But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! (Galatians 1:8)

QUESTION:   In our discussion group, a question about Galatians 3:26-27 came up. The question was “to what baptism is this making reference? Some say it is referring to water baptism, some thought it could be a spiritual baptism equivalent to “baptism of the Holy Spirit”. Thanks for your thoughts on this.

ANSWER:   Here’s what Galatians 3:26-27 says. You are all children of God through faith in Jesus Christ, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

The phrase translated “baptized into Christ” signifies the remission or washing away of sins. There is disagreement among scholars as to whether an actual immersion in water is necessary to be “baptized into Christ.” The clearest scriptures on this matter tell us believing that Jesus died for our sins and rose again is all that’s necessary to be included in Christ (John 5:24, John 6:28-29, Romans 10:9 Ephesians 1:13-14, etc.). After all, our sins are not “washed away” by the water. We are cleansed of all our sins by the shed blood of Jesus the moment we believe He died for us personally. Water baptism is a public ritual that demonstrates a private decision to be born again. Without that decision the public ritual is meaningless.

Paul said, ‘For Christ did not send me to baptize people but to preach the Gospel (1 Cor. 1:17). But if he was referring to an actual baptism in Galatians 3:26-27 it would have to be the water baptism because he never spoke of any other kind.

QUESTION:   If Adam and Eve and Satan were created perfect but still rebelled and disobeyed God what is to say Christians in heaven won’t eventually rebel or think an evil thought and get kicked out? Thanks for all you do I really enjoy your site!

ANSWER:   In nine places the New Testament says that whoever believes in Jesus will have eternal life. One of them is John 3:16. To me, that means when we get to heaven we’ll stay there forever. There’s nothing in the Bible to indicate we’ll ever lose this privilege; not while we’re still on Earth and certainly not after we get to Heaven.

1Th. 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; THEN SUDDEN DESTRUCTION COMETH UPON THEM, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape

WEBPAGE ADMINISTRATOR: In my opinion, (Backed up by Biblical fact i.e. Ezekiel 38) This coalition will be Managed by Russia, it is called the Gog of Magog War.

On Dec. 12, 2017, ahead of the summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul,  the Turkish daily Yeni Şafak, which is close to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his ruling AKP party, published an article titled “A Call for Urgent Action,” which also appeared on the paper’s website under the title “What If an Army of Islam Was Formed Against Israel?”

The article called on the 57 member states of the OIC to form a joint “Army of Islam” to besiege and attack the state of Israel. It notes that such a joint army will greatly exceed the Israeli army in manpower, equipment and budget, and presents statistics to prove this. It also advocates establishing joint bases for the army’s ground, air and naval forces that will arrive from all over the Muslim world to besiege Israel, while noting that Pakistan, as the only nuclear country, has “a special status” among the OIC countries.

An interactive map provides information on military forces stationed in various locations and the role they can play in the potential joint Muslim attack on Israel.

The main points of the article are taken from the website of the Turkish SADAT International Defense and Consulting Company, which provides consultancy on defense and warfare, both conventional and unconventional, and on military organization, training and gear.

The company has an agenda of promoting pan-Islamic military cooperation. According to its mission statement, it seeks “to establish defense collaboration and defense industry cooperation among Islamic countries, to help the Islamic world take its rightful place among the superpowers by providing… strategic consultancy and training services to the militaries and homeland security forces of Islamic countries.”

According to Israeli security sources, the SADAT company is involved in aiding Hamas, and seeks to assist – with funds and military gear – the creation of a “Palestine Army” to fight Israel.

SADAT Founder Adnan Tanrıverdi

The SADAT company was founded by Erdoğan’s senior advisor on military affairs, retired general Adnan Tanrıverdi, and is chaired by his son, Melih Tanrıverdi. Adnan Tanrıverdi (b. 1944) served in the Turkish army’s Artillery Corps and headed the Home Front Command in northern Cyprus.

