1Cor. 10:26 For the earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof

QUESTION:   You have written that in effect Jesus said to hate the sin but love the sinner. My friend says no where in the Bible does it say that Jesus or God ever said hate the sin, love the sinner.

ANSWER:   Your friend is correct. Jesus never said hate the sin, love the sinner but that’s the way He lived. In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus re-defined sin to a previously unheard of level, essentially saying that thinking about sinning is as bad as doing it. But He was frequently accused of fraternizing with sinners, and in fact spent most of His time with them.

With the woman caught in the act of adultery, even though He told her to stop sinning, He refused to condemn her (John 8:11). The same was true with the crippled man He healed in John 5:14.

When they nailed Him to the cross to kill Him, He prayed, “Father forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing (Luke 23:34).

He never condoned the sin, but He never condemned the sinner. He said, “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance” (Luke 5:32). His goal in dealing with sinners was always reconciling them to God, and He ultimately accomplished this with His death.

For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross (Colossians 1:19-20) Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).

QUESTION:   Recently a group calling themselves “Gay Christians” have put up a billboard on our local highway announcing that it is OK to be Christian and gay. While I know that God hates all types of sins, how does a “straight” Christian handle comments, activities, etc., regarding this group?

ANSWER:   While I doubt anything you do or say could change this group’s position, both the Old and New Testaments specifically identify homosexuality as a sin. No number of protestations to the contrary can change that. But remember, Jesus died for our sins, and there’s nothing in the Bible that excludes homosexuality from God’s forgiveness. We’re all sinners of one type or another, although most of us don’t put up billboards to advertise our sins.

In 1 Corinthians 5:9-11 Paul said we shouldn’t associate with people who call themselves Christians but are openly involved in sinful behavior. But He also said if possible, as far as it depends upon us, we should live at peace with everyone (Romans 12:18). To many people this means we should love the sinner but hate the sin. How do we do that? 1 John 5:16 says if we see a believer committing a sin we should pray for that person, asking God to forgive him or her.

By the way, the sin John mentioned there that leads to death is the sin of refusing the pardon Jesus purchased for us with His blood. All other sins can be forgiven.

QUESTION:   I am really struggling with mental attacks, can you please keep me in your prayers? What I am struggling with is how do I let my light shine before men? When I am with non-believers whether family or co-workers I don’t know how to witness and when I don’t I come under condemnation.

ANSWER:   Romans 8:1 declares, “Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Any condemnation you’re experiencing is coming from the Enemy. Memorize Romans 8:1 and next time you experience the condemnation, repeat it out loud until you don’t feel that way any more.

Then, instead of tying to come up with something clever to say, ask the Lord to lead you when you feel the need to witness. If He wants you to do it, He’ll empower you. If He doesn’t, don’t say anything because you’ll just be trying to perform in your own strength, it won’t have the desired result, and you’ll feel bad again.

When you’ve relaxed and no longer feel the pressure to perform, He’ll put the words in your mouth and everything will work just fine. Remember that the Lord said to let your light shine, not to make it shine. We’re at our most effective when we let people see the Lord at work in our lives instead of trying to force Him on them.

HASSA, Turkey/BEIRUT (Reuters) – Turkey opened a new front in Syria’s war on Saturday, launching airstrikes against a U.S.-backed Kurdish militia in Afrin province that raise the prospect of worsening relations between Ankara and NATO ally Washington.

The operation, which the Turks dubbed “Operation Olive Branch”, sees Ankara confronting Kurdish fighters allied to the United States at a time when ties between Turkey and Washington – both members of the coalition against Islamic State – appear dangerously close to a breaking point.

The attacks could also complicate Turkey’s push to improve its relationship with Russia. Moscow will demand in the United Nations that Turkey halt the operation, RIA news reported, citing a member of the Russian parliament’s security committee.

The Syrian government condemned what it called Turkish aggression and said Afrin was an intrinsic part of Syrian land.

“We are carrying out this operation from land and air,” Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told broadcaster NTV. He said the attacks were being carried out to target the Syrian-Kurdish YPG militia and that no civilians had been hurt.

“In a situation like this our expectations from everyone and especially from our allies is that they side with us, not with terrorists,” he said, appearing to refer to Washington.

Some 108 targets had been hit in airstrikes, the Turkish military

said. A Turkey-backed rebel group in Syria, the Free Syrian Army, was also providing assistance to the operation in Afrin, a senior Turkish official said.

