We must face the facts and realise that all of us have friends and family members that are going to miss the rapture. In our video, “The Rapture and the Thief in the Night,” we give a step by step explanation of what has happened, why it happened, what to expect next, and what they must do and what they must not do!
Prayerfully our friends and family members will watch this DVD before the Rapture and not miss it, but some will certainly be Left Behind! Every believer needs to watch this video and share it with their unsaved friends, and family members.
This video explains why the Rapture is the Blessed Hope of every believer and how this event is different from the Second Coming. It also explains what a person is to do if they miss the Rapture, and the events of the Tribulation, the Antichrist and the Mark of the Beast. It is an excellent witnessing tool that will prayerfully keep many from missing the Rapture, at the same time it’s also, a valuable guide for those Left Behind.
All the signs of the last days are converging at the same time. Bible Prophecy is happening right before our eyes and like birth pains, the predicted events are happening more frequently and more intently. Never, in the history throughout the world have so many forces, including economic, scientific, techno-logic, ecologic, cultural, geopolitical, moral, spiritual and religion, converged together to bring this world that’s already teetering over the edge into the abyss, to a point of no return. Jesus said when you see all these signs happening, know that I am near, even at the door.
DANIEL’S 70TH WEEK AND REVELATION. SAME OR DIFFERENT?
QUESTION: I was just wondering what biblical evidence (implicit or explicit) there is that the different events in Revelation will actually happen during the 70th week of Daniel. Are there any measurements of time stated in Revelation that state how long the judgements will last? Why do the judgements have to happen in the 70th week? Am I missing something?
ANSWER: As you know, there’s a seven-year period missing from the end of Daniel’s 70 weeks. From Daniel 9:27 we learn this period will commence with a covenant that results in a rebuilt Temple and includes the official introduction of the anti-Christ, the desecration of the Temple, and the destiny that is decreed for the anti-Christ.
From Revelation 6 we learn that there will be an end times leader who will come in the name of peace but whose real intent is war. In Rev. 11 we see a working temple in Israel before the beginning of the Great Tribulation that isn’t there now. It’s outer courts and the Holy City will be trampled on by the Gentiles for 42 months.
Daniel 9:27 says the temple will be desecrated by an abomination that causes desolation in the middle of the last seven years. Jesus said this event will mark the beginning of the Great Tribulation (Matt. 24:15-21).
In Rev. 12 we see a dragon representing Satan pursuing a woman representing Israel who flees into the desert for protection. There God will protect her for 1260 days, which is the same length of time as 42 months. Jesus also said the woman’s flight would happen at the outset of the Great Tribulation (Matt. 24:15-21).
Rev. 13 begins with the introduction of the anti-Christ in his final form, being empowered by Satan (Rev. 13:4). Rev. 19:19-20 shows the Lord coming to defeat His enemies and the final disposition of the anti-Christ. This is the destiny decreed for him spoken of in Daniel 9:27. Rev. 20 marks the beginning of the Millennium.
From this, we can surmise that the period described from Rev. 6 thru Rev. 19 is the missing seven years from Daniel’s prophecy. During this time there will be three known cycles of judgment and perhaps one unknown cycle (Rev. 10:3-4). Of these, only the third known cycle will occur during the last three and one-half years following the anti-Christ’s introduction. The others will take place during the first three and one-half years, but the duration of each is not revealed.
THE HOLY SPIRIT IN DANIEL’S 70TH WEEK
QUESTION: I have looked up several translations and versions of 2 Thessalonians 2:7. Some refer to the person as he and some as He. I guess regardless whether he be the church or the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit will be out of the way. My question is where will the Holy Spirit be during this time? And will He return during the Millennium to convict men’s hearts again?
ANSWER: Don’t let the lack of capitalisation fool you. Some translations don’t capitalise pronouns that refer to the God head. The Holy Spirit is the restrainer. During the Church Age He’s been sealed within us to guarantee our inheritance. After we receive it (following the rapture) He will no longer be needed as a guarantor. During Daniel’s 70th week the Holy Spirit will resume His Old Testament style ministry on Earth. During that time He was with believers and periodically came upon them, but was never sealed within them. I imagine it will be much the same during the Millennium.
WHEN DOES THE 70TH WEEK BEGIN?
QUESTION: Does the “signing” of the covenant kick start the 70th week of Daniel or is it the day it goes into effect? Lets say, the Anti-Christ signs the treaty on October 13, but it doesn’t go into effect until December 31, which day actually starts the 70th week? Is it the day it is signed or the day it goes into effect?
ANSWER: The Hebrew word in Daniel 9:27 that activates the covenant is usually translated “strengthen” or “confirm”. Therefore scholars believe it won’t necessarily be the signing date that makes it effective, but the fact that the anti-Christ has begun to enforce it. For this reason the world may not know the time of the official beginning of the 70th week until after the fact.
This could be why the kings of the Earth will say, “The great day of their wrath has come and who can stand?” (Rev. 6:17). That question is in the past perfect tense, meaning the wrath has already begun. It might take until the great earthquake of the 6th seal that turns the sun black and the moon blood red occurs for them to realize the time of wrath has already begun.