He is an expert on asymmetric warfare, and was dismissed from the Turkish military in 1996 for his Islamists leadings. A former Turkish army officer, Ahmet Yavuz, described him as “an enemy of Atatürk” and stated that his dismissal from the army was not surprising.

The Yeni Şafak article is based on a PDF booklet featuring a number of articles by Tanrıverdi, as well as other materials, that appeared on the homepage of SADAT’s website and has since been removed. Some of the articles are virulently anti-Israel and promote the goal of arming the Palestinians and forming an Army of Islam to eliminate Israel.

Tanrıverdi Associate Arrested In Israel On Suspicion Of Aiding Hamas

Recently, Israel became aware of Tanrıverdi’s activities after it arrested a Turkish academic, Cemil Tekeli, on suspicion of aiding Hamas terrorists in Turkey. According to the Israeli paper Makor Rishon, Tekeli, who has since been deported to Turkey, is a close associate of Adnan Tanrıverdi.

The following are excerpts from the Yeni Şafak article:

“What If An Army Of Islam Was Formed Against Israel?

“If the OIC member states unite and form a joint military force, it will be the largest army in the world. These countries’ total population is 1,674,526,931. The number of soldiers in active service in these countries is at least 5,206,100. Their overall military defense budget, of $174,728,420, is also worthy of emphasis.

“Half Of Istanbul”

“As for Israel, it is significantly inferior. The population of this country, which attempted to occupy Jerusalem while surrounded by Muslim states, is 8,049,314. Note that the population of Istanbul alone exceeds 14 million. The number of soldiers in active service in the Israeli occupation forces is 160,000, and Israel’s defense budget is approximately $15,600,000,000.

“Islamic Countries Will Lay Siege To Israel

“Among the decisions that can be taken at the OIC summit is to form a ‘Jerusalem Task Group.’ In this framework, military steps are likely to be taken. The Muslim armies, ranging from Africa to Asia, surpass the Israeli army in might. So if an Islamic army is formed, Israel will be under a siege.

“At The First Stage: 250 Thousand Soldiers”

“In a possible military operation, the first step is expected to involve 250,000 soldiers, and the establishment of joint land, air and naval bases for use in the short term.

“500 tanks and armored vehicles, 100 war planes, 500 attack helicopters and 50 warships and submarines can be mobilized.

“Military Bases Close to Israel Available For Immediate Action

“The war planes that will be dispatched to the region from greater distances will be stationed in airbases closer to Israel. Israel will most likely to be besieged by the naval fleets that will be sent to the Mediterranean and the Red Sea.

“The Necessary Equipment Exists”

“The military capability of the OIC member states is considerable. These armies have the necessary equipment to carry out a military operation on land, sea and air.

“Even Turkey Alone Is Superior To Israel”

“Turkey will serve as an important headquarters during the operation, due to its land, air and naval infrastructures. The Turkish army, which carried out ‘Operation Euphrates Shield’ in Syria in 2017 with great success, is now ranked the world’s seventh strongest army, and the second largest army among the NATO powers. Turkey has approximately 4,000 tanks and 1,000 war planes and other aircraft. Its navy made significant progress during the last years, with 194 vessels at its disposal.

“As the only country which possesses nuclear weapons, Pakistan has an important status among the 57 Muslim OIC countries…

“Those who believe that they are the owners of Jerusalem today will not find a single tree to hide behind tomorrow”

“Asia’s Military Defiance”

“In a statement, Malaysian Defense Minister [Hishammuddin] Hussein described Trump’s recognition [of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital] as a blow to Muslims, and added: ‘The Malaysian armed forces are ready to fulfill their duty regarding Jerusalem.’

“Turkey Is Forming Alliances”

“In recent years, Turkey has launched a series of collaborations with OIC member states. The joint military drill with our Iraqi neighbors conveyed a clear message to the terrorists, and Turkey is also engaging in new collaborations with Qatar, Somalia and other Gulf and African countries.