The YPG said the attacks left it with no choice but to fight back, saying Ankara had hit civilian neighborhoods and a number of people had been wounded.

“We will defeat this aggression, like we have defeated other such assaults against our villages and cities,” the YPG said.

Rojhat Roj, a YPG media official in Afrin, said warplanes pounded parts of Afrin city and villages around it, while there were skirmishes with Turkish forces and their rebel allies at the edge of Afrin.

Hevi Mustafa, a top member of the civilian administration that governs Afrin, said people were holed up in shelters and homes and several wounded people had arrived in hospitals.

Authorities in the Afrin region and war monitors say at least a million people live in the Afrin canton. Many of them are displaced from other areas.

Reuters cameramen in Hassa, near the border with Syria, heard the sound of heavy bombardment and saw thick plumes of smoke rising from the Syrian side of the border. The warplanes appeared to be striking from the Turkish side of the border, one of the cameramen said.

The attacks follow weeks of warnings against the YPG in Syria from President Tayyip Erdogan and his ministers. Turkey considers the YPG to be an extension of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), which has carried out a deadly, three-decade insurgency in Turkey’s mainly Kurdish southeast.

Turkey has been particularly outraged by an announcement that the United States planned to train 30,000 personnel in a part of eastern Syria under the control of the YPG-spearheaded Syrian Democratic Forces.

Turkish officials have said the operation is likely to continue toward Manbij, further east. They also said that thousands of pro-Turkey civilians had escaped the YPG-controlled areas in an attempt to reach Aleppo.

However, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a U.K-based monitoring organization said it was not true that people were fleeing en-masse.

The YPG’s growing strength across large parts of northern Syria has alarmed Ankara, which fears the creation of an independent Kurdish state on its southern border. Syrian Kurdish leaders say they seek autonomy as part of Syria, not secession.

The Turkish military said its Afrin operation was to provide safety for Turkey’s border and to “eliminate terrorists… and save friends and brothers, the people of the region, from their cruelty.”

“We will destroy the terror corridor gradually as we did in Jarabulus and Al-Bab operations, starting from the west,” Turkey’s Erdogan said, referring to previous operations in northern Syria designed to push out Islamic State and check the YPG’s advance.

Earlier on Saturday, the military said it hit shelters and hideouts used by the YPG and other Kurdish fighters, saying Kurdish militants had fired on Turkish positions inside Turkey.

But the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces – which the YPG spearheads – accused Turkey on Saturday of using cross-border shelling as a false pretext to launch an offensive in Syria.

Differences over Syria policy have further complicated Turkey’s already difficult relationship with NATO ally the United States. Washington has backed the YPG, seeing it as an effective partner in the fight against Islamic State.

A U.S. State Department official on Friday said military intervention by Turkey in Syria would undermine regional stability and would not help protect Turkey’s border security.

Instead, the United States has called on Turkey to focus on the fight against Islamic State. Ankara accuses Washington of using one terrorist group to fight another in Syria.

Dave Hodges –

The Trump phenomenon is picking up steam, not just in America, but internationally. Worldwide people are rejecting the globalists. The reason for this phenomenon is because freedom and the subsequent development of an internal locus of control is an innate trait.

In a stunning example of this rejection of globalism is exemplified by North and South Korea. Here are two nations, with a common heritage, on the verge of nuclear war with each other, and they have for the time being, rejected the globalist move towards World War III.  The two Koreas are going to march together in the Olympics. The two Koreas are going to form on joint Olympic hockey team. This is significant beyond belief. In the chaos leading up to WW III, the people and the leadership of the two countries are telling the globalists where to go and what to do when they get they get there.

This announcement is a stunning rebuke of globalist goals. It further demonstrates that war is an unnatural act. The Hopis’ have a saying that no tree is so foolish to have branches so stupid to attack themselves. We are the only species on the planet that engages in this insane behavior we call war. The desire for war, especially a war that could wipe out the bulk of humanity is so insane that both North Korea and South Korea have rejected the move. I have one caveat for the wonderful Korean people, beware of false flags at the Olympics because one does not say “no” to the globalists with impunity.

