Current Events Linked To Biblical Prophecies…2018 Tensions are Mounting Between Russia and Israel. Is Isaiah 17 and Ezekiel 38 & 39 about to be fulfilled? Ezekiel 38:1-6 1 Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 2 “Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him, 3 and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal. 4 I will turn you around, put hooks into your jaws, and lead you out, with all your army, horses, and horsemen, all splendidly clothed, a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords. 5 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya are with them, all of them with shield and helmet; 6 Gomer and all its troops; the house of Togarmah from the far north and all its troops—many people are with you.

PATHWAY TO THE BEAST? MACRON PUSHES 10-NATION EUROPEAN ARMY

Read more at http://prophecynewswatch.com/article.cfm?recent_news_id=2729#jDuhkdUsMeeP4gcR.99
France’s Emmanuel Macron has called for a “real European army” to reduce dependence on the United States and suggested such a coalition of European nations could help deter the growing surge of nationalism in some countries.
The coalition of 10 European nations ready to react to crises near the continent’s borders was launched last week with Germany, Belgium, Britain, Denmark, Estonia, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and Finland joining the French-led initiative.
“In an environment where threats and upheavals of a geopolitical or climatic nature are multiplying, the initiative must send the message that Europe is ready, that Europe is capable,” a French Defense Ministry official said.
President Trump has already criticized the plan on Twitter saying,  “President Macron of France has just suggested that Europe build its own military in order to protect itself from the U.S., China and Russia. Very insulting, but perhaps Europe should first pay its fair share of NATO, which the U.S. subsidizes greatly!”.
Macron’s push for European military independence; however,  is not new.  The President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, has previously cited President Trump’s pledge to demand other NATO allies to pay their fair share and his isolationist policies as a reason to rebuild Europe’s defensive capabilities.
The EU’s top diplomat has even suggested Europe transform itself into what he called a “superpower” that could act as a “global security power”. He went on to say, “the Americans, to whom we owe much … will not ensure the security of the Europeans in the long term. We have to do this ourselves….a joint EU army would show the world that there would never again be a war between EU countries”
German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen has also previously presented a plan to build a EU army. Last year she published a piece in the German media in which she laid out her arguments for forming a European army in response to the new course that she believes both Brexit and the US election have set.
With such a plan come more questions than answers at this time. How can the EU hope to speak with one voice due to different approaches, priorities and security interests, which include the fear of a diminished NATO role, among other reasons. The top concern seems to remain the loss of national sovereignty as currently exercised by each EU country over its respective armies.
Past suggestions for a EU army have indicated all member states would have to reach an agreement by unanimity, or a decision would have to be made by a qualified majority vote; a long decision process could end up weakening a common EU force and limiting its effectiveness.  It remains unclear what final form this army will take and just how integrated such an army would be – although most politicians have indicated they have no desire to see it supersede NATO.
The idea of an EU army idea has been around since the days of Churchill and seems to be revived every decade.  While most attempts have failed there are some followers of Bible Prophecy who see the potential for a future 10 nation alliance out of Europe to fulfill the prophecies of the Book of Daniel & Revelation in which a 10 nation alliance from Europe becomes the seat of  power for the Antichrist on his way to global domination.
Some have speculated about whether these prophecies refer to 10 nations, 10 world regions, or simply 10 leaders. When the European Union first emerged and eventually grew to 10 member nations, prophecy students were sitting up and taking notice, until the EU grew past 10 nations (current EU members total 28 nations). Then the excitement died down considerably.
Now with talk of a charismatic European leader uniting 10-nations in military co-operation, people are starting to pay attention again.  Especially as it coincides with so many other important prophetic events happening such as Israel’s 70th anniversary, the players for Ezekiel 38 all in alignment, the advancement of micro-chipping and other end times technology and the potential for Trumps “deal of the century” peace plan to transform the region.  Is it possible this new EU army will act as an enforcer of the Trump plan to be a neutral party guarantor to the agreement?
There are more questions and speculation than anything else at this point regarding the future of this new force but with so many prophetic events converging at this time it is time to be paying attention more now than ever before.