In this context it should be underlined that Turkey is taking steps to realize the model of the ‘Army of Islam,’ forging alliances with many Muslim countries to increase its military mobility.”

The website Memri, known for monitoring and translating the Middle East, has uncovered a doozy for us in recent days and it goes right along with what we’ve been saying about Erdogan’s plans to resurrect the fatally wounded head of the Ottoman Empire.

First allow me to set the scene.

On December 6, as you well know, Trump changed US policy recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and set in motion a plan to move our embassy there from Tel Aviv. That brought about outrage and protests in the Middle East – some violent – and condemnations from all over Muslim world of Trump’s decision. Even the UN tried unsuccessfully to get Trump to undo his decision.

Then Erdogan steps up and takes charge of this issue on behalf of the Muslim world, making ominous threats against Israel that sound akin to invasion while leading the OIC to recognize East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.

That’s the backdrop.

Six days after Trump made this recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, one of the top news websites in Turkey ran an article entitled “What If an Army of Islam Was Formed against Israel?” They ran it on both their newspaper (below) and on their website.

Translated: A Call for Urgent Action for Jerusalem

Full stop.

This is exactly what the Bible predicts will happen in the last days, as we’ve explained at some length in our Bible Prophecy Primer. Ezekiel 38 specifically explains how Turkey, partnered with Iran and many other Muslim nations will invade Jerusalem. Zechariah 14 talks about how the nations with gather against Jerusalem in the last days and that the city shall be taken and half of the city exiled to other countries. And on and on we could go.

Now before we get to the nitty gritty details of this Yeni Safak article, you need to first know something about the source of the material Yeni Safak used. This is where some excellent research from Memri comes in to play. They explain that the source of this material is from an organization called SADAT:

Here’s how Michael Rubin with AEI describes SADAT:

…SADAT, a private paramilitary group which emerged from the shadows on the evening of the coup: Eyewitnesses say SADAT members fired into crowds and Turkish military officers suspect SADAT snipers to be responsible for at least some of the casualties that occurred on the trans-Bosporus bridge.

Adnan Tanriverdi, a former general dismissed for his Islamist leanings after the 1997 coup, founded SADAT in 2012. After the coup, Erdogan brought Tanriverdi into his office as chief military counselor. Thanks to a rule change made at Erdogan’s direction, many Islamists dismissed from the military who found refuge in SADAT subsequently re-joined the military with retroactive credit for promotions they did not receive in the military because of early termination.

…SADAT appears increasingly to act as Erdogan’s personal militia or a Turkish equivalent of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

The “Turkish equivalent of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.” Also Adnan Tanriverdi is pictured above in the center.

Memri explains that the information used in the Yeni Safak article was taken from a PDF that no longer exists on the SADAT website. But Memri has it available upon request.

By Michael Oren –

While Israel is mired in domestic scandals and coalition crises, the greatest threat the country has known since the eve of the Yom Kippur War—perhaps since the War for Independence—is steadily taking shape.

This menace, posed of course by Iran, essentially consists of a wide range of growing threats closing in on us. The Iranians, who invented the game of chess, are exceedingly adept at playing several boards simultaneously, with the winner’s prize no less than control of the entire Middle East and beyond.

The bottom chessboard is regional. The Iranians cunningly took a step back and allowed the superpowers to destroy their main enemies in the region. The Americans weakened the Taliban and eliminated Saddam Hussein, and, along with Russia, they annihilated the Islamic State group.

The Iranians also helped Shiite militias exhaust and chase American forces from Iraq. The resulting vacuum in Iraq and Syria was filled by the Iranians and their proxies.

Today, Iran is penetrating deeper across the Middle East and is guiding the Shiite majorities in eastern Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. It has also established a foothold among the Houthis rebels in Yemen. Just several days ago, Bahraini forces thwarted a coup attempt orchestrated by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

At the same time, the Iranians have forged unprecedentedly strong alliances with Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Together with their complete control over Lebanon, the Iranians have laid siege to virtually the entire Middle East.