Mounting a Defense Against Humanity’s Right to Self-Determination

In many ways, Trump’s election was a kind of Magna Carta and a Declaration of Independence all in one fell swoop and now the globalists are trying to find ways to fight back and their efforts are falling on deaf ears. Here in Arizona, Senator Jeff Flake(y), has announced that he is not running for re-election. Why? Because Flake cannot defeat any number of challengers to his seat (eg Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Congresswoman Sinema). Why is Flake so unpopular in Arizona? The answer is painfully obvious, he opposes Trump’s nationalist agenda of making “America Great Again”.

Flake is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He opposes the recovery of the middle class, the wiping out of the free-trade agreements. He is a closet globalist who has gone as far as he can in his political career because the people of Arizona have tagged him a globalist who really hates America. He is politically washed up and now he is exhibiting the two year old tendencies of a temper tantrum in which Flake(y) stated that President Trump’s treatment of the fake news media reminds him of Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin. As shocking and disrespectful as these comments were, nobody was paying attention. Flake delivered his comments in an empty chamber of the US Senate. Only two Democrats attended.

There can be no question that Flake is trying to draw favor from the globalists as he lives out his final days as Arizona’s junior senator. However, he and his message are rejected and like so many globalists are finding, they and their message of hate and division are being rebuked by humanity, not just by Americans. The populism of Trump is triumphing in America. However, there is not cause for celebration because the globalists are redoubling their efforts against Trump ultimately against humanity.

The Globalist State of the Union Message

Nobel Prize winning economist Robert Shiller has brought the extremist globalist war against the common man out in the open when he stated that Trump is an avowed “nationalist” who must be stopped at all costs.

CNBC one of the waterboys for the New World Order, stated that Shiller says the world’s leaders find it “troublesome” that Trump’s nationalism” was thwarting the rising tide of a globalist takeover.

I find it incredible that Schiller put globalism on display for all to see. CNBC quoted Shiller as bemoaning the fact that .”Trump is a revolution unfortunately, who’s reaffirming nationalism…”

Shiller stated that Trump’s “nationalist” victories will be short-lived because the Democrats will recapture Congress in the mid-term elections and Trump’s “America First” agenda will be effectively derailed. I am absolutely stunned how open the globalist are now becoming. They are not even hiding their agenda as they have for so many decades. Terms like “conspiracy theorist” no longer carry the punch that they once did.

Shiller said Trump’s nationalist agenda is crazy. Apple just announced that they are investing $350 Billion in American plants. This is on the heels of Cadillac making the same kind of announcement as have dozens of “globalist corporations” who are defecting to Trump because they can make more money under the new tax plan than they can under the marxist-socialist policies of the wannabe elite.

Conclusions Drawn From Recent Events

Shiller issued a threat to all men and women of common means. He stated that upcoming economic forum in Davos will find ways to stunt “the international growth of populism and nationalism that has surged as a result of Brexit and Trump”.

I believe that privately, assassination and a coup against the American government will be considered in the side-bar meetings that will take place. I am publicly advising the President to not attend the Davos conference as I believe his life is in extreme danger at this conference.

Shiller refers to the Trump phenomenon as a virus that has to be controlled and destroyed. Shiller and a rising number of globalists are openly referring to populism as a threat that must be destroyed by any and all means possible as the planet marches toward globalism. Shiller and the rest of the globalists have openly declared war on humanity. There is no limit to what these people will not do.

From the discussions I have had since the Hawaiian so-called fake missile alert, I have concluded that there was a indeed a missile fired at Hawaii in which it is my personal opinion that this was an attempt to provoke the American people into wanting WW III against North Korea. I believe that this missile was brought down and then the coverup started.  I have learned that the mechanism of warning of an impending attack is a 5 step process and the excuse that a wrong button was pushed in shift change is ridiculous.

The readers may recall that the next day the same thing happened in Japan in which it was revealed that their system mimics the American system and is also a 5 step process before an alert is issued. I believe that what we will find as these two events are unveiled is that two missiles were fired in order to achieve the same end. I believe that this was a false flag attack attempting  to frame North Korea for starting World War III. It is also my opinion that this attempted attack was in response to the announcement that the two Koreas are attempting to align along sports, namely, the Olympics.

The globalists are desperate to not let this war of planetary unification commence against North Korea. I think it is clear that the world just avoided two attempted false flag events designed to produce World War III.  Details are already leaking out and it will not be long until we have more proof to support my hypothesis. There is no question that the events in Hawaii were fabricated.