The senior Hamas militant targeted was named as the Khan Younis commander Sheikh Nur Barakeh who was reported to be involved with Hamas’s tunnel program. Israeli aircraft which reportedly accompanied the troops were said to have fired some 20 missiles towards the area, killing at least five Palestinians. “We have five martyrs and a number of wounded people due to an ongoing Israeli bombardment of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip,” the Palestinian Red Crescent said in a statement.
At least six Palestinians were killed, including a top Hamas commander late Sunday night during clashes between terrorists and IDF soldiers in the Gaza Strip.
Israel moved another step closer to all-out war with Hamas today as a violent exchange between the IDF and the Hamas terrorists resulted in the death of one of their top terror dispensers, and 5 other soldiers.
Things heated up so strongly that Prime Minister Netanyahu, in Paris for a meeting of world leaders in Paris, was forced to get on a plane and return to Israel immediately to oversee the situation. That should show how just how serious this clash really is.

TOP HAMAS TERRORIST KILLED AFTER FIERCE CLASHES WITH IDF IN GAZA

FROM THE JERUSALEM POST: Dispelling rumors, the IDF said that none of its troops were kidnapped by Hamas.
“Contrary to reports, none of our soldiers were abducted during the operational activity that took place in Gaza,” the Israeli army said in a statement, confirming that all IDF troops returned to Israeli territory.
According to local reports a firefight broke out Palestinian militants and an elite IDF force in Khan Younis.  The report said that troops were exposed after firing at senior militant in Hamas’ military wing, the Izzedine al-Qassem Brigades, from a passing car, leading to the firefight to break out.

A statement released by Hamas’s Izzedine al-Qassam Brigades said that a  “special force of the Zionist enemy infiltrated this evening in a civilian car 3 kilometers east of Khan Younis. The force assassinated the commander of our forces. The withdrawal of the enemy led to the martyrdom of a number of people.”

NETANYAHU: NO DIPLOMATIC SOLUTION FOR GAZA

http://prophecyupdate.blogspot.com/
NETANYAHU: THERE IS NO DIPLOMATIC SOLUTION FOR GAZA
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday said Israel was doing its utmost to prevent “unnecessary wars” with the Gaza Strip, but maintained that diplomacy was futile with the Hamas leaders of the Palestinian enclave, even amid an international effort to broker a calm in the restive area.
At a press conference in Paris, where the prime minister had attended the 100th anniversary commemorations of the end of World War I along with other world leaders, Netanyahu laid out his security plan for the Gaza Strip — short-term calm, followed by a long-term ceasefire, but no final diplomatic deal with the terrorist group that is the de facto ruler in the beleaguered enclave.
“There is no diplomatic solution for Gaza, just as there is no diplomatic solution for ISIS,” said Netanyahu.
“I am doing everything I can to avoid an unnecessary war,” said the prime minister, pointing to the deaths of millions during the First World War as an example of senseless bloody warfare. “I am not afraid of war if it’s necessary, but I want to avoid it if it’s not necessary.”
The comments came amid a reprieve in violence along the Israel-Gaza border and  intensive internationally brokered negotiations to secure a ceasefire agreement between the Jewish state and Hamas, a terror group sworn to Israel’s destruction..
Weekly Gaza border protests, dubbed the “Great March of Return,” have been going on since March 30 and have mostly involved the burning of tires and rock-throwing along the security fence, but have also seen shooting attacks, bombings and attempted border breaches as well as the sending of incendiary balloons and kites into Israel. Southern Israel has also seen sporadic aggressive rocket bombardments from the Gaza Strip.
Egypt, alongside United Nations special coordinator for the Middle East peace process Nikolay Mladenov, has recently played a key role in attempts to mediate a ceasefire between Israel and the armed groups in the Strip.
Egyptian mediators have been working intensively to maintain calm, and also hope to bring about national reconciliation between the Hamas terror group, which seized Gaza by force in 2007, and the West Bank-based administration of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
After recent violence flared on the border, Netanyahu said Israel’s army was a “step away” from going to war with Gaza — but Hamas quickly changed direction.
“We were a step away from exercising maximal [military] power,” said Netanyahu. “Hamas understood this and wised up.”
The security cabinet has a two-level approach to Gaza, continued Netanyahu, saying it was first seeking to quell the border tensions, followed by a long-term truce. The return of captive Israelis and the bodies of IDF soldiers held by the Gaza terror group would only come in the second stage, he said.
“Will it work?” he said of a ceasefire. “It’s too early to say.”