The upper chessboard is the international sphere, where the Iranians have secured a nuclear deal. This achievement grants them all the advantages of military nuclear capabilities without the costs. While Iran doesn’t have to fear a military strike on its nuclear facilities, sanctions relief and lucrative business deals have provided the immense funds it uses to realize its regional aspirations.

In around 10 years, when the nuclear deal expires, no country will step in to stop Iran if it continues developing nuclear weapons, for fear of squandering its vast investments in the Islamic republic.

In the meantime, the Iranians have displayed an incredible capacity to maneuver between Western powers. Thus, for example, during Tehran’s rapprochement with Washington under the Obama administration, it also struck a tangible military alliance with Russia, which helped it restore its status as a player in the Middle East. This dexterity is particularly discernible on the main chessboard: Syria.

Influence in Syria, which links Tehran to Beirut; and Damascus to Iraq and the Persian Gulf, is a preeminent Iranian interest. In Syria of all places, however, Iran’s status is questionable due to the lack of a Shiite population there. Therefore, it is working to cleanse Syria of its Sunni majority and bolster the Alawites, who are essentially an offshoot of Shiite Islam, and their regime.

To replace the banished or killed Sunnis, Iran is importing Shiites from across the Middle East from as far as Pakistan and Afghanistan. To this end, the Iranians enlisted Moscow’s help and in return agreed to Russia’s continued presence in the war-torn country.

Through their extensive economic ties with Iran, meanwhile, the Europeans are funding the ethnic cleansing of Syria and inducing the tsunami of refugees reaching their shores. All Iran has to do now is establish a military foothold in Syria to overcome the last obstacle on its path to regional hegemony: Israel.

Iran wants to force Israel into a state of perpetual check; in other words, paralysis before death. Surrounded by tens of thousands of missiles held by Hamas and Hezbollah, and in range of the Iranian army’s long-range missiles, Israel will struggle to impede Iran from entrenching itself in Syria. When this undertaking culminates, the Iranians will be able to take the Israeli “king” and declare checkmate.

This can be prevented. The Israeli government has thus far set clear red lines prohibiting the Iranians from building missile bases and ports in Syria, and from transferring sophisticated weaponry to Hezbollah. These red lines must be stringently enforced, but international support must also be enlisted.

Israel has to develop a diplomatic and legal “iron dome” capable of defending us if Israel Defense Forces’s soldiers are forced to enter Hezbollah’s strongholds in southern Lebanon.

The Iranians might be experts at chess, but rest assured, Israel has champions of its own.

Did you ever wake up and look at the latest news and find yourself wondering, “Has the whole world gone mad?”

It takes a lot to get me to that point. I see a lot of strange stuff here on the front lines of the culture wars. But every so often the accumulation of crazy stories strikes a nerve, making me ask myself, “Have we totally lost our minds?”

It started again for me a few days back when I saw this now infamous tweet from a Planned Parenthood affiliate in Kentucky, declaring, “Some men have a uterus.”

And in case you didn’t get their point, they repeated it 11 times. (Count them for yourself.)

Support Abortion Providers:

Some men have a uterus.

Some men have a uterus.

Some men have a uterus.

Some men have a uterus.

Some men have a uterus.

Some men have a uterus.

Some men have a uterus.

Some men have a uterus.

Some men have a uterus.

Some men have a uterus.

Some men have a uterus.

What on earth were they saying? Simply that there are biological females who now identify as men, because of which “some men have a uterus.”

This would be in keeping with the push to include tampons in men’s bathrooms on college campuses, since “some men menstruate.” What insanity!

Transgender Teaching by the Church of Scotland

If your head is still spinning, consider this headline: “Church of Scotland creates pamphlet to help churches teach transgenderism: ‘Some men have vaginas.’” (No, this is not from a satire website. This is a real story about – gasp – the Church of Scotland.)