We live in perilous times and the fate of every person on this planet could turn in a moment. Please heed the advice of so many take precautions by beomcing indiviudally prepared. As in all recent disasters, the government has proven that they cannot effectively respond to any large-scale crisis, much less a nuclear war or a series of false flag events.

The people are finally speaking as one against the insane globalists, the globalists will respond by exterminating humanity if need be. At the end of the day, you can only rely on your family, your level of preparation and your faith in God.

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”  This scripture found in John 8:32 is often misquoted as, “and the truth shall set you free.”  While it may not seem like such a big deal, replacing one word with another in scripture can often be problematic.  However, taking one or two verses out of context can cause even greater problems for the reader, namely that the point the Holy Spirit was making when He inspired the author to pen certain words may be lost if the entire context of scripture is not followed.

In the context of John 8:31-32, Jesus was teaching in the temple, with many people listening, some of whom became believers in Him, when he was confronted by a group of religious experts of the day, the scribes and Pharisees.  These religious folks brought a woman taken in adultery unto Him, and tried to use her to trap Jesus in His words.  They were very aware that The Law of Moses pronounced a sentence of death by stoning for adultery; so, in their treachery, they demanded to know what judgment Jesus would pronounce on her.  However, Jesus quietly knelt and wrote on the ground with His finger.

As the scribes and Pharisees continued to tempt Him, He stood and said, “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her” (John 8:7).  Then, once again, He knelt and wrote with His finger on the ground.

We are not told what Jesus wrote either time, but, between what he said and His writing on the ground, His words convicted them; and, one by one, they went out from Jesus’ presence.  The wisdom of God, through the Holy Spirit in Jesus, shut the mouths of the religious Jews who tried to catch Jesus in His words.  We are not told that Jesus tried to hide what He wrote, so we can assume that His tempters could see the writing.

Many have conjectured that Jesus wrote down their own, likely hidden, individual sins.  In any case, with her accusers gone, Jesus did not condemn the woman, but instead admonished her to “go and sin no more.”  If she followed the words of Messiah, she was to be separated from the life of sin in which she was trapped.

In everything He said, Jesus spoke only the truth to all those listening.  Unfortunately for the scribes and Pharisees who refused to hear Him, Jesus words, the Truth, separated them from their Messiah.  Had they truly heard His words, believed on Him and repented of their sins, they would still have been separated by Jesus’ words, but in a very different sense.  Believing on Him, they would have begun the process of separating from the generations-old Jewish customs and traditions that yet today separate the unbelieving Jews from their Messiah.

During this teaching recorded in John 8, when Jesus said that if those listening to Him should continue in His word, they would be His disciples and they would be made free, the Jews stated, in what I would guess was a very indignant manner, that, being the children of Abraham, they had never been in bondage to any man, and then questioned how they would be made free.

At this point, Jesus said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin” (John 8:34).

What He was trying to get across to them was that they were all in bondage to sin, any sin in their lives, and their religious traditions, being in contradiction to what Jesus taught, were definitely sin in their lives.  Had they listened to His words, accepted them and ‘continued in them,’ the bondage of which they seemed unaware would have been removed and they would have been made free.

During His earthly ministry, Jesus spoke many things that seem difficult to understand.  For instance, it is recorded in Matthew 10:33, “But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.”  Note that in this verse Jesus is talking about separation, and this separation is eternal and unchangeable.

In Matthew 10:34-39, Jesus said, “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.  And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.  He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.  And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.  He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.”

In this scripture, Jesus was indicating that, when a person accepts Him as Lord, it may separate that person from even his closest family members unless those others also follow Jesus.  When the Truth begins its work of separation, a believer will sometimes be faced with difficult choices and a serious question: Who will have first place in the life of a believer?

Paul explained the work of The Word in separation, and it is recorded in Hebrews 4:12, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

The sword of the Word will bring separation, as the believer allows it to work in his or her life.

The theme of truth that brings separation is repeated many times throughout the New Testament.  In Romans 12:1-2, Paul wrote, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

To be conformed to the world is to be in bondage to the world and all its ways.