FRENCH PRESIDENT MACRON WARNS OF THE ‘DANGERS’ OF NATIONALISM, SNUBS U.S. ARMS IN DEFENSE SPAT WITH TRUMP

http://prophecyupdate.blogspot.com/
EMMANUEL MACRON WARNS OF ‘DANGERS’ OF NATIONALISM IN ARMISTICE SPEECH AIMED AT TRUMP AND PUTIN
Emmanuel Macron has issued a hard-hitting warning about the dangers of nationalism and of countries that put their interests before the collective good – in front of Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.
The French president denounced those who evoke nationalist sentiment to disadvantage others, calling it a “betrayal of patriotism” and moral values.
The US and Russian leaders listened in silence as Mr Macron took a swipe at the rising tide of populism in the US and Europe, warning: “The old demons are rising again, ready to complete their task of chaos and of death.”
During a gathering of dozens of world leaders to mark 100 years since the end of the First World War, the French president went on: “Patriotism is the exact opposite of nationalism. Nationalism is a betrayal of patriotism.
“In saying, ‘Our interests first, whatever happens to the others’, you erase the most precious thing a nation can have, that which makes it live, that which causes it to be great and that which is most important: its moral values.”
The US president, who has repeatedly declared himself a nationalist, sat stony-faced.
Mr Trump defended his use of the phrase just last week, saying: “You know what the word is? I love our country. You have nationalists. You have globalists. I also love the world and I don’t mind helping the world, but we have to straighten out our country first. We have a lot of problems.”
More than five dozen heads of state and government had gathered today at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the base of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, a century after guns fell silent in the war that killed millions of people.
In a speech lasting nearly 20 minutes, Mr Macron also called on fellow leaders to fight for peace.
The French leader also defended the European Union and the United Nations, which he said guaranteed peace and enshrined “a spirit of cooperation to defend the common property of a world whose destiny is inextricably linked”.
Macron snubs US arms in defence spat with Trump
http://prophecyupdate.blogspot.com/
Europe should not spend higher defence budgets on US-made weapons, French President Emmanuel Macron said in an interview due to air Sunday, after a defence row with President Donald Trump.
One of dozens of world leaders attending World War I commemorations in France this weekend, Trump tweeted after landing in Paris that Macron’s call for a “real European army” was “insulting”.
In an interview recorded on Saturday with CNN after talks with Trump, Macron said the two leaders had spoken about what his office has portrayed as a misunderstanding.
“We had a regular discussion this morning and he confirmed in front of the press that he was ok,” Macron told CNN.
Both leaders agree there should be “better burden-sharing within NATO”, meaning Europe should be less reliant on US spending for its defence, Macron said.
But Macron told CNN: “To be very direct with you, what I don’t want to see is European countries increasing the budget in defence in order to buy American and other arms or materials coming from your industry.”
Macron had last month criticised Belgium’s decision to buy US-made F-35 fighter jets instead of European planes, saying it “goes against European interests”.
In his CNN interview he stressed the need for Europe to take charge of its defence.
Whereas “after the Second World War we needed the US to be present for our security, I think now the momentum for Europe is to build its own security and its own sovereignty,” he said.
He refrained from commenting on Trump’s “insult” tweet, beyond saying, “I always prefer having direct discussions or answering questions than making my diplomacy through tweets.”
In a radio interview this week, Macron had named the United States alongside China and Russia as sources of risk.
He said the EU needed to be less dependent on the United States, not least following Trump’s withdrawal from a Cold War-era nuclear treaty.
Trump on Friday called Macron’s comments “very insulting”. The French presidency later sought to defuse the row, saying Macron remarks had been misinterpreted.