IS DANIEL’S 70TH WEEK ABOUT TO START?
QUESTION: What are you making of the Pontiff’s visit to Israel? Is it pointing to Dan 9:27?
“He will confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the middle of the week he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him”
If a 7 year peace agreement is signed at the Vatican next month has the prophetic clock gone into overdrive ie is it the start of the tribulation?
ANSWER: In my opinion any agreement proposed by the Pope and agreed to by both Israel and the Palestinians will not be a fulfillment of Daniel 9:27. There are several events in the end times prophetic scenario that have to happen before Daniel’s 70th Week can begin. Chief among these is Israel’s return to their long ago abandoned covenant with God.
If a peace agreement does come through the offices of the Pope, I believe it will more likely be a false peace that sets Israel up for the sneak attack coming from a greater Muslim coalition described in Ezekiel 38-39. Ezekiel 39:22 tells us that’s the event that will persuade Israel to re-instate their covenant with God, allowing the 70th Week to begin.
BETWEEN THE RAPTURE AND DANIEL’S 70TH WEEK
QUESTION: A well known author recently wrote that “The one factor that is a big unknown is the amount of time that will elapse between the Rapture of the church and the signing of the covenant that will initiate the seven years of Tribulation.” To help me, can I just clarify your understanding of the Pre-Trib position on this matter? Surely the Rapture immediately triggers the Tribulation or have I misunderstood?
ANSWER: I first heard this idea 20 years ago as an off hand comment by a teacher who was trying to show that the rapture of the Church is not connected to any other end times events. By now it has been repeated often enough that some people think it’s a valid assumption. I disagree.
In fact, so much time has passed since this comment was first made that I don’t believe there is any “dead time” left in the fulfillment of end times prophecies. I think once they begin, the events remaining to be fulfilled will pretty much happen in rapid fire order.
Remember, Jesus said many from the generation being born when the first end times signs were fulfilled will still be alive at the 2nd coming (Matt. 24:34). The clock started ticking in 1948 when Israel reappeared on the world stage after a 1900 year absence.
A GAP BETWEEN THE RAPTURE AND THE 70TH WEEK?
QUESTION: My question is why you don’t write about the gap between the Rapture and the start of they 7 year Tribulation Period taking into consideration Psalm 83 and Obadiah, Verse 18? (maybe you have and I didn’t see it) I firmly believe that Israel will destroy the Arab countries surrounding Israel (perhaps before or shortly after the Rapture); therefore, why aren’t those same Arab nations mentioned in Psalm 83 mentioned in the Magog War of Ezekiel 38 and 39? They aren’t.
It appears that Israel will expand its borders upon destroying these Arab nations surrounding them, and in doing so, will gain security and have no walled villages. Geographically speaking, Israel today has no security and no unwalled villages. That is very obvious! Therefore, the Magog War won’t occur until later, and prior to the middle of the Tribulation.
Another point that I wish to comment on is that after the Magog War it will take Israel 7 years to burn the enemies weapons – and we know that 2/3 of Israelis will die and the 1/3 remnant will flee perhaps to the Red Rose city of Petra in Jordan. Therefore, it would appear that if Israel is going to burn their enemies weapons for 7 years, then it would have to be prior to the middle of the Tribulation Period. They have to be there in Israel to carry that burning of weapons out. Thus the gap would have to be at least 3 ½ yrs and longer.
ANSWER: I don’t write about a gap between the Rapture and the beginning of the 70th week because it can’t be verified. We don’t know the date of either. You’re stating your opinions about how things will happen, which is OK, but they can’t be confirmed in Scripture. I do believe Israel’s neighbours will be neutralised before the Battle of Ezekiel 38 because nothing else explains their absence .
As for 2/3 of the Israelite’s dying and the remaining third fleeing to Petra, that’s an interpretation of Zechariah 13:8-9 I happen to disagree with. It says the Lord will bring the remaining third into the fire (Great Tribulation), but Rev. 12:14 says the believing remnant will flee to Petra to be protected from the fire. The rest of the Jews in Israel will stay put and they’re the ones who use the weapons for fuel.
In your scenario the whole country would be abandoned to the anti-Christ and his followers, Satan could capture the Promised land without a fight, and there would be no need for for the world to come to arms against Jerusalem.
My view of Zechariah 13:8-9 is that it was fulfilled in WW2 when 2/3 of the 9 million Jews in the world at the time were exterminated. The remaining third caused the re-birth of the nation in 1948 and they and their children will be refined in the soon coming Great Tribulation.
A GAP BETWEEN THE RAPTURE AND THE 70TH WEEK?- (CONTINUED)
QUESTION: If there is a sizable gap between the rapture and start of 70th week, as some think may be the case, who will carry on the work of. the church after it’s gone? That being missions, evangelism etc? Will there be a pause of present evangelistic movement till 144,000 Jewish evangelicals come on scene later on – or what?
ANSWER: I first heard this idea 20 years ago as an off hand comment by a well known teacher who was trying to show that the rapture of the church is not connected to any other end times events.