Here, Paul is teaching the saints in Rome about the same separation that Jesus was trying to get across to the Scribes and Pharisees.  In fact, in verse 1, Paul calls this separation, ‘offering our bodies a living sacrifice, which is man’s reasonable service.’  According to the law of Moses, for any sacrifice offered by the Jewish High Priest to be accepted by God as a substitute for that perfect sacrifice which was yet to come, it had to be as free from any impurity as humanly possible.  Any lesser condition was a reason for rejection of the sacrifice.

Paul was saying that, to be approved by God, and know His will for our lives, we are required to separate ourselves from any sin/impurity we had previously engaged in and become as ‘living sacrifices,’ living as purely as possible through the constant renewing of our minds, by allowing the Word to cleanse us and bring purification through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Although the rebirth of the human spirit is instantaneous when we accept Jesus as Lord, the purification of the soul, and sometimes the body, is a much longer process, depending on the type of bondage one has been in.  In fact, due to the temptations offered by Satan, this is a lifelong process and must be continued diligently by every true believer.

When any person sincerely accepts Jesus, The Truth, he or she begins the required separation from old habits, old traditions, old friends, old haunts, old beliefs, anything that would hinder a closer relationship with Jesus, the Word of God.  This is what Paul referred to as ‘the renewing of the mind.’  It is also known as discipleship.

The Jewish leaders of Jesus’ day walked away from Him and his words in the temple, still in bondage to their traditions and customs.  Instead of being separated from those bonds, their hearts, being hardened, separated them from Jesus, the only Way to God.  Being unwilling to separate themselves from their religious customs and traditions and accept the Messiah standing before them, they disqualified themselves as candidates for becoming the living sacrifices Paul taught later.  They were still dead in their spirits, and until the human spirit is reborn, the human mind cannot be renewed, and the required separation cannot begin.

It is crucial, in this unbelievably evil day in which we live, that all believers continually allow the Word to perfect us from glory to glory.

As written in Paul’s letter to the Church at Ephesus: “…even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify (*separate) and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish” (Ephesians 5:25b-27) (*parenthesis mine) Amen.

“In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a message was revealed to Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar. The message was true, but the appointed time was long; and he understood the message, and had understanding of the vision” (Daniel 10:1)

A message was revealed to Daniel, during the the third year of Cyrus (535/534 B.C.), just a few years before Daniel’s death. Through Nebuchadnezzar’s dreams (Daniel 2:1) and through Daniel’s vision of four beasts (Daniel 7), God had already revealed that there would be four world-ruling empires followed by the Kingdom of God. In Daniel chapter 11, God reveals to Daniel some amazing details about major world powers, in order! (Daniel was written in the sixth century B.C., these prophecies predict from the 5th century B.C., up until 400 years after the prophecy). Let’s see the prophecies…

The prophecy of Daniel 11 begins with the prediction that “three more kings will arise in Persia” Three more kings did arise in history: Cyrus, Cambyses, and Hystaspes. Followed by a fourth who would “stir up all against the realm of Greece” (Daniel 11:2). The fourth, was the Persian king, Xerxes, who reigned 485-464 B.C. who invaded Greece!

Daniel 11:3-4 then speaks of the appearance of “a mighty king,” whose kingdom would be broken up and divided toward the four winds of heaven.” The next phase in world empires was the rise of Alexander the Great, who was indeed a mighty king. And just as verse 4 states, Alexander’s kingdom was divided into four sections: Greece, Asia Minor, Syria, and Egypt!

Daniel 11:5 goes on to say, And the king of the south shall be strong” and one of his princes will “be strong above him”. The king of the South was Ptolemy I (Soter), son of Lagus. Egypt was the southernmost point of the Persian, Greek and Roman Empires. The prince under Ptolemy I who would become stronger than Ptolemy I was Seleucus Nicator of the Selucid Empire! He became king of Syria, the most powerful of Alexander’s successors.

Daniel 11:6 says that in the end of years they shall join themselves together; king’s daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement.” The “daughter” was Berenice, daughter of Ptolemy II (285-246BC). The “agreement” was a proposed peace treaty that called for Antiochus II to marry Berenice! But Daniel then says, in regards to the agreement, “but she shall not retain the power of the arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm: but she shall be given up” Antiochus already had a wife, who did not take kindly to being divorced, and therefore she managed to have both Berenice and her infant son, whom she had borne to Antiochus, assassinated. The prophecy was fulfilled concerning Berenice, that she would be ‘given up’.

But out of a branch of her roots shall one stand up in his estate, which shall come with an army, and shall enter into the fortress of the king of the north, and shall deal against them, and shall prevail” (Daniel 11:7). Ptolemy III (Euergetes) organized a great expeditionary force against Syria, in order to avenge his sister’s death. This war raged from 246 to 241.

Daniel 11:8 says he “shall also carry captives into Egypt their gods, with their princes, and with their precious vessels of silver and of gold” Ptolemy III recovered the idols of Egypt taken by Cambyses in 524 B.C.

Daniel 11:9 says, “So the king of the south shall come into his kingdom, and shall return into his own land.” Although he did not enter Egypt itself, Seleucus II regained control of northern Syria and Phoenicia.

Daniel 11:13-16 document the eventual wresting of the Holy Land from Egyptian control by Antiochus the Great. (Space precludes further discussion of this prophecy)

Daniel 11:17 tells us he will make an alliance with the king of the South,”he will give him a daughter in marriage in order to overthrow the kingdom, but his plans will not succeed or help him” Hoping to gain advantage over Egypt, Antiochus the Great gave his daughter, Cleopatra, in marriage to Ptolemy V in 195 B.C. But Antiochus’ daughter sided with her husband and no advantage was gained.

“Then he will turn his attention to the coastlands and will take many of them, but a commander will put an end to his insolence and will turn his insolence back on him.” (Daniel 11:18) Antiochus turned his attention to Asia Minor and Greece (the ‘coastlands’), but then the Roman consul Lucius Scipio Asciaticus (the ‘commander’)  came and defeated Antiochus in Asia Minor in 190 BC.

Daniel 11:19 says that, after this, “he will turn back toward the fortresses of his own country but will stumble and fall, to be seen no more.” Antiochus died in 187 BC while attempting to plunder a temple in the province of Elymais fulfilling the prophecy that he will ‘Stumble and fall’.

Daniel 11:20 says, “His successor will send out a tax collector to maintain the royal splendor. In a few years, however, he will be destroyed, yet not in anger or in battle.” The brief 12-year reign of Antiochus III’s eldest son, Seleucus IV, was marked by heavy taxes throughout Palestine. Seleucus was soon poisoned to death by his minister, Heliodorus.

Daniel 11:21-34 document the tyrannical oppression of the Jewish people by Antiochus Epiphanes. (Space precludes further discussion of this prophecy)

Daniel 11, up to verse 35, was clearly and at times amazingly precisely fulfilled in the four hundred years leading up to the birth of Jesus!

Besides Genesis, no other book of the OT has been subjected to as much scrutiny as the Book of Daniel. Obviously, for its detailed and accurate prophecies contained within. The above was just chapter 11. Daniel also predicts the precise year of Christ’s appearance and the beginning of his ministry in A.D. 27, Daniel 8 foretells of Alexander the Great, Daniel 2 and 7 predicts the four great world-ruling kingdoms, as well as the revived Roman Empire (which you can read about here), and many more, that I’ll cover in future articles. Skeptics have suggested that the book of Daniel was written several hundred years later, during the 160s B.C., after these events had already transpired. But foretelling the future is not difficult for God. The following are three evidences that disprove skeptics’ claims:

The Aramaic and Hebrew in the book of Daniel, is from somewhere between roughly 350 and 600 BC, according to experts.

The book of Daniel is included in the Greek Septuagint translation (which we know was made by about 180 BC, and probably earlier) as well as the discovery of fragments of Daniel in the Dead Sea Scrolls – that possibly date from the second century B.C., however, these are only a copy, thus placing the book earlier.

Josephus, a reputable historian, actually recorded that Alexander the Great read about himself in the book of Daniel.1 For a further critic of the book of Daniel, read The Book of Daniel Defended.

The above evidences, without a doubt, strongly confirm an early date for Daniel before the 5th century BC.

In a conversation relayed below, Smith and Shum told us how Microsoft plans to take the lead, how they think AI will affect the future of work, and how 20 years from now our “alter egos” will exist in artificial intelligence.

As artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming both more sophisticated and more integrated into our lives, Microsoft is positioning itself at the forefront of artificial intelligence research.