Now, just these stories alone would be enough to make one think that the whole world went crazy overnight, but these were just some of the stories that came to my attention in a matter of minutes (with some following a few days later).

Over on our YouTube channel, someone named Jesus Ruiz took exception to my video asking the question, “Should Drag Queens Be Reading to Your Toddlers in Libraries?”

He wrote,

I’m a devoted Christian, I read God’s word. I see no problem with a drag queen reading to a toddler? When did God ever say someone in a costume is a threat? I think we should focus on bigger issues. If the Lord is my Shepard I’m pretty sure he’s not leading me towards ignorance and hate? Patience and Love is the shop I’m on. Won’t you join me?

Yes, you read that correctly. A “devoted Christian” has no problem with drag queens reading stories to toddlers. And if you have a problem with it, it’s because of “ignorance and hate.”

Did I say yet that I’m not making this up? That this was not all part of a bad dream?

Banning ‘Transphobic Feminist Speakers’

Back in the U.K., another headline declared, “University of Bristol students vote to ban ‘transphobic feminist speakers.’”

University of Bristol students have voted to no platform trans exclusionary radical feminists (TERFs) from speaking on campus.

TERF is an acronym for Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist, who claim that trans women are not women and argue that they have male privilege.

So, famous feminists like Germaine Greer and Linda Bellos would likely be banned from campus for being “trans exclusionary.”

How dare they argue that a biological male who later “transitions” to female is not a real female, or, at the least, cannot relate to the lifelong experiences of a female? What a bigoted transphobic point of view! And it is other feminists who are pushing the ban.

I can only shake my head in amazement as the radical left continues to devour itself. Yet there’s more still more evidence that the world has gone looney.

Decrying Campaigns Against Obesity

Also from the U.K. comes this shocking headline: “Award-winning comedian accuses Cancer Research of ‘fat-shaming’ for launching campaign against obesity.”

According to the story,

Sofie Hagen, a Danish-born comedian who has lived in the UK since 2012 and appeared on the BBC multiple times, tweeted a picture of the poster, which spells out “OBESITY” with some missing letters, and asks readers to guess what the biggest cause of cancer is, after smoking.

But Hagen is not alone. Others style themselves “body liberation activists,” proclaiming that “all bodies are good bodies” and speaking out against “fat phobia” while championing “fat liberation.” (To repeat: I’m not making any of this up.)

It’s one thing to shame and belittle people for being overweight. It’s another thing to deny the health risks of obesity and to criticize those like Cancer Research in their efforts to save lives.

Really now, have we not lost our minds? For good reason another journalist tweeted,

Speech is violence. Moderation is extremism. Fascism is antifascism. Racism is social justice.

Welcome to 2018: where the truth is dead and words mean whatever you want them to.

Shootings at Funerals

Yet there’s more, and this from a totally different front, in a headline from the city of Chicago: “Proposed task force aims to curb shootings at funerals.”

This tragic story notes that, “Funeral services are supposed to be sacred. But it seems nothing will prevent gangs from opening fire on one another.

“Now, the Cook County sheriff is trying to stop violence from erupting in the middle of cemeteries.” (Stop for a moment and read that line again out loud. Oh my.)

“Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart convened a meeting Thursday of political, religious and funeral industry leaders to talk about the growing violence surrounding the funerals and processions of Chicago gang members.”

A World Unhinged is Nothing New

No doubt about it. The world around has gone totally crazy.

But before you lose your mind too, allow me to give you a helpful perspective. Since the day Adam and Eve sinned in the garden, the world has been going crazy, to the point that their first son, Cain, murdered their second son, Abel. That’s crazy.

And it’s not just America that’s unhinged, but every nation on the planet, to one degree or another. In fact, one of our good friends, a missionary serving the poorest of the poor in Nigeria, sends me regular updates of the madness that surrounds her there.

She closes her email with two words, which I will repeat here, pointing to the sole hope of our planet: “Only Jesus.”

To say it again: Only Jesus.