IS A NEW WAR BREWING?

http://prophecyupdate.blogspot.com/
ANALYSIS: WHAT WAS THE IDF DOING IN GAZA AND IS A NEW WAR BREWING?
An IDF operation deep inside the Gaza Strip, no matter how covert, carries with it tremendous risk. What exactly happened late Sunday night in southern Gaza is still shrouded in mystery, but from the little detail that the IDF has permitted for publication, it seems that something in the Israeli operation went wrong.
In the days to come, Israel will face a number of challenges. One of the first will be explaining to the world why it sent troops into the Gaza Strip in the first place, especially with a ceasefire seemingly in place with the help of Qatar which Israel permitted last week to transfer $15 million to Hamas.
What was so important that Israel was willing to endanger the ceasefire for it? To answer that question, the IDF will have to provide some details about the operation. Was it carried out to gather intelligence, to kidnap someone, to sabotage something or to assassinate someone? The results of Sunday night’s operation won’t help Israel if the current round of violence escalates into a full-fledged war. Israel will be blamed for sparking the conflict.
The appearance on some of the late-night TV news shows of former IDF general Tal Russo, a past commander of the Southern Command with a particular expertise in commando operations, seemed like an IDF effort to change the narrative. Russo said that the operation seemed to be for the purpose of gathering intelligence, the kind of which, he said, takes place all the time without the public knowing about them.
How this develops will depend to a large extent on Hamas and its response. As of three hours after the botched operation, Hamas was retaliating with rocket fire throughout the South but not farther, meaning that it could potentially decide to contain the incident with the overnight rocket attacks and end it there.
On the other hand, it could decide to continue to escalate the situation. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to cut short his trip to Paris, is an indication that for Israel, anything is possible.
What brought Gaza to a knife edge?
http://prophecyupdate.blogspot.com/
Calm was supposed to prevail in Gaza after Qatar agreed to help civil servants in the Hamas-controlled area. It came after thirty-three weeks of clashes and riots along the border of the Gaza Strip in which more than 200 Palestinians were killed and thousands wounded. It also came after months in which there was rocket fire ever few weeks and where tens of thousands of dunams in the Negev were burned by balloons launched from Gaza. On Sunday a serious and developing incident that was still happening at press time, comes after months of Israel and Hamas squaring off against each other.
The situation has brought Israel and Hamas to the brink of conflict several times. In July, Israel launched the largest air raids since 2014. Waves of rockets also were the largest in years. In October, Islamic Jihad, at the behest of Iran, launched a barrage. Each time Israel was able to thwart the rockets, but it was always only a matter of time before something more serious happened. At each juncture Hamas and Islamic Jihad also sought to test Israel. In July, a soldier was killed by sniper fire. The protesters in Gaza also sought to test the ring of security fences.
The crises in Gaza has been further complicated by the conflict between Hamas and the Palestinian Authority. PA President Mahmoud Abbas has held up negotiations and both Qatar and Egypt have put pressure on the PA to try to break the impasse. Similarly Hamas boasts that it has won the day with Israel, getting the Qatari money. Hamas claimed it was getting help to “break the siege,” in a press release on Saturday. It also blamed the PA for the sanctions it has suffered because the PA has starved it of salaries.
In Israel, the complexities also involve anger about the never ending conflict along the border. Communities have protested in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. They want a solution. They want quiet. And it plays into Israeli politics where there is jockeying to see who is the most “tough” on Gaza. What comes out of all of the debates over the last months is that many people want to talk tough, but no one wants a real conflict. Hamas knows that and also doesn’t want a conflict. Even Iran, which supports Hamas and Islamic Jihad, doesn’t want to see its investment squandered by a real war.
But given all of this tension it is always a situation on a knife edge. One false move and a major conflict could develop. It remains to be seen whether the Qatar transfer will bring calm or whether it was the calm before the storm.