“And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” Revelation 13:15 (KJV)

EDITOR’S NOTE: As I write this, in the last days before the Rapture of the Church, Microsoft, Google and Amazon are working feverishly to integrate the crazy popular ‘digital assistants’ like Alexa, Cortana and Echo into our lives. We reported a few days ago that Facebook is  jumping into the game as well with ‘Portal‘. To prepare the lost to receive the ‘image of the beast’ from Revelation 13, the world is being groomed right now to accept ‘digital assistants’ which are nothing more than AI matched with human qualities. People all over the world are already talking to these digital images brought to life in thier living rooms, telling them to do things, asking them questions, and getting very dependant on them. The future is now, people, time to wake up and get ready for what comes next.

Business Insider spoke with Microsoft president and CLO Brad Smith and EVP of AI and Research Harry Shum about their new book, “The Future Computed,” in which they explain how the company is prepared to do this.

In it, Smith and Shum argue that:

  • The companies and countries that embrace AI will perform best.
  • There must be a consensus on the ethics of AI to enable consumer trust.
  • AI research must be shared among competitors if progress is to reach its full potential.
  • There needs to be an infusion of talent from people with humanities backgrounds to guide AI to human parity when decision-making responsibility is handed over to the technology.
  • They stress the need for tech to work with governments and academia to determine the best ways for overcoming the potential dangers of handing over aspects of our lives to computers mimicking human thought.

“We make the point that tech companies will know more than anybody else about how the technology works, but that doesn’t mean that tech companies will know best how AI should be used in ways that are societally responsible and beneficial,” Smith said.

Richard Feloni: You write about the interplay among tech companies, governments, and academia in terms of the development of AI. Why is Microsoft taking a leadership position at the forefront of AI research?

Brad Smith: Well, I guess first and foremost, we see the need to broaden the conversation about these issues. You have people in the tech sector focused intensely on issues like ethics for AI, and there’s interaction with academia and universities about this. But this needs to be a conversation that brings in people from across society.

Similarly, the conversations happening around the economy and jobs need to build on the expertise and even the perspective that people creating AI now have. So what we’re hoping to do is contribute to the broader conversations that we think need to take place.

The rise of the digital assistant predicted in ‘Iron Man’ movie:

For us, it’s of obvious importance just in the sense that we are one of the three or four or five companies that I think most people would say are among the most advanced in creating AI technology. In addition, I think we have if not a completely unique, a somewhat differentiated approach to the creation of AI. We’re not trying to build AI as a black box solution that everybody buys completely from us. We’re not trying to bill it as some consulting service that people buy from us.

As we said quite explicitly, we’re seeking to democratize AI, meaning we’re taking the very AI building blocks and making them available for others to use. But just as that empowers many people, it also means that these ethical issues need to be thought about much more broadly as a result.

Feloni: Taking a look at this notion of democratizing AI, sharing responsibility, taking a look at the ethical side of things — how does that affect competition? What about in terms of how your competitors see things? And how willing are you to kind of share some proprietary research that you’ve gathered?

Smith: Well, Harry can speak to this. There’s probably no company that shares more research than Microsoft. Because at Microsoft Research, people publish.

Harry Shum: We created Microsoft Research 26 years ago, under Bill Gates. At that time, he already imagined that in the future, we’d have computers that can see, hear, listen, talk, and understand like human beings.

We actually have the philosophy that for pretty much everything we do for research, we publish. Therefore we share it with the community, with academia and the industry. I think there is no exception when it comes to AI.

Feloni: This is beneficial to business, as well?

Smith: It’s totally fair to say if our business is going to succeed, it’s going to because customers across the economy, both in the public and private sectors, move forward with the development of AI projects, systems, and services. And we want people to go forward in ways that are well informed, that are thoughtful, and in a sense, a commitment to shared responsibility. It is going to take a broad commitment to shared responsibility in order to ensure that AI is used well.

Feloni: You start off the book from a consumer’s perspective, where it seems like the description of Cortana is a little bit like Jarvis in “Iron Man,” a personal assistant for everything. What can someone expect 20 years from now in terms of a daily experience with AI?

Shum: I think predicting the future is always hard, but one thing Brad and I firmly believe is that the ultimate form of AI is a digital assistant —a digital assistant that really understands you, and with your permission knows everything about you.

Internally we use the words “alter ego” — really a second self. I think that a lot of AI capabilities will be developed in 20 years. There’s already so much progress with reading and writing, and things like guiding people through solving math equations, and AI will be able to help us do a lot more. read the rest here.
