, Mubarak, one of the most firmly entrenched leaders in the region, fell. Gaddafi in Libya fell. Saddam Hussein fell.
“According to all laws of nature, Syria should have fallen,” he continued. “It was clearly divine intervention that propped up Assad until now.”
“Iran has a Biblical role, giving them a bigger role than Russia in how this plays out,” Rabbi Winston said. “You can see this because Russia is operating in their own interests. Iran is pushing forward even if it means self-destruction.”
Rabbi Winston noted that once the divine aspect of the conflict in Syria was made clear, the confusing jumble of alliances would begin to make sense.
“The battle lines are very clear,” Rabb Winston said. “It may look like a bunch of strange alliances but you shouldn’t look at who is aligned with Russia or who says they are aligned with America. Even in America, you have people who are confused about which side they are on. That is all just the packaging and is a distraction.”
Rabbi Winston cited Moses’ call to battle as the deciding factor in choosing sides in the Syrian conflict.
Moshe stood up in the gate of the camp and said, “Whoever is for Hashem, come here!” Exodus 32:26
“It is really about who is for Hashem since that is what we are here for, “ Rabbi Winston said. “Once you focus on that, the sides in the conflict become clear.”
Heavenly War
Rabbi Yosef Berger, the rabbi of King David’s Tomb on Mount Zion, sees the conflict in Syria as being more divine than mundane.
“It is clearly Divine intervention that has supported Syria while all the other countries around them fell,” Rabbi Berger told Breaking Israel News. “This was only so that all 70 nations of the world would gather in Syria as they are doing now.”
“But each nation has its ministering angel and the real battle is being waged in Heaven between them. We do not see this battle but we will see the results. As the angel of Syria falls, all the other ministering angels of Esau and Ishmael will fall as well.”
Rabbi Berger emphasized that this was not just a regional conflict. The battle being waged in Syria has implications for the Moshiach (Messiah). Rabbi Berger cited Rabbi Jacob ben Asher, a 13th-century Biblical commentator known as the Ba’al Haturim, in his explanation of a verse in Genesis.
These were the years of the life of Ishmael: one hundred and thirty-seven years; then he breathed his last and died, and was gathered to his kin. Genesis 25:18
Rabbi Asher explained in his commentary, “this verse, relating the death of Ishmael, is adjacent to the verse describing Isaac’s life, in order to teach that when Ishmael falls, it will be the end-of-days, and the Son of David (the Messiah), who is from the descendants of Isaac, will flourish.”
“Of all the countries in the world, it is very strange that Israel seems to be the least involved with what is going on in Syria,” Rabbi Berger said. “But it will become clear that the fall of Syria will mark a turning point in the geula (redemption).”