HEAVILY ARMED ISLAMIC TERRORISTS AMBUSH AND MASSACRE CHRISTIANS IN EGYPT

A BLOODBATH FOR CHRISTIANS, NO RESPONSE FROM EGYPT
  • Seven pilgrims were shot to death, “just because they were Christian,” said Pope Francis after the attack.
  • “The pilgrims were killed in such a savage and sadistic way, as if they were enemy combatants, when they were just simple Christians come to get a blessing from a monastery.” — Coptic Bishop Anba Makarios of Minya, Egypt.
  • “The minimum response expected from president El-Sisi is to dismiss the head of State Security and the governor of Minya, as a clear sign of holding officials accountable. Furthermore, given the government’s continued failure to protect the Copts, Coptic Solidarity vigorously calls for an independent inquiry by the UN to evaluate the Copts’ situation and to recommend necessary measures to alleviate their increasingly perilous situation…” — Coptic Solidarity, Washington, DCOn November 2, heavily armed Islamic terrorists ambushed and massacred Christians returning home after visiting the ancient St. Samuel Monastery in Minya, Egypt.
Seven pilgrims—including a 12-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy—were shot to death. More than 20 were left injured with bullet wounds or shards of broken glass from the buses’ windows. “I pray for the victims, pilgrims killed just because they were Christian,” said Pope Francis after the attack.
Pictures posted on social media reveal “bodies soaked in blood and distorted faces of men and women.” In one video posted, a man can be heard crying, “The gunshot got you in the head, my boy!” and repeating, “What a loss!”
After the first and largest bus had passed the ambush point, the terrorists emerged in black 4x4s and opened fire with automatic weapons on the second bus; six pilgrims were injured, including a small child. Fortunately, the bus driver managed to escape and speed away, at which point the terrorists fired on the third and smallest bus as it approached. After the driver was killed, they surrounded the stalled minibus and opened fire on all sides. The bus carried 20 people — 14 adults and six children—all from one extended family who had visited the monastery to baptize two of the children.
The terrorists first opened the hatchback and looked to see who was still alive. They then shot all the men in the head and all the women and children in the ankles or legs.
One of the female survivors who was shot in the legs recalls, in a video, only that an explosion of gunfire suddenly opened on all sides of their bus; by the time she could register what was happening, she saw pieces of her brother-in-law’s brain splattered on her lap.
Another woman, after realizing that her husband and daughter had been killed, begged the jihadis to kill her, too. They said, “No, you stay and suffer over your husband and daughter.” Then they shot her in the ankles so she could not move away.
In a separate report, another survivor said the terrorists told her, “We will kill the men and children and leave you to live the rest of your lives in misery.”
Virtually all of the survivors have “had a nervous breakdown of what they have seen and they are in the hospital.”
Coptic Bishop Anba Makarios of Minya confirmed that “The pilgrims were killed in such a savage and sadistic way, as if they were enemy combatants, when they were just simple Christians come to get a blessing from a monastery.”
Reactions among Egypt’s Christians echoed those from earlier incidents. “Oh God, these children were students in my school!” wept one local teacher. “I can’t imagine they are dead now!”
The day after the attack, the Egyptian government created more questions than answers. It announced that it had killed 19 terrorists believed to be complicit in the November 2 attack. As one report noted:
Another report stated that government photos of the purported slain terrorists “appear staged in a manner which mirrors past examples of Egyptian security forces executing suspected terrorists.”
The attack was a virtual duplicate of another that occurred on May 26, 2017. Islamist gunmen ambushed buses full of Christians returning from the same monastery. Twenty-eight Christians—ten of whom were children, including two girls, aged two and four—were massacred. According to accounts based on eyewitness testimonies, the terrorists had ordered the passengers to exit the bus in groups:
